Finally opened ASB2 yesterday at Maybank. But didnt see the additional 10 units? Is that credited at the end of the financial year?

I think later the 10 units would be credited into your account. Anyway better call & confirm with ASNB on the 10units thingy. Who know suddenly they change the TnC

Mine are usually hundreds rather than your thousands. Why? Why? How? How?

While waiting there noted the following:
* no chinese there except me
* 2 new applications for the ASB (so, extending this to the whole of M'sia, 8 hr * 2 * 17,000 * 20 days = 0.5 million applications for the new ASB)
* quite some work for one to get a new passbook, form to fill etc.

Need to get helpful staff, which u need some luck.
Most of the time the staff would juz give answer like "units tak ada lar encik", "susah lar mau buka baru" or "sistem off-line/problem"

Managed to get only RM100 ASW today at MB.

I think I am going to stop trying and all. When rethink, just like doing useless thing. When the workers incorporate, esp when the xividen paid day, and saying can't open new account coz no unit. And in the end get pawn by me when updating another account with an amount.

Giving up so easily? I started late last year, though not very successful with my strikes, my mindset is to try my luck when I have the time. Yes, can be disappointing at times. Don't aim for x amount or y strikes rate. Just get whatever is there.

As I have always said, trying other alternative, don't waste your time until the counter staffs hate you with the trial and errors of trying RM50-100 each time.

Banks already trying to reduce the over the counter transactions by introducing ATM, cash/cheque deposit machine, if everyone go and try and error with ASx it will increase their workloads and opportunity cost is their other core business.

Yes, I have commented previously too... they should just allow opening of acct (I don't feel the transparency here); and then let the fund holders top up over the internet.

CIMB and other banks already declared in their internet banking that :-
ASM, ASW, AS1M are fully subscribed for non Bumi
Only AS1M are available for Bumiputera.

So the banks are not to be blamed if those insisting want to try and error.

Dis is part n parcel of d game

the problem is there is NO more fund available for no-bumi

it is only available when someone sells their units
