Ubike from taiwan, is yet another folding bike maker who claims
to have improved the folding joint..
with beefed up components.
a push tab to unlock.
quick release lock instead of magnet to hold the fold.

dry lube looks dirty to me too.

dry lube is suppose to attract less dust n won't have that much stain when u accidentally touch it.
try it, tho it might be pricey.

i am a motorbiker. chain cleaning and lubing is essential for steady wear rate and prolong chain life.  also a lubed chain is less noisy than a dry one. but that is on motorbike. on bicycle where less torque (relative to a bike) are applied on the chain and cogs, i may understand your view.

however habits just die hard and i would lube it with a thin coat of oil when possible. just like my motorcycle chain, i would wipe with a rag cloth soaked with WD40, leave dry, then just run a line of singer oil onto the whole chain and then go for a short ride to cycle through all the cogs. however singer oil is a tad too wet so some fling-off are possible. old engine oil meanwhile is dirty as they grease up with dirt over time. dry lube looks dirty to me too.

Motorbike highspeed ler, different. That one sure need lube.
WD40 I dare not to try, it looks like it makan everything for me, from rust to oil, it just makan all.. Apocalyptic!

I'm thinking to try candlewax on the chain. Workable?
And I've a few bottles of car waxing liquid(just spray and let it dry type), workable? hmm.gif

For quiet running and smooth shifting, you must lube the chain and pivot joints of your derailleur. Bicycle maintenance is not a clean job, just wear disposable gloves.

WD40 is not a lubricant, do not use on chains. Always use lubricant designed for chains. Less wear on chains, chains stretches less, less wear on sprockets.

no it is not. but it is a good, non-oil cutting cleaning agent. like kerosene.

Yes, I do use it to clean oily surfaces, but not spraying into chains or bearings as it will dry it out.

Well i do apply WD40 on the chain and wipe it clean with cloth before applying another layer of chain lube~~~

i watch it on youtube~~the guy mention WD40 has very strong penetration power~~but not meant to act as lubricants~~

I have used the Terb Verge P18 and the Brompton.

As an excellent long term solution for multimode transport the Brompton wins.
For leisure rides and budget constraints then the Tern.

Think about luggage options. A bike is not just for carrying people. But bags too.

After you have bought a foldable then only you will understand what each type of bike's particular advantages are.

For the Tern, I don't like the folding and portability.
Fold it and see how stable it stands by itself. Imagine rolling it around a train station.

Cheers.
