May I know what is the common size that is allowed into train e.g. KTM etc? 16" is just too small for my size and if possible, I wanted to get something like 26" like Hummer foldies.

Just came back from Lerun Warehouse Sale. Is it more worth to buy Tern Link Uno at RM1000 or Dr. Hon Boardwalk at RM950?

QUOTE(quineMc @ Apr 19 2014, 04:28 PM) tern link uno selling at rm1000 in that warehouse sale? Yes. They only have 5 foldies and 3 out of them are Polygon (RM749 to RM899). The other one was Tern Link Uno (RM1k, grey colour) and Dr. Hon Boardwalk (RM950, green colour). There was also a defective Tern Link P24 which was being sold for cheaper but no price was stated (internal hub problem). As for the bicycles, you need to pay first and they will ship it to your doorstep within 3-4 days.

QUOTE(outdoorxplorer @ Apr 29 2014, 08:19 AM) I have a question here. What is the main purpose of your folding bike, health and fitness, commuting, short excursions, touring etc.? The purpose of having a bicycle in the first place could be due to many different reasons. For me, it's as an exercise, and at the same time, it doesn't emit any pollution and my cost to maintain it is relatively low. And then the purpose of having a foldie could be a standard reason - compact and easy to keep inside the house, car etc and can bring it along when using public transport. Of course, some also get a foldie coz they just love it.

What is the difference between Dahon Speed Uno and Tern Link Uno? (Except for the brand). Which one is a better buy?

QUOTE(Kokomin @ May 3 2014, 12:04 PM) At current prices between the two bikes the Link Uno is the better buy. The Link Uno is RM1800 or less now. The Speed Uno should be about RM1200. About RM600 less. But it is not. The difference is less than RM300. The Link Uno has front brakes and mudguards installed. If you want single speed aluminium foldie, you better act fast and grab the few remaining in the shops now. I heard the dealers are not restocking. The Speed Uno is one of Dahon bestsellers in the US. I'm sure Tern will have their version out soon. Cool. Thanks. Went to Rodalink Bangsar today and they had one unit of Tern Link Uno but the price was still RM18XX. Will continue looking around.

QUOTE(H2D @ May 10 2014, 07:12 PM) Faao72 is the model code for cdm dahon, china domestic market, if u can find tis model on dahon china website, then tis is real dahon. Oso there is the red cdm sticker on the chainstay, as u can see frm the pic. But the seller have to sell the same bike as in the pic. Cos in china they put the code but the bike name not dahon, for eg fnhon. Then it is replica.. haha.. Oh, something new to me. Hehe, thanks for the info.

Just came back after my first ride with my new bike. Was at Titiwangsa and saw a whole lot of cyclists. Wanted to say hi but was a little shy. They were all with their Tern / Dahon bikes and I was just with my China Hummer. Riding outdoor was a lot fun and challenging, except for the little fear of cars and other motorists.

QUOTE(monster2020 @ May 17 2014, 10:21 AM) Halo Just have some nob question to ask. I am planning to get this Tern Link uno Do you all think is worth the money ? Currently the rodalink is having promo that cost is less 1.4k. what i use for this bike is for normal cycling with my wife around my living area some time need to cycle with friend around 40km ride. do you think this bike is ok for this 2 task ? How much is Rodalink promo? Recently, Lerun Warehouse was selling it for just RM950 or RM1K. I don't think it is suitable for long distance ride. It will be a struggle for a single speed bike.

Trinx FA1606 vs XDS FA16, which one will be a better buy? XDS is a 7speed bike and Trinx is 6 speed. Price wise XDS is abt RM300 to RM400 more expensive but Trinx looks more complete with fenders and the back metal thingy.
And is there any other 16" option (available in Malaysia)?

QUOTE(terryble @ May 26 2014, 05:05 PM) this baby cost around USD 2750~~about RM9,000~~ looks superb if u ask me~~just dunno hows the riding feel~~ Based on some comments from the video itself, looks like the quality is abysmal. Not worth the price. But the folding style is definitely impressive.

In Malaysia, is it okay to ride a bicycle on a pedestrian walk? I see this is common in Singapore but in Malaysia, I am looked one kind when I do so.
The reason I choose to ride on a pedestrian walk sometimes is because of safety. The road traffic condition is bad and all the motorcyclists who are going on the most left of the road will not be happy to see me riding a bicycle and blocking their way.

QUOTE(StarScream01 @ Jun 7 2014, 09:51 PM) which shop in 1 monthkiara? how long the sales? It's like a roadshow, by Rodalink. It's at ground floor. Also saw other foldies like Java, XDS etc and MTBs. The roadshow is from 6th to 15th June. This post has been edited by ViRaViRa: Jun 7 2014, 11:13 PM

BTW, is there anywhere that I can install a front v-brake for my Tern Link Uno? I asked the sales person when buying and he said not possible because I can't fold the bike then. Dahon MU Uno has a slightly different folding which makes it able to fold even with optional front brake.
That was according to the sales person. Great if anyone can share on whether this is possible because I don't want to depend 100% on coaster brake.
