QUOTE(allenultra @ Jul 3 2014, 09:47 AM) Change the windscreen tint to something with 95% heat rejection. I did for few PrevoC members around RM500 for the windscreen front, they are very happy guys now, so are their gf/wives. bro allen, needs to come to ipoh is it for the tint?u still haven't told me the brand when i asked previously QUOTE(ChuanHong @ Jul 3 2014, 09:23 PM) i applying loan ady and waiting bank calling but didnt get the call yet.. asked sales agent and he will check for me.. owner of course is bias bro...would i say i hate my car? of course not! i love my car! i choose premium vversion but i believe all are same discount.. 3k discount officially from Proton and sales agent can go to 1k~1.5k personally discount.. if u got car before, may deduct NCD of insurance.. for my case, i can save 45% of insurance. free gifts havent discuss yet.. coz as long as loan approved, then everything also can discuss.. if not, bargain till the end then everything just become a history.. but discount may discuss first before proceed. 3k+1k i think is common la.. until july register preve then can get 3 years free service included parts and labors. this 3 years free service is a PLUS for me. can save some money from here.. **Out there many ppl will laugh on me when i choose Proton Preve. Comment Preve no use la, Easily spoil, If crash then car total lost and etc.. Please able to control your EQ before u choose this car. I just dont care because money is mine and Im the driver. They want use most of their money for foreign car is their business.. Nothing related to me.. my comment is choose your preferred car after test drive and doing survey.. No need care about outsider comment because most of them didnt own it or drive it.. Ask the owner here they are much more helpful.. only problem with me is the sound insulation... feels like satria gti more better in sound dampening |

QUOTE(DaBestOne @ Jul 4 2014, 11:33 AM) Like to know whether it is OK to switch from D to N when going down a slope or cruising towards a red traffic light?Frequent use of that will damage the gear? Or better just leave it in D most of all the time? Cheerio. P/S Another question, they state 10,000 km or 6 months whichever comes first for servicing the car. I have a 2nd Proton which has low mileage, about 3,000 km after 6 months. Now, why the 6 months limitation? The lub oil will degrade even when in low usage? |

I would say leave to D most of the time, while the car is cruising. Just control the right foot. This post has been edited by allenultra: Jul 4 2014, 12:40 PM |

QUOTE(allenultra @ Jul 4 2014, 12:38 PM) Yes. Lubricant does have "expiry" date shifting d to n would meant u would loose engine braking. on older carburated cars, yes it will save fuel...The free gear method as I know, only apply to manual gearbox. For automatic gearbox, not advisable to do that. I would say leave to D most of the time, while the car is cruising. Just control the right foot. on newer fuel injected engine, during overruns, no fuel is injected so shifting to n will worsen ur fuel consumption.. after coming down hill, how are u going to get the engine up to speed and reduce shift shock to the cvt? keep in mind, our gb is clutch based and doing so will mean u get to change gb alot faster.. engine oil turns acidic as it ages... thats why there is a time limit... |

QUOTE(plumberly @ Jul 4 2014, 12:15 PM) Like to know whether it is OK to switch from D to N when going down a slope or cruising towards a red traffic light? That method will only save petrol with old engine - the new engines with ECU controller, if you leave in D mode and cruise - the engine will not draw any petrol to keep the engine running. however if you cruise with N, the Engine will have to draw petrol to keep the engine running hence will actually be more fuel saving when you cruise with D than N.Frequent use of that will damage the gear? Or better just leave it in D most of all the time? Cheerio. P/S Another question, they state 10,000 km or 6 months whichever comes first for servicing the car. I have done the experiment using your Fuel consumption meter available at your dashboard, when i cruise to traffic light in N, as i slow down i can actually see the instant L/100KM reading going up compared to when i leave in D mode - where the reading is 0 all the way till i almost stop when the ECU kicks in to tell the engine to start drawing petrol to keep the engine running... sorry for the long winded explanation:).... |

Hey everyone,
Firstly, I'm a newbie getting my first car. Already submitted my docs for the loan, crossing fingers now! Should be no problem, docs are quite strong. I'm getting a 2014 Prevé Premium. Very very excited! Just wanted to get some opinions from all the sifus here on some things. 1. What are the things to check on the car when I got it? 2. I'm getting the car from Johor, and taking it back to Kuantan in a 4 hours drive. Will it be a proper trip to pop the cherry (iykwim)? 3. The acceleration advertised by proton is 9.8 seconds. Is that for real? That's a lot of power for a 1600cc car. Been perusing this thread for nights! Thanks in advance, guys! |

I do believe yes but you might wanna maintain your speed and keep your rpm low That also depends if you want to follow the traditional break-in or the "modern" break in that some have shared here although I am still abit conservative.. 3. The acceleration advertised by proton is 9.8 seconds. Is that for real? That's a lot of power for a 1600cc car. .. It's a 1600cc turbocharged Been perusing this thread for nights! Guys been using my car for 2 weeks. 1st time i pour petrol rm80. I didnt off the engine so was referring to the fuel bar assumed full wen saw d bar reached full and refered to price rm 80.
2nd time pour petrol after the light blinked maybe 10-15km i would have travelled. I paid rm80 assuming the 1st time its full tank price. Today 3rd time i pour petrol, I drived till light blinked maybe <10Km. I paid advance so didnt limit to rm80. Wanted to see how much full tank. Poured at night. previously i poured at daytime which was hot afternoon. This time i put the petrol nozzle to auto and waited. It stopped at rm92+. so manualy pressed til rm93 and stopped. Walao rm93 is for full tank? why so much? im using preve cvt auto. Just passed 1k and havent go yet for service. Next week will go for service. Do share what type of oil supposed to use. |
