I sometimes use Quasar to select and download the Streams with 1080P and 5.1 sound. E.g Star Wars 7 : The Force Awakens. I have slow line so I just pause the movie and let it download until complete. Pausing it will show you the seeding/peers info and also the DL and UL speed.
It gets tricky if it gets disconnected , you will have to search for the exact same torrent and play it again in order to continue downloading from where it left off.
That's why I still prefer using the regular windows Torrent software like uTorrent, where you can continue downloading without fuss even after stopping and exiting the program.
However for those using Quasar with fast line, I guess can just play the movie without the need to enable the download option.

i have actually tried them one way or another - xbmctorrent, kmediatorrent, pulsar, quasar, rarbg viewer, etc.
they all work the same way - torrenting the packets in the right sequence, playback as soon as the buffer reaches a sufficient level.
so far, i believe:
.. this method works good on pc/htpc.
.. it does not work well on androids because if the path is set to the sdcard, it'll take up 3, 5, 8gb in no time (yr system may crash); it does not work if the path is set to ext hdd - something to do with usb i/o speed or transfer protocol restrictions. the same thing is seen in popcorntime which works on the same principle.
.. quasar is designed to work on androids where pulsar doesn't. still, i failed to get it working properly on my android. anyone who has successfully done that on android with path set to ext hdd, please share!
.. still, i managed to view a couple of 720p and 1080p videos on my box that way - they are actually the same files as when u do utorrent incl dd/dts audio; only that the playback somehow isn't as smooth, a little jerky.
i will try again but at this time, i still prefer to do the torrents the conventional way, esp when it is 15gb or 35gb.
The trick is having a stable, fast Internet connection, installing the right providers and playing the right sized file that has sufficient seeders seeding it. Having sufficient free space on a fast eMMC storage also counts. For example, say one has 9GB free, playing TV shows & movie torrent files under that amount works fine on either Pulsar or Popcorntime, at least on my previous android box. For full Blu-ray rips with significantly bigger sizes, I haven't tried it yet, but will as I prefer downloading first & playing later. Who knows, might work.. Probably just needed bigger buffering area & a little more time to download far enough into the show or movie for smooth playback. In addition, one needs to tweak the advancedsettings.xml file to set an appropriate amount of cache space & streaming speed suitable for the box. KODI prefers to use RAM as buffer storage, which has much faster read & write speeds for smooth playback.. Setting zero caching or caching content on external storage devices, be it SD cards or hard disks is not optimal & one will run into troubles at a point or the other. Been vocal about this in the past. I'll put the Quasar addon through its paces & share it's performance later.
