weird... today so quiet one??
*
friday ma... smile.gif

hey guys, guess what, i just did my 20K service (actually yesterday lah, but today seems so quiet so i cerita a bit)

i did:
1. engine oil (esso ultraflo 10w40 semi syn)
2. oil filter
3. coolant (2 bottles) non pre mix kind

seems short becoz i already did gear oil, plugs, etc etc, and also have KnN,

the thing is, for the coolant, they use two bottles and add 2 parts water. so what was the fuss about using pre mix coolant? i belive that its the same right? i asked the SC and he said that if mix correctly its the same, so dont be fooled by permix coolant X6, btw the temperature was actually lower then new car by 1-2mm (on the display la)
it cost me a total of rm135...

in top of that i change my front brakes (ori gone liau) to bendix titanium, at first i was sceptical cause the only ones i used before is bendix metal king gold on my previuos ride, but anyway the guy at the spare part shop say this is new (dunno bluff me or not) so i decided to try la.

cheers smile.gif

get the low dust brakes pad lor... But then, to tell u the truth, good pads produce dust. Bendix and such produce dust too... But they're certainly better than the stock Bosch.

shackks,
i got the pads in johor jaya, at 105,
so far the brakes not too bad la. a bit better than stock coz its not the hgh teperature bendix metal king gold or bendix ultimate, this is just normal ones, they don have the gold and ultimate

hey, what fpr u using and how to disable the stock fpr?
i dunno how the dummy fpr looks like or where to get it

mattchin,
brakes are ment to produce dust, if no dust then usually the pads are not effective in getting rid of heat... thus lower temperature rating
thats why high performance pads all a lot of dust.

Hi guys! I am an expat working here and I drive an H-Line AT Black Gen2. So far, everything I've heard about Gen2 is true. It accelerates quite fast. Also, the windows are easily rattled, creating an annoying rattling sound when the road is rough. This is even if the car is just came out of the dealer.

Anyway, I also want to point out how I find driving in the city area (KL/PJ). Before I got my car, I already noticed that most Malaysian drivers lack common road courtesy and defensive driving. I told myself I should brace myself for whatever would happen on the road. When I started driving (which was two weeks ago) here, I have noticed the following:

1. Most tend to tailgate, leaving very little room between one's front bumper and the rear bumper of the car in front. To those guilty of this, you should know that to maintain a safe distance between you and the car in front of you (during a stand still/jam), make sure that you can still see the two rear tires of the car in front. If you don't see them anymore, you are way too close already.

2. NOBODY slows down in an intersection even if the car crossing from either side already has the right of way. By right of way, I mean that more than half of the car's body is already in the intersection or have already crossed the X in the intersection.

3. Almost everybody switches lanes even if the car on the lane to be switched to has not completely passed yet. I observe this commonly among small cars, which keep on weaving in and out of traffic, thinking probably, they are small so nobody will be bothered. Completely wrong.

4. NOBODY stops to let a pedestrian cross.

5. Almost nobody stops at the exact time the traffic light turns red. A moron even honked at me for stopping at the red light. The nerve of the guy.

I've some more observations, which I will put some other time. Anyway, I thought this kind of driving behavior is only observable among taxi drivers. However, even those who are driving the more expensive cars - BMW, Mercedes, etc. drive as I have observed. This just goes to show that money can buy you fast cars but it cannot buy class and common courtesy.

I hope you guys will take my criticisms constructively.

HEy, i got the same thought as you.

1. Yes, i dont know why people like to tailgate, if someone do that to me, i will speed up and find an empty opening to move to the left. Jus now as i was comming back from damansara on LDP, there was this silvia tailgating me leaving jus few centremetres of space between us both. What is the point if there is many cars moving slowly in front of me. What can i do? And if you think someone is road hogging the fast lane, jus stay some distance back and flash once at him. If he doesnt move, what makes you think that he will move if u tailgate him.

2. My dad always does that and my mom always complain about him. I only do it when there are some irresponsible people who park their cars at the junction which make me cant see cars coming from that direction.

3. People nowadays like to zig zag finding the FASTEST lane. I dont think it makes much diff when reaching the destination, maybe +- 5 min the most? And mostly of them all dont put signal while changing lanes. shakehead.gif

4. I do! But i did not stop/slow down for a few times before as i didnt realise there is a crossing in front of me as there is no traffic lights or people crossing.

5. I find this is the most common thing that malaysians does. I do sometimes stop over the line but of course not obstructing opposite traffic. But most important is do NOT BEAT THE RED LIGHT. That is the most dangerous thing to do.

Btw, what country are you from?

Wow, our overseas friend really posted things that i also dislike... And about the ppl crossing bit, i usually stop to let most ppl go (especially when there is a traffic light, best way to control cars approaching the zebra crossing!)...

Btw, how long have u been here in Malaysia, juan? And from his nick, he could be Hispanic or Spanish?

Juan,
not all in msian are like that altho some of them tend to lack of courtesy and manners on the street.

Therefore, all I can say is take care of ur own butt first...

As wat Jason had mentioned, try driving ur Gen2 in spore or in JB... and you'll have more complaints..

btw, enjoy ur Gen2..

Pacer,
sorry for the late reply, the FPR i'm intending to install is the Sard's... U wanna install it together with me??

cheers.

Hey bro, what u mean "more complaints" when driving Gen2 in these places? I may be heading down to SG in November for a short break actually... Meaning i have to be careful when driving my black ride on these roads?

And (OT here ya) speaking of SIC racing, do they have those legal races on weekend nights? I may be interested in checking it out and even doing a round on this magnificent track!

JB have midnite sprint at the Pasir Gudang Circuits every saturday nite. But itz nore like those circuit drive. More on drag.

For circuit drive, do check with the G2C Performance Team.

Bro, most of the time, those Sporeans do not give mercy to Msian cars. So, drive carefully.

cheers.
