I don know which one u feed urs fries...how much is it? some ppl manage to 'grows' some little tiny˛ things by lefting the veges until it rotten in clear water. I think it is plankton..but not sure what type...that was though by Siamese men who breed the Bettas but i failed to do so..

is this artemia?


Wa...nice one lol...can buy ah? Im manage to find those little˛ tiny thingy to feed on small fishes especially beta and guppy fries

after i take out and count yah it is 8 rays sala bf X sala bf come out this one ...i got alot of 8 rays bf female also LOL

hahaha, those r infurosia, only good to feed fries for the 1st or second day, after that u better feed them microworm or live artemia, infurosia only good for 1st n 2nd day fried, if u feeding fries with tat, they wil grow very slow n malnutrision, feed microworm or artemia better, i learn this from sifu lim, and i tried b4 also all the other foods like daphnia, frozen artemia, tubiflex, liquifry no2 (which i dont recommend here), i am keeping wild bettas and CT, or u can try to feed them with boild eggyork, but make sure u shake them well in water, then spar 1 or 2 drops to the fries, 2 times per day, but make sure dont over feed and change 10% of water every 2 days, bcos it wil make water faul very fast.....just my opinion, peace..

hahahaha, sifuu Yewlin, i am not sifuu yet, just an oldman....hahahahaha i do luv bettas especially wild bettas, "wild"....hehehehehehe.....so bad i am out of budget and space right at the moment .......otherwise sure willl get some nice nice bettas from siffuuu here.....like u.......

any good links for betta? and how do u differentiate male with female? i get confused especially with the wild betta (since the males also have short tails like the females)

Usually female can be distinguished by the white dot underneath their belly and they shows vertical stripes while flaring when they are ready to breed...wild bettas on the other hand, you'll have to check out which strains are you planning to keep and google for more info on how to sex them because there's other traits that needed to be checked that isn't neccessary in sexing show betta...there's always a general rule though that is the male usually shows better colouring compared to female when they are in breeding mood.

and do females make bubblenests? i thought only males do that. My friend just bought some female bettas (claimed by the LFS). He said that he did notice a white dot underneath the belly, but the bettas were making bubbles

agreed with master evildonkey, diff wild betta with hv diff way to tell male n female...sometimes if the female a bit "tomboy" then she wil make a very very tiny bublenest too, like my one also luckily she is not lesbian...hahahaha wild bettas if u wan can try out mahachai sp or smaragnida or imbellis la, they r just like normal bublenester ma...and the color also so nice......

Agree with jaspery...for starters try mahachai/smaragdina/imbellis coz they are easy to keep...there's even a pair of smaragdina if i've not mistaken spawned during aquafair...when i pack them up during bench out saw so many fries in there

ya agreed with sifuu evildonkey, they r really beautiful fishi n easy to spawn too for splendens myself prefer CT and HM, not really into PK types....
