I mean Maybank Savings account only gives interest max at 1.66% p.a.

I can't imagine ASB ever getting that low a return.

I see, you were referring to the reduction in ASB dividend rate.

Overall, consistently better than saving account and also FD rate (except for 2 yrs during the last financial crisis)!

Cheerio.

P/S I have excluded the ASB bonus in the above. About 1-2% extra p.a.

Since thats the case, then RM5k from Savings to ASB would obviously be miles better.

Unless there's another way to get higher return with as little the risk.

Yea I know. Thats why I say la is there a downside to say transferring rm5k from savings to ASB? since it give about RM200-300 more in dividend... a small amount but still its something.

D only risk is ASNB convert from fixed pricing to variable pricing

My layman's view/question on ASX's downside is, will it continue its good return if there is a change in the govt?

Don't know whether once you have an ASB account, will that affect your application for assistance from the govt? E.g. BR1M?

Cheerio.

ASNB is not owned by BN, if govt change hand, new govt will take over ASNB, the top management will report to new bosses, or new govt will inject new bloods into the company.

Why must worry about change in gomen & the effect on ASNB & it's funds. The same people/staff would be working there. Maybe got some "cosmetic" changes (elect new PR/other friendly & remove BN friendly directors).

hint: juz look at Penang & Selangor District Council people/staff whistling.gif

Good comparison.

But I have my suspicion that the magic hand in there may be removed or reduced with a new govt. E.g., no more special IPO allocation for ASX funds, plus other sure-win deals from the govt.

Of course, ideally one will want the fund managers to do their job with a high return without any hidden/special treatments from other companies/govt.

Just speaking my mind.

Nowdays the "special" IPO allocation are from the so-called cornerstone thingy (institution portion), not the MITI allocation (I remember someone mention even Bumi only ASx fund cannot apply MITI allocation, need to apply via institution portion). Maybe earlier days got special treatment but not now sweat.gif

Anyway I juz hope the ASx performance would be okay even if there's change in Gomen unsure.gif

I got an Excel spreadsheet for the calculation in this forum a few weeks ago. Can't remember the page number now. Look back and see.

Hello.

I would like to ask a question on ASN.

Based on the website, the 'Jumlah Pulangan (%)' is 11.36%, but the dividen is 6.45 cents.

My question is, why is the Total Return 11.36%? How to count it?

Thanks alot.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Never mind. I figured out myself after reading the financial reports again.

Sorry, and have a nice day thumbup.gif sweat.gif

Finally got my ASG passbook replaced at MBB branch.
A new design cover, a new 12-digit acct no (No Ahli) and simplified printing line (without the last remark column).
