hey guys !! juz got my fish yesterday night !! So happy haha .. this is my set up



But but ... this morning i check again .. the water become like this oredi =/ Why ar ??



Fighting fish no need pump 1 rite =/ Why the water become so milky ... is it the gravels ? I oredi wash it like 4 to 5 times leh .. any special ways to clean it ? I juz rinse with water .... and also i notice got some bubbles on the surface ... i read in google b4 it is actually a good news rights ? It's called bubble nest or something which indicates tat the fish is healthy ?? Btw a pic of my fish ... what species is it ar ?

should be VT type betta which you can get it on lfs

what is lfs ar ? btw who can explain my water condition ar =/ .. will my fish die with tat condition ? coz change water i scared the fish will feel stress ... i juz put it in yday ... dun change .. scared it will die

lfs = local fish shop.

The gravels.... normally if i put gravels, I let it rinse in the sink till the water is not milky... then when put in tank, I do not place fish first but after 1 to 2 weeks hahaha.... dunno lah, that is my style. I don't think betta will die in that condition coz in nature they do live in muddy paddy fields.... but it would be good to leave out those white gravels. I use river gravel coz cleaner.

Is it ok if i change the water now ? Like 100% ... then i rinse the gravels for a week like u said ... so the tank will be empty ... with the ship and 100% new water ...

Then the next time i change water again only i put back the gravels in .. is that ok ? Can he adopt to the change ? Coz like change here change there dunno he like onot ...

Hmm... this one must wait for the sifu sifu here to answer hahaah... I got limited knowledge in this.

everytime you change 100% water, u put the fish under high stress level. only do it if you absolutly have to. in your case, it's even better to have the betta in a bare-bottom tank as it will be a lot easier to clean the tank.

scary la the water =/ i changed it already ... hopefully nth will happen to my betta =/ .. anyways will it show any sign if he's under stress ? like fungus n bad stuff like tat ??

hi, just read the message......is this betta still ok?
after seeing the picture taken, i think ur betta being infected by parasite...
i can see that ur betta stomach "buncit" & the eyes were having white spot...if this getting more serious ur betta will become blind & will died for few days. i have experience before (10 years ago)
maybe u could change the bottle or put it into bigger tank (plastic tank), & make sure the water is clean.
also have to be careful when feeding it.
that's all i can help.

Added on April 28, 2007, 1:13 amjust make sure that ur female betta is not bigger than the male betta (or make sure ur male betta is not having any sickness).
if not the female will attack the male, meaning that she is rejecting her spouse.

1) If he's stressed over a period of time, he'll get disease very soon ...

2) don't feed so much, it wont help to ease his stress

3) i think lights won't really stress them ..

* did you use antichlorine while changing wateR? if that doesn't help, maybe aerate the water ..

thnx for the answers dude and yea i did use the water ager to clear the chlorine ...

i have been breeding fighting fish for the last few years..with over 15 times and more than 5k eggs laid..but just none of the baby fishes grow ...they always die within 5 to 7 days after hatch from the yellow eggs..and i tried many ways...with different food...like egg yolks..papaya...very small shrimp..then...add with lake water with tiny creatures...
i wonder if it is the problem with no food that they always die..
then later on i try with few times taking out the father fish instead of letting it to take care of its baby fishes...and yet..die even fast..within 3 days....
need explaination..i hoping to find out the sole reason why they always die...the mother fish is taken out everytime after the eggs were laid..and i constantly give red blood worm...around 20 each day....
need help on this...thanks 1st
