If accuracy is good, it means the pad helps a lot with the sensor.
Superlight and fast sounds like we can reduce the dpi a little bit.

I check online, can't get RM 230 for this pad (need XXL). I thought it'll be sub RM 200, out of luck.

1600dpi still provides the best balance of lowest latency with these latest PAW based sensors. Above 1600 the latency decrease tapers off rapidly.

To properly get the balance of stopping power and glide, you gotta match the mouse feets and pad to your preference.

LCD resolution are high nowadays, I'm on 3840 x 1600 so 1,600 dpi definitely will not be fast enough.
Any ideas how to go about? I usually do 2,500 - 2,600 dpi on my Steelseries QCK XXL Heavy.

You can always use 3200dpi but lower in-game sensitivity to hit your individual 360°/cm that you're familiar with.

1600dpi was just an example I used. Objectively speaking, there is no reason to use anything lower than that anymore. I know most pros still prefer using 800dpi (median average amongst most FPS games), but they grew up with that setting and it'll make no sense to go to anything different because familiarity = consistency > better numbers.

I tried to google but not much information provided.
What would be the difference using 2,500 dpi vs 3,200 dpi + lowering in-game/Windows sensitivity?

The pros usually play at low resolution so no problem with low dpi settings biggrin.gif

You can use this calculator - https://www.mousesensitivity.net/

It doesn't matter what your dpi is, as long as it comes back to the same preferred 360/cm then you could even have 10k DPI if your mouse allows it (without sensor skipping out).

There are many pros that play at high resolution now actually, but lower all in game IQ settings.

Hello, does anyone know any good places where can test high-end gaming mice in Klang Valley?

I'm looking to get either G502 Lightspeed or Basilisk Ultimate but want to see how the mouse feels in my hand first before spending RM500 on it.

I know lots of places have cheapo Armageddon mice on display for testing but seldom I see the really high end stuff for display from Razer or Steelseries.

Soft pad = generally slower than hard pads, less durable obviously and overtime the micro weaved surface could deteriorate. They are of course also harder to clean. However soft pads are more comfortable, provides better control with the right mouse feets in conjunction with the surface weave.

Hard pad = more durable, easier to clean, usually much faster than soft pads. But certain hard pads would also eat through your mouse feets very quickly, requiring a change more often than on soft pads. Comfort is also a big issue with hard pads.

Neither is better, it's what you prefer.

If you're worried about cleaning cloth pads, first thing you need to do is - keep your room clean, then use a lint roller instead of a cloth to clean your pad. Wash your pad every 6 months or so to clear out the skin and grime from your arm and wrist.

You ask like covid doesn't exist anymore. Still want to go hold mice in stores? rclxub.gif

Also "testing" mice in a store doesn't actually do anything. The only way to properly test a mice is to use it in your own environment, with your own mousepad and with the game(s) you play. The whole "it feels good" touching a mice for 10 seconds in a store doesn't mean anything.

Measure your hand length and width, choose a mice size based on that with your preferred grip style.

Orochi V2 is what you're looking for.

If that's too small, you may want to look for the G305. But the G305 requires a bit of modding to make it actually a good mouse - changing the feet to virgin PTFE (i.e Tiger ICE) and using a AAA battery housed in a AA converter to reduce weight for a start.

G305 is cheaper but once you add up the mods, it'll end up to be roughly around the same price as the Orochi V2.

That's more of a productivity mouse, a bit on the heavy side (100g) for such a small mouse. Unless you really like that shape, wouldn't recommend it for gaming.

Then you're good to go.

I bought 10 units of it earlier this year for my office and they've been solid.
