some in the forum are saying OnePlus will actually give out the phone as well. let's see how accurate is the person who said that...

but I won't be surprised seeing how they actually rewarded a forumer with invite the launch.

would be an awesome for me if it has 4.3" - 4.5" screen. too big for my palm size to hold, and i think it'll be hard to get here in malaysia. warranty could be a problem right?

they only have plans for one phone this year and it's going to be 5.5".

but seriously, if you have the chance, give a large phone a try. i can safely say those who have tried won't go back to smaller phones. there's no concern about not being able to fit into pockets, etc... millions of note users can tell you that. smile.gif

back to this OnePlus One. well, OnePlus said they'll be able to fit a 5.5" screen into the width of a Sony Xperia Z1. so, let's see how they do this on the 23rd April, when this phone is officially launched.

as for warranty... i guess until they officially sell in Malaysia, otherwise, its going to be like AP sets -- at own risk.

when made available to Malaysia, i think any claims -- ship back to them. if its their fault, they will cover all costs, etc... that's what they said in their latest update.

I dont like large phone as well, but initial speculation that OPO should be slightly longer than Nexus 5, so I had no issue with it.

Regarding availability, they recently reveal there will be online store.

Updates from One+ staff. Presumable Malaysia have no issue to purchase it online, had to hope for the best #NeverSettle

QUOTE
Let’s talk about how shopping at OnePlus will be like. Our goal is to make the OnePlus online shopping experience as friendly for the user as possible. To accomplish this, we chose to focus on three areas: localization, logistics and customer service.

Will the shopping experience be perfect from the beginning? I don’t think so. As a young startup, we’re bound to make a lot of mistakes on the way. However, with your help, patience and guidance, I’m confident that we can make the OnePlus shopping experience great together. We look forward to start shipping.

If there’s something that needs clarification after reading this post, don’t hesitate to ask.

Localization

When you visit OnePlus, it will feel like visiting any local e-commerce website from your country. It will be in your native language, the currency you pay in will be your local currency, and all aspects of the experience will be catered to your region. For instance on the product page where we talk about network connectivity, we will also show you what carriers the OnePlus One is compatible with in your country.

Logistics

Shopping online internationally can be painful, with long delivery times, poor communication, and customs issues. To improve this experience, we will have multiple warehouses in every continent we serve, and your package will always be shipped from the warehouse closest to you. This will help ensure safe and speedy delivery.

European customers are often worried about customs and VAT when purchasing goods from outside of Europe. By the time you purchase the OnePlus One, we would already have imported them into the European Union, and paid all associated fees and taxes. The device will be shipped from one of our EU warehouses. The EU is still trying to unify the laws and taxes across the different countries, so some countries might still act a bit differently. However, this means that in 99.9% of the cases, EU customers will not be faced with any customs issues when buying their OnePlus.

Customer Service

When you have questions or face problems with your product, there will be three ways to obtain help: knowledge base, forums, and by contacting our customer service team.

We will keep updating a knowledge base with the most common questions, so that you can find your answer immediately, without the need to wait for a response.

The OnePlus Forums is growing into a great community where people discuss the latest technology, help each other out, and make new friends. This is also a great way to receive help for simpler questions.

In addition, we’ll also have a dedicated customer service team ready to assist. As we start out, the customer service will operate from the OnePlus HQ. All agents will possess great English skills, and with the help of modern translation tools, will even be able to help you in your local language if you don’t feel like requesting help in English. Depending on how well our products are received, we may expand our customer service team to other regions in the near future.

If in the rare chance that your product has quality issues, you will be taken care of by the warehouse closest to you. Our warehouses also double as service locations, and depending on region and circumstance, will pick up your device or have you send it. Of course, if we are to blame for the issues, we’ll also take care of the costs.

i think the update is just very general. they had earlier said their initial launch country will be about 12 or so...

and if its anything like what OPPO has got, Malaysia is not on OPPO list. <-- i 'placed' a pre-order for Find 7a, and when i pulled down the country menu to select Malaysia, Malaysia is not in the list.

ya, a lot in their official forum still wondering as well...

but the design... can't be that bad to the point where it ends up like the LG Vu. biggrin.gif

other things still waiting for confirmation are: microSD slot, official launch country <-- i think these are the two major things ppl still waiting to know

anyway, everything will be made known on 23rd April.

* Samsung Galaxy Note series are good, Wacom Pen is great but I'm not a fans of TouchWiz Nature UI/feature.
* LG G3 worth awaiting as the feature offer by LG are way better and useful than TouchWiz, but still I'm not a fans of LG UI and LG Mobile Malaysia sux big time.
* Motorola Moto X2/X+1 worth waiting too, and again, not a fans of AMOLED, but the Active Display require it for best combo and Always Listening looks cool and Almost Vanilla Android, no leak at the moment. Will wait and see...
* OnePlus One is like the perfect hardware of all kinds we always wanted for, but one question left is, is it unbrickable just like the Nexus where we always can flash Factory Image? And is it have enough of stock to supply worldwide fans?
* Nexus 6, well is a Nexus nothing more to say at least have to wait till October/November 2014.
