From kdramastars. sweat, this is where i start to worry, probably next announcement will be on CES right? I just hold on the purchase first, no hurry, be a smart consumer. Haha

My point is still with whether you looking for ultimate performance or bang for bucks.

If ultimate performance, of course you should wait.

If bang for bucks, the launch of 980ti not going to affect 970 much.

Probably gonna be in the price range of at least RM2200.. tongue.gif You can get dual GTX970s id you already have a SLI capable mobo and PSU.Better performance than GTX980 and probably GTX980Ti. tongue.gif Some games doesn't run well with dual cards though.

It's rare to have a second powerful card this cheap from nvidia.

If say wait for AMD to see what they are up to next, then I agree.

But wait for 980ti simply don't make much sense except you willing to grab a card over 2k.

Well,i'd let my predicted price out! tongue.gif
$699

For me,the cards around RM1000-1599 are the sweetspot for high-end GPUs.Above 2K,meh,difference isn't that much IMO in terms of performance. wink.gif

Even if GTX980TI launch, I still see no point or reason for Nvidia to further cut price on GTX970, which is already cheap and high in demands.

970's price isn't going to come down anytime soon, it'll probably stay at where it is for pretty much the rest of its life. 980Ti will push the price of the 980 down instead, that's the target.

*Edited. Double post. My bad.
Just for info, target is still GTX970.
http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/nvidia-ge...in-january.html

Stay in price is OK, hopefully wont increase in price also, rarely happened right? And also the GST thingy, better buy before April...

Will GTX970 enough for gaming at 1440p? Currently using 1080p, wish to upgrade to 1440p too with GTX970.

Also wish to ask, whats so special on EVGA? Anyone got idea, beside only selling in USA?

It's time to copy AMD's naming scheme.

Since AMD using Rx xxx

Maybe Nvidia can use Gx xxx biggrin.gif

A 1500mhz+ core OC'd 970 will handle most games on 1440p fine. But I doubt it'll hold out for future games. 1440p is 980 territory though. The 970's target base was always 1080p users, which is why Nvidia targeted its price to be so low.

As long as it's not the bs we had from 8xxxGTX > 9xxxGTX > GTX 2xx renaming fiasco all over again, I'm cool with it. Those days were just plain dumb.

If RM2k+, I rather go GTX970 SLI than something RM2k+. Still need motherboard that supports SLI and power supply that could handle it though.

Still have doubt on SLI-ing cards. Last time i SLI 2 GTX285, bad experience. Know that that was few years ago, but still... prefer more on single card. haiz... seem like hard to handle graphic intensive games like StarCitizen on 1440p. like no mood buy dy.

Maybe really need to consider SLI-ing. LOL since now im still on 1080p, might as well wait, probably until i have the budget to get new monitor next month.
