I got more comfortable with your words.
This means i should not withdraw in 1 year, at least 2 or 3 years ?

what will happen if after 6 years, i saw some post always written as after 6 years, after 6 years etc..as example.

Many Thanks

In UT, you may or may not lost the capital, in your case, is the 10000 MYR. That's the main concern. But however, in the history of ASNB (for all the funds), its never happen before and the fund size is increase day by day. Which is people cash in day by day. Now, in ASNB, there is quite different with other stocks and forex which give you fast money. IMO, ASNB is more likely to be blue stocks. But, gaining of 7% pa is still consider low, because of the inflation rate around 2-3%..

No worry, many people have ASG even me. But I create account during the promotion last year (2% SC, instead of 5%). And to cut some lost, you can do Ringgit Cost Leveraging, meaning, cash in certain amount of unit once every month.

However, its up to you stop cash in if you feeling not good.

And it you want to cover the lost of 5%, yes at least 2 years,

As mention above, variable fund is concerning about ROI, this is quite confuse actually, @[will-I-am] mind to explain?

IINM this is the first time ever that they have offered a unit split exercise for their funds. Looks like the increase in "new money" coming in from the variable price funds (heard from some colleagues in the finance industry that YTD they've already sold RM1 billion in variable price funds) is seeing them go all out in their promotions.

This also means that PNB are "abiding" by the rules to limit the growth/size of fixed priced funds which the SC deems poses a systemic-risk to the local equity market. Sorry if that means deflating some of you who have been hoping for new/increase in fixed priced funds.

Yeah, split is a good news. I hope they split ASG too...
As what they put it "...untuk membolehkan pelabur meningkatkan unit pegangan... harga yang lebih mampu dilanggan"
And as always we welcome lower SC %. tongue.gif

Not sure when got promo... keep an eye on it.
As pointed out by other forumers here, it is a longer term investment.
I strongly believe it will beat FD. That's the reason I move from some of my FD to ASG.
If you may have missed my ROI sharing previously, do a check here.
And the returns is moving higher now. I will post again when it completes 6 months.

Oh btw, just for sharing, it took me 2 solid months to recover the 2% SC overall, and it moved from red to green thereafter. As for ASG-Kesihatan it was faster, it recovers the 2% SC within 1 month.

I think many still struggle to understand that UT is for medium to long term goals only. Anything less than 3 years you're really better off in equities for sure. And ISC or redemption charge (either one normally not both) is common in UT, the only thing that differs is the % rate being charged.

Also, UT works best using the dollar cost averaging (DCA) methodology rather than lump-sum style of investments. That's why its investment time horizon is classified as medium to long term. Expect the service charges to come down once the competition heats up and mind you, if you say 5% is high... Check around the other UT providers and you will see that 5% isn't the highest in the market.

Yape, but too bad some of the funds are not included inside their ''menu''.

For instance, i am actually also hunting for distributors who can also offer lower sales charge for MAAKL Managed fund series.. Seems like quite impossible because i have checked through those websites.

Anyway, i am still happy to maximize in portfolio in those fixed price funds in ASM and AS1M which at least offers me a peace of mind. blush.gif

no worry... As tbheng mention, ROI of ASG is returning fast.

and sorry to say that tbheng, can you mention the returning mechanisms? If having 10000 units in hand ( the 10000 units is after 5% SC )

I still not so understand.

I want to ask, what is this "5% of the NAV per unit. (Non EPF)" for ASG?

Eg 1
I currently have about 7000 units.

So if I withdraw say 6000 units at RM1/unit, the money I get is
(10000units x RM1) - (5% x 10000units x RM1)
=RM10000 - RM500
=RM9500

or is it

Eg 2

I plan to buy 10000 units at the price of RM1/unit
(10000units x RM1) - (5% x 10000units x RM1)
= 10000 units - 500units
= 9500 units?

Am I right?

All unit shown in the passbook are after SC.

Refer here for the formula I use; or you can use the Excel file at the end of post 1 here, especially if you have multiple entry points.
