what do u mean by 'don't know why dahon bother to make this model'
kinda new to the bicycle thingy, can explain more, tq

biggrin.gif

actually all these details u can find online..

speed falco is to replace the speed p8...
but for certain market only i think...

the speed p8 sold here in msia..
is cromo frame, lousy neos rd.. , neos twisting shifter.. 406 wheels..

the speed falco frm sg...
is cromo frame, altus rd, trigger shifter.. 451 wheels, with welded fd bracket..

the horize..
is alu frame, vise grip folding lock, 406 wheels, altus rd, revo shifter ...

speed p8 is 52t front, both falco n horize give u 1 gigi extra = 53 T laugh.gif ..

the Horize n falco from sg is exactly the JDM models...

http://dahon.jp/2014/product/Horize/index.html

u can't find the link in dahon global site to dahon jp site... why?

its a whole different world...

not to mention there is another diff dahon world.. which is the CDM.. china dahon...

so if u can get a falco or horize.. do get it...

cos u can demand a better resale price here in msia... laugh.gif

thanks for the suggestion.
speed falco selling at S$899 and Horize selling at S$750, which one is more worth to buy?
also considering to go to khass at jb to get speed p8 which cost rm1600.

for bout 300++rm more? i would go for horize...

the matt black one.. or silver...

cos for me, falco frame design... is kinda bosan ... alot in china got this frame...

cromo frame.. many ppl dun like ( they think alu better,,, )

406 wheels... more tyre choice,,,

longer seat tube... feels more solid... ? biggrin.gif

V-clamp joint... another feature to demand higher resale value....( earlier i typed vice grip.. so it is v-clamp)

horize suppose to be a bit lighter as well ....?

750sgd is oredi very good price...

cos speed p8 in usj selling 1949...

khass is different class.. laugh.gif

ya, i prefer the horize frame design also, matt black is cool.
but how abt the old model of speed p8? cos it is only sell at rm1600 which is rm200 cheaper compared to horize.

yes buying my first bike, don't really know all the technical terms. i heard the steel frame is better for vibration absorption.
seems like horize is a better model, just not sure whether the rm200 is really justify.

thx bro!!

summoning andrewhtf, can review the cassette pls...  tongue.gif

34T is it necessary ah? ATM the biggest cassette memang seldom use one, maybe i belum try perez lagi.. if kesas normal ride, gear shift oni 5th-7th gear

hey, sorry for late reply. i was locked out from LYN due to overzealous hardworking mod working overtime.

this is my review for my megarange cogs:

in normal flat riding, i doubt we would get to use the 34T. it is more suited for climbing places like sempah/frasers but even then i have yet to try it out there so i cant give review for it now. too chicken to do it. meanwhile 11T cog and 52T crank, while it is nice to have, you need strong legs in order to keep up a steady cadence. my legs are weak and i get tired easily at 11T so i am mostly staying in 13T & 15T for cruising pedalling. For this megarange cogset i think a 50T crank is the best combo, but since my ugo already came with 52T crank, i lazy to go change it lor...

all that being said above, in the end the legs are the main driver. need to train the legs and stamina, then the gearings will become secondary. i have seen fb postings of ppl riding ugo with stock 14-28T gearing up to cameron. itu really iron legs and iron lungs lah.

nonetheless if you must buy one, i would suggest for you to get an 8-speed 11-32T cogset. after tasting this megarange cog, 11-32T will have much more linear progression at the expense of not having a 34T for steep climbs. again, pair it with a 50T crank is much more sensible for this cog.

I have a Neos RD but a Sram twist shifter on my D7. Love it, simple and very precise!! Maybe the problem is the Neos shifter??

Also love the Cromoly frame!
