Hey guys,
This is the suggestion given to me:

i3-4130
Asrock H81M-DGS
Corsair 8GB DDR3 1600MHz
FSP Hexa 500W
Palit GTX750 StormX OC 1GB GDDR5

I was offered Gainward Geforce GTX 750 2048MB at RM425, which is only RM5 more than the 1GB Palit GTX750 from GBros. What do you guys think? Is there any difference in performance?
*
Both have identical clock speeds, so they will perform similarly. Go ahead. smile.gif Oh ya, and it should be a 1GB card for the GTX 750, not 2GB. wink.gif

jdachum, you sure GTX750 got 2GB VRAM one (though even so, I doubt the extra VRAM will be useful for such mid-range card)?

The differences between brands aren't really a concern. You should concern bout the warranty over few % differences in performance.

Just get the one with 6pins PCIE connector on it.
*
I do not think these 750 have any 6-pin power connector on it. laugh.gif

I remember some 750TI have it, 750 I have no idea. sweat.gif
*
You're right. Asus' 750 Ti version has it. But I feel quite redundant, since the Palit StormX Dual without any 6-pin power connector can overclock better than the Asus also. biggrin.gif

Hi guys, right now im installing the gainward gtx 760 phantom to my asrock b85m pro4. I also have tplink at pci 2.

The problem is if i put my gpu at pcie 1 which is pcie3.0, it block both the pci 1 and 2 where i put my wifi card.

Can i put my gpu at pcie 2 slot so that i can use my wifi card?
Would there be any diff on performance? Thanks
*
If not mistaken, the second PCI-E lane runs at x4, as compared to normal x16 on the first lane. I would recommend running it at the first, since you will suffer some performance hit.

Bros, need some recommendation. What is the best PSU i can get for price sub rm400 or less.
Thanks. biggrin.gif

Edit the requirement:
- Intend for future proof (not so future proof but barely survive also can)
- Enough for GTX 780 / Ti
- Enough for R9 290X or CFX 280X

At first i was thinking to get FSP Aurum 750w @ RM399. But need to hear otai opinion first.
*
Allow me to suggest Seasonic M12II 750W, noticed you wanted it to be able to support CFX 280X. biggrin.gif

Does extra rm40 worth over the Aurum 750W? Coz, Aurum is fully modular with gold efficiency. Tempted.  tongue.gif

From what I know, FSP Aurum is a pretty good PSU too. Go go go! thumbup.gif

What do you think? hmm.gif

I always thought that since the rather impressive Raider which was based on the similar design as the Aurum, both should be of a good series.

why you suggest me Antec VP-550 550W PSU - RM199..why not fsp hexa or aurum?
*
Your budget allows you to get the better Antec VP-550. You want to save some bucks and go with FSP Hexa also can. Aurum out of your budget.

ahh and shouldn't i get a dual channel ram instead of a value stick?
and should i get a third party cpu cooler and if so what model is recomended?
should make it as cool as possible? blush.gif
*
The benefits of going dual channel is minimal at best, and is not worth your bucks. A single value stick is good enough.

A CPU cooler isn't necessary for your case, but if you insist, then can consider CM Hyper TX3 Evo.

hahaha... sentinel, you always read my mind....  tongue.gif

btw bro, i have some question on the mobo....

Mobo - Asus B85M-G RM 279 <<<<was recommended from sifus here some time ago.
i googled up and somehow feel the pci slot is abit less?
i will be using a wifi pci that will take up one slot.... mayb in future will add on soundcard.
any other mobo can recommend that fits my need and best bang for buck less than rm300?

asrock b85 pro 4? asrock b85 killer? gigabyte b85m-hd3? gigabyte b85m-d3h?
*
Go with Asrock B85 Killer then. It is full sized ATX board, has 3 PCI slots and is well within your budget. wink.gif

You would have to check the casing's official specification then. Too small would be a matter of perception then. After all there's only so much you can expect from mid tower casings.

I included GTX 760 because your budget allows you to. If the game that you only play is Dota 2, can consider downgrading the graphic card to GTX 750 Ti and get a 128GB SSD. smile.gif

Gainward GTX 750 Ti Golden Sample - RM540 (zhen^wei)
Plextor M5S 128GB SSD - RM284

Intel Xeon E3 1230 V3 MYR 800.00
Asus Z87-K MYR 465.00
Value Ram (2x8GB) DDR3  MYR 238.00
LEADTEK GTX 770 4GB MYR 1349.00
WD 1TB Blue MYR 180.00
Samsung DVDRW MYR 55.00
Seasonic S12II 620W MYR 300.00
CoolerMaster Elite 311 MYR 120.00

Total Rm3507
biggrin.gif that would be decent gpu as well?
Reason for the turbo boost is that rendering would require better cpu and the motherboard allow for better speed of the Xeon. And Xeon is basically an i7 4770 without the graphic card and lower speed only. So it's a better choice since i'm going to be buyin my own Gpu smile.gif

Thanks for the monitor. I like it and probably will save up to buy it xD

About the casing is there a smaller case that will fit everything and still have good air flow? I might be moving it alot smile.gif
Within the budget as well. And i will see if i can get any deals ><

Anyway to improve this more? I realize if i buy a H or B motherboard i can get the i7 4770k. But if i get the Xeon i will get the Z87-K (which of this is a better choice?)
*
Actually I am not sure why you will need specifically a Z87 board for that Turbo Boost feature. I thought that is a passive feature of the CPU itself, e.g the Xeon E3 1230 v3 has a base clock of 3.3 GHz and turbo boost of 3.7 GHz. Or are you referring to something else? tongue.gif

And you can try to get a cheaper alternative for the GTX 770. As I know, a 4GB VRAM for the GTX 770 is pretty much useless, I would go for faster clocked 770s with 2GB VRAM instead. A good example would be Gainward GTX 770 Phantom or Zotac GTX 770 AMP! Edition.

QUOTE(lolzcalvin @ May 2 2014, 04:13 PM)
I see, thanks for the infos. I have never build a pc before so things about installing PSU and GPU I am not very clear. Well currently planning to buy full-supplied alienware cpu first instead of custom build one, next time I'll try to build it myself (gonna buy gtx titan lel)

Alienware X51 GTX760Ti
*
You could actually get the list and head to any shop in LYP and get them build the rig for you. A customized build tops any Alienware build anytime (depending on budget range). biggrin.gif
