Yeap, Leadtek,Palit,Zotac,EVGA and Gainward I think are the only manufacturers that only do Nvidia's card only. MSI,ASUS,Gigabyte do both and XFX only does Sapphire. I think hmm.gif

Whoever said that...IT'S NOT true!It doesn't do any FPS increase. This is the only difference between H87 Motherboards and B85 Motherboards.  wink.gif Read the comparison of a B85 and H87 motherboard.
http://www.asrock.com/mb/compare.asp?Selec...l1ty+B85+Killer

You can't really compare between those two, since Sapphire is AMD's partner(Is that how you say it? unsure.gif ),Leadtek is NVidia's partner.Sapphire have 2 Years of Warranty and Leadtek has 3 iinm.

Can suggestion me to take which one for mobo ? B85 or H87?

XFX used to have nice overclockers/modders warranty where they will still honor warranty even if you ripped out their stock cooler and used something else. Not sure if they still have it though. They made good stuff. thumbup.gif

You can take Asrock H87 Pro4..since it only costs 40 ringgit more than Asus B85M-G and Asrock B85M-Pro4 biggrin.gif

Hahaha techpowerup reviews everything. But yeah, I don't like club3D's non reference designs. But their 7990 Non Reference one looks like an absolute behemoth.

QUOTE(mykchin8 @ Mar 19 2014, 01:17 PM)
Xeon CPUs (they are not chipsets as what you mention above) are designed for servers, so they do not have a GPU, and have hyperthreading to run more parallel jobs, and more L3 cache to support those additional processes.  Servers normally handle a lot of "processing jobs" in parallel, with multiple different clients requesting from the CPU at the same time, so the higher capability to support each job request along with the memory will make the Xeon CPU perform better in those environments.

If there are only a few threads running at the same time, like for example in computer games of today, then a faster clocked processor will finish that same job faster.

So in short, whether a Xeon or a OC i5 is faster depends on the software or program that you are using.  Generally, for workstation type software (image editing, video editing, etc) that can run many jobs in parallel, or if you are running multiple programs at the same time, then Xeon will be better. If you are playing a FPS game, then an OC i5-4670K would be better.

However, for gaming, normally the bottleneck is the GPU, so in your specific example above, the GPU will most likely be the bottleneck at 1920x1080 high quality resolutions before the CPU is the bottleneck, so it is possible there will not be much of a difference when gaming between the two CPUs.

I am not familiar with Asrock motherboards, I am most familiar with Asus, and next I use Gigabyte, so I cannot really provide an opinion to you on that one.

You can buy the parts in Low Yat Plaza ... one of the best places to get computer hardware.  I buy from one shop in Low Yat because I have been buying there since Low Yat Plaza started about 15 years ago, and I get very good service from the owner, and he is like a friend to me now.  Any of the main shops are OK, I think.

For movie-watching, look for brands that use IPS screens, like LG, and Dell.  IPS screens give good color reproduction, and although contrast is not that good, monitors from Dell give good contrast from IPS screens.  I am using Dell monitors now, after going through a few brands.

Wireless adaptor is pretty standard, I normally use TP-Link for their good replacement policy, and never had an issue.

KB+Mouse I use Logitech, but I also think these are pretty standard, and any brand will do ... the more important is whether you feel comfortable with the KB/mouse or not.

Thanks for taking your time. notworthy.gif

So basically I guess I will go for the Xeon CPU for the reasons.

What is the shop in LYP? The price alfiejr quote is the generally lowest among others but he doesn't mention the place.

Yeah I guess will go with Dell U series too.

Thanks again. nod.gif

Drafted specs:
CPU-Intel Xeon E3 1230 V3-RM779
Mobo-Asrock H87M Pro-4-RM319
Memory-Gskill Value ram 2x8GB-RM478
GPU-Leadtek GTX 750 ti 2GB-RM569
SSD-Samsung 840 EVo 250GB-RM569 or you can use two 128GB SSD's for raid
HDD-Seagate Barracuda 3TB-RM379
PSU-FSP Hexa 500w-RM149
ODD-liteon 24x DVD/RW-RM59
Case-CM N300-RM149

Is there any reason why consider the Seagate brand for HDD?

Why conisder Asrock H87 Pro4 over that two? Mind sharing?

Basically can you share what is the important factor in choosing a mobo?

Thanks Minecrafter. nod.gif

1.It has more USB3.0 ports, which might come in handy. wink.gif
2.It has Intel Smart Response Technology, which also helps if u have an SSD.I once got "taught" by a forumer here, cause i was clueless why H87 and not B85 since this 1 guy is asking for recommendation..here's about Intel SRT.
http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/arc...technology.html
3.More SATA3 ports,which may also come in handy. wink.gif

Important factor in choosing Mobo eh?

1.Well,first of all,your CPU.
For example your CPU is i5 3470,which is LGA1155(IvyBridge) socket. And if you wanna buy a Mobo,it has to be LGA1155 compatible.

2.Budget also comes into play.. tongue.gif

3.What is your usage and future "plans"?Like are you gonna SLI?CfX?If the mobo have 2 SATA3 Ports, and you have 4HDD that you want to install. But you can only install 2,since there's only 2 SATA3..unless,there's 2 SATA2..but it might decrease the speed of the HDD iinm.

4.How many sticks of RAMs do you want to install? If u have 4 sticks of 4GB,but there's only 2 RAM slots, you can only install 2.And remember, nowadays,Mobos only support from 1333 upto...2400MHz without problem?I could be wrong though.

5.If you wanna SLI/CfX,you need TWO and above PCIE 3.0 Slots that runs at X16 .Which im sure Z87 and X79 Motherboards has. tongue.gif

6.If you wanna overclock, let's say i7 4770K.And you have 2 choices,Asrock B85 Killer or Asrock Z87 Extreme4.You can't overclock it on Asrock 85 Killer...because it is NOT Z87.Intel CPUs with K prefix at the back can only be Overclocked with an Z87 Motherboard..(If u're using LGA1150 CPU)

I hope i've answered your questions. The first time i got a question like this since i started recommending.. sweat.gif wink.gif

May I ask, why using dual boot. Why not just use windows only? I mean if it's only Photo Edit and gaming wouldn't a Windows OS suffice? That's all I'm asking.
