8800gt alpha dog .. dont remember any game with it. Yeah that time asus used to sell bundle games. They stopped after that and price came down.
Actually zotac also has two versions one bundled and one not. Not sure about cyntrix but from previous distro.. its zotac hq that decides which region gets what. Malaysia is forced to. Oh yeah this is when zotac became famous  also here in MY. but distro failed to support cause not enough cashflow. Cyntrix so far been playing it smart on sales and support.

i got a feeling.. bad one lol.. i am going to kena this crap again. New Maxwell 20nm 880GT going to kick my Titan Blacks and it will be a single card cooler. Y cause same thing happen that time. Tech change. 8800gt was only 256bit. etc but the tech on it was vastly superior etc...

Yeah, but can you promise that they won't put their profit first over customers' needs? rolleyes.gif

Seriously, if you ever go to retail stores and ask for recommendation. 99% of the time they simply suggesting the most overpriced and unbalanced configurations. And in the end you can't even guarantee the system will be more reliable or durable over other cheaper options.

The recommendation (i prefer to call it suggestion) things showed those people a potential configurations of what they can do with their budget. They need not necessary following it and are free to change according to their own liking and hearsay.

When you saw an inferior suggestion and you think you might have better solutions, you are free to debunk and debate with your ideas on why is it so.

I never get direct PM from him b4, so I not too sure bout it.

But retailers for sure will prioritize their own profit first b4 talking bout customers' right/needs.

I never met any retailers say "hei, the xxx you found in my store is inferior yet pricier than yyy being sold in another store, don't buy from me pls".

GTX 780 TI X2 SLI = TOTAL 6GB
its wont work why like that
*
2 cards SLI double the performance (theoretically/at best) but not the VRAM.

Which mean you SLI two 3GB cards, the final VRAM also 3GB.

You SLI 2GB card with 4GB card, it gonna follow the smaller one, 2GB.

hi everyone... i plan to get a gtx970 just wanna ask can old mobo with oni pci e 1.0 handle this card ar? i saw some website did test with that and they said oni a little performance drop..so wanna make sure from u guys (the pro) tongue.gif ...if really cannot support what mobo will u all suggest? (cheapest available la) hehe
*
PCIE2.0 is a little performance drop, PCIE1.0 certainly much more than that.

Also, I pretty certain that if your mobo only PCIE1.0, your CPU are certainly much dated and will bottleneck the GTX970...

There shall be some bottleneck due to the dated CPU.

hmmm...somewer in the middle? is it too much to ask for at least tahan 3 years above? haha..my last card is gtx560ti...tahan for nearly 4 years dy till now the next gen graphic kick in
*
The "futureproof" I mean is getting a quad core 8 threads processor, so it is more suitable for demanding games and badly optimised console ports. The price start at RM800 (before Intel price hike which I saw at Kopitiam) for Xeon all the way up to unlocked devil canyon i7 or even Haswell-E.

Cukup makan mean the cheapest i5 (4460), and bundle it with a B85/H97 mobo with PCIE 3.0.

To last 3 years and above, it is hard to say, especially for GPU. Lots of new techs are around the corner, each promising revolutionary improvement over current gen, LOL...

Since it is actually PCIE 2.0 and i5, there will still be some bottleneck, but should still be useable.

May be you can hold the upgrade for CPU and mobo till next year after Intel Skylake and DDR4 hit the mass market.

Seems like 980Ti coming soon, like another one month or two? I might need to hold up from getting GTX970 now. To prevent happening like last time: Got GTX670 then GTX770 and 780 came after two months. Zzz

Currently using GTX670, so i think im still good/able to tahan 2 months.
*
Even if GTX980TI launch, I still see no point or reason for Nvidia to further cut price on GTX970, which is already cheap and high in demands.

Depend on AMD card. Haha... suddenly AMD come out with 970 competitors...
*
I thought they usually play the game of down rank and rebrand previous gen card? hmm.gif

If that is the case, then 970 should take on 290 or 290x, still not enough to threaten 970. laugh.gif

two months doesnt seem like a long wait... So... wait. =(
*
My point is still with whether you looking for ultimate performance or bang for bucks.

If ultimate performance, of course you should wait.

If bang for bucks, the launch of 980ti not going to affect 970 much.

Probably gonna be in the price range of at least RM2200.. tongue.gif You can get dual GTX970s id you already have a SLI capable mobo and PSU.Better performance than GTX980 and probably GTX980Ti. tongue.gif Some games doesn't run well with dual cards though.
Bang for bucks from NVidia - GTX970 rclxms.gif

It's rare to have a second powerful card this cheap from nvidia.

If say wait for AMD to see what they are up to next, then I agree.

But wait for 980ti simply don't make much sense except you willing to grab a card over 2k.

It's time to copy AMD's naming scheme.

Since AMD using Rx xxx

Maybe Nvidia can use Gx xxx biggrin.gif

Still have doubt on SLI-ing cards. Last time i SLI 2 GTX285, bad experience. Know that that was few years ago, but still... prefer more on single card. haiz... seem like hard to handle graphic intensive games like StarCitizen on 1440p. like no mood buy dy.

Maybe really need to consider SLI-ing. LOL since now im still on 1080p, might as well wait, probably until i have the budget to get new monitor next month.
