Well, yours everyday jam mah plus some more city driving so that FC is kinda normal, plus you pour only RM65 wink.gif

Try highway driving then you can test how long the mileage your car can go smile.gif

romen : Can't expect much from a 1.0 litre engine, you should have gotten the 1.3 version then got more power smile.gif

umm... how come you all use RM1 = xx km? Because this figure is not accurate if you're pumping say... Petronas and Shell. Not only that, it's will give you an artificially poor FC figure because when oil price go up, you'd think your car has poorer FC when actually it could very well be the same.

It's better to use the km/liter method right?

Its not like the oil price goes up and down everyday what, you can always include the price of fuel at that point.

Unless you pay for fuel in liters, or nothing better to do, quoting RM/km @ RM1.92 is easier to see at first glance, no need to tekan calculator

It still gives an artificially increased fuel consumption, and if today you pump Shell, tomorrow you pump Caltex, it would show different consumption, and you can't really tell if Shell really gives you more bang for your buck or not. Plus you need to remember what was the last purchase price of your fuel and what brand. Way more complicated. Maybe you guys have better memory so easier for you to remember. Forgetful people like me normally pump full tank reset trip meter, and the next time I pump full tank, I see how many liters I pump, and how many km i travelled. It's much easier to divide 400km/40 liters than 400km/RM78. And it's a little more accurate.

I get 7 km / liter city driving, 11km / liter highway driving. Mazda 626 V6 2L

Proton's Frugal Gen.2 A Winner For Family Trips

By Neville D' Cruz

MELBOURNE (Australia) June 12 (Bernama) -- Proton GEN.2's impressively low fuel consumption is saving an Australian family almost A$3,000 a year as well as making family reunion a more regular occurrence.

Shantell Sammut from Nyngan in New South Wales has cut her annual fuel bill from around A$6,000 a year to just A$3,000 since switching to a Proton GEN.2 at the end of last year.

Sammut averages just over 30,000 kilometres a year and regularly makes the 1,350-kilometre trip to Newcastle to visit relatives, ensuring that the odometer on her GEN.2 is constantly spinning.

The Sammut's 1.6-litre GEN.2 regularly carries two adults, two children and a boot full of luggage and averages just 6.6 litres per 100 kilometres, making the fuel consumption figures all the more impressive.

Sammut has already logged more than 15,000 kilometres throughout New South Wales since the end of last year and is on track to notch 30,000 kilometres in her first year of ownership.

With fuel prices at over A$1.50 a litre in many country areas, the Proton GEN.2's frugal fuel consumption leaves more money in Sammut's pockets.

"Even around town it has been surprising how little fuel the GEN.2 uses. I can now travel around town for a fortnight on a tank of fuel," Sammut said.

"My previous car was the same size and cost me about A$100 in fuel a fortnight but the GEN.2 costs me half as much," she said.

Sammut works for a local mechanic and also uses her GEN.2 to transport customers around town and back to nearby farms.

"I spend a lot of time driving customers and they are all impressed with the GEN.2. I get a lot of comments on how comfortable it is and how good it looks," she said.

Sammut was originally drawn to the GEN.2 because of its stylish looks and since taking delivery, she has fallen in love with every aspect of the car.

"Besides the low fuel consumption, I love the GEN.2's handling. It sticks to the road like glue even when fully loaded," Sammut said.

"My GEN.2 is an automatic and it performs very well. Even when we are going over the mountains, it goes up and down through the gears smoothly and I barely notice the changes," she said.

"I have figured out that if I own the GEN.2 for about six years I will save the equivalent of its price in fuel savings alone, and that is at the current fuel price. If the price goes up, my GEN.2 will make even more sense," she added.
