Oh?  What foldie you have that cannot be wheeled in folded position?

I have a few foldies and all I have taken on LRT during Rush hour and I don't carry them, I just roll them on the floor either on one wheel or two.

I made sure that it can roll better without the fold coming apart and also that I can just hold the bike with one hand and roll it.  The other hand is free to carry anything else.

I just had a quick look at some Ugo bikes. It folds into half right?

I have 3 bikes that also fold into half.
So this is how I make sure it can roll with only one hand holding it.

1. I fold down the handlebars.
2. I then fold the bike into half.
3. For the seat post, I do not push it down all the way. I twist the saddle 90 degrees... this saddle is actually what i will use to hold the bike when pushing it. I push the saddle down a bit but not too much. Now the bike becomes like a trolley with a long handle (saddle is used to navigate left or right )

I normally roll it on one wheel, normally the front wheel as it can go front and backwards. The rear wheel will be blocked by the pedals if you roll it backwards.

So some bikes, it will accidentally unfold at the wrong time.. For this problem, I use a velcro to tie the fork and the rear frame together to make sure it doesn't unfold.

One more thing: I will use a black cloth /canvas to cover the chainwheel with the sharp teeth. This is to prevent any accidental knocking into other people and dirtying their clothes on the train.

So I will roll this bike past the LRT staff looking at me during rush hour. no problems.

Don't get what you mean a b or a bike a B  rclxub.gif

I think a solution would be to backpack the folded bicycle.

Gosh the converted price is more than RM300 excluding shipping. Do you guys know where to get something like this in KL at a reasonable price?
*
tht pack can fit a B = brompton or smaller bike la...

it will be more troublesome depends on how u wana use the bike around town..

best is to wheel it... if nothing happens then u just con't to do it tht way.....

for who had question me what hub i used for my vybe c7a,here you go.this is my NOVATECH hub.as you can see got extra hole in those hub coz its 32spoke hub on 28spoke rims tongue.gif

just for sharing,
this is my latest setup on my vybe.9 speed with 55t shocking.gif crank single chainring i took from my verge p9 and change the chain into the lighten one and its gold cool2.gif

this is the shifter,if im not mistaken its shimano claris

and i know with the current setup crank (55t blink.gif ) and single chainring system, its kind of hard for me to climb on my journey (touring mode!), so i decided to mix 2 cassettes to be one as i took the 32t & 34t into my current cassette

i try to used the shimano Sora RD took from the verge on my vybe, somehow it cannot be fit.
so i used the neos 7 RD (stock RD) for the time being before i find the RD Hanger to fit the Sora RD.a few tweaks on the FD (my friend fine tune the RD), so im on 9 speed.as i heard before normal RD can + or - 2 gears from factory tune.so its proven rclxms.gif

as im scouting RD hanger,so i decided to change the jockey wheel (known as RD Wheel) to sealed bearings alloy type on my next move..

Yup can see the 6 holes for a 6-bolt rotor, rear should be same spacing 135mm wide, but for front hubs most Dahons use 74mm opening as far as I know Novatec only makes 100mm MTB spec front hubs. But of course, only the rear hub needs to be changed if want to change cassette wink.gif

Bro ur shifter looks like Alivio, but what brake lever are you using ah? looks very lightweight and well made

thanks for the guide, but i dont think will be using LRT anymore, just drive straight into KL, find a parking nearby and then pedal off from there.
if ever i am going to take KTM to other state, i already bought bags so might as well use it.

this is how mrs samo carried her foldie.
i carried mine similarly.

alternatively, if you have a long strap bag like this one, strap it across your shoulder and chest for better stability.

I've thought of these, as they're sold on the Tern / Dahon sites I browsed through earlier. But I find them too bulky, would prefer a backpack for more convenience and ergonomics, and also for visual appeal. Wondering if you know where I can search for such foldie-sized backpacks? Just like this? http://www.carradice.co.uk/index.php?page_...&product_id=113 I would have this particular one imported but it's just too exorbitantly priced after currency conversion. If I can't find, then yes obviously I'll have to settle for the carry-ons as you posted.

Oh that's great news. Which station do you board, and around what time?

Yeap that's what I meant. Peace of mind. But as budgee mentioned above it doesn't seem to be a problem.

My XDS 270 I've tried (and failed) to roll it on 2 wheels, it shakes too much. Will take your advise from the next post and try. Anyway just bought from Mike Bicycle Shop a Dahon Carryon, planning to use that as seems the most elegant solution. I think for 20 inch bike can't use backpack, and anyway for commuting I will have to carry laptop in backpack.

My 20 inch bike, in this position, I can roll it around on one wheel which is a balancing act. With practice by holding the saddle and rolling it on the front wheel, it gets easier. Sometimes, I will even lower the saddle even more so that my arms are straight downwards and I just keep on walking in this position, still balancing it on one wheel. Looks like I am wheeling a trolley. smile.gif

Just twist the saddle so that it points to the left.. more space to hold on to it.

After work about 6:20 pm, I have wheeled my bike into Masjid Jamek or KLCC LRT.

Mornings, at about 8:45 am, I have my bike in at Taman Jaya, Asia Jaya or Paramount LRT to go to Masjid Jamek or KLCC LRT.
