wandering any XDS AFB foldie bike user here? wanna know how their quality and reliability

hi guys, im new in this and i wonder what your takes on this?

at the price of 1.4k, are there other better options?

The foldie I was using before was a Giant Halfway, only 7 speed.... I'm now building a Dahon Vitesse P9 using Shimano 105 parts. My other bikes are full size road bikes.

Got other bike shop cheaper than usj...
Usj online ad too much.. so price oso ++$$$

Their price is no doubt higher compared to all other sellers...
nowadays with internet so convenience...they still prefer to go for the high price...i doubt that is a right strategy~~

anyway put price aside...how is their services? who knows if their services are top notch~

u wan get good bargain... try those further away like kajang, dengkil, seri kembangan, batu caves etc..
some where earlier in v2 or got mention, oso read those post by sifu etige u will find info there....

got few comments oredi earlier... search u can find...

search speedgear u can find some comments by sifu etige...

means the components are more lower grade, but price oso about the same...

Using XDS AFB 160 (old model, 8 speed acera). I think components are quite decent, prowheel crankset, tektro brakes, acera shifters. The frame seems solid enough although there's some creaking sounds here and there. Ride it mainly on roads, very light offroads some times. Used to practice some jumps / endo also. Haha. So far so good. I bought mine used at RM600. So for that price, totally no complains.

i oni advice tht if u wan cheaper, u can try shop further away, not those
at upmarket area,

anyway there's a few way u can find out, just use ur phone to call n check,

i saw on xds bike got sticker evanda.com.my

i check, this site kong, mebe they din pay the host

so u find out if this evanda is still alive, if yes, u ask them about xds cos they r dist,
n ask them they got stock or not, ask them to help u find the bike shop tht got
the xds model that u wan...

one thing i notice about xds folding joint is

it is really flat on both sides( wana save cost n time?), imo this kinda joint , the tightness is 'weaker' than other
design.



so u have to consider other bikes as well...

JBS bicycle shop at jalan Genting kelang got XDS

hmm icic, just saw the AFB 670, seem not bad...maybe need go test 1st see how good it is, very dilemma now lol

I might not pay 1.5k for XDS though. As H2D said, the frame / joints look more simple and cheap compared to better brands. Then again, I don't feel any flex from the frame joint. My handle bar flexes and squeaks quite a bit.

Subang Jaya SS14 has 2 bike shops. One sells cheaper XDS, Raleigh Ugo, Speedgears. Another Lerun shop has Dahons. You can go and compare the quality and see.

ok, will do check up, i think i maybe end up with dahon or JAVA or Tern foldie , XDS look too mess for me lol
