Initially on my mind decided to buy SpeedGear foldies for 2 units ( Me + Wife ). So without hesitation, i visited a shop in Seri Kembangan to get more close up on the mention foldies. On the appearance & spec, the Speedgear foldies looks attractive with 16 speed, shimano gearshift + gearset, good body design. But when i test drive the unit, it really disappointment me due to misalignment front shaft, body frame feel like loosen, etc. Im pretty upset cos not really like it after test drive and going empty handed too. I look for alternative foldies to try out.....the bike is Dahon Vybe C7S & Tern Link C7, although these 2 foldies consider as the cheapest model for DAHON & TERN, but once i tested, i can say this is the foldies that i looking for, without hesitation i bought the 2 units with some gift offer + discount.
Im still waiting for my incoming foldies on this week......

I had a friend who was interested at this bike as well. He went to a shop who informed him that these bikes flew off the shelves but had many problem so in the end he stopped selling. I was interested too at this bike. I think they are a few owners here maybe they will reply you.

There is variety of foldies brand outside market, important is we check on the quality and test drive if possible to feel it ourself.

Superb place to cycle...except during sembayang time at Presinct 1~~the whole city is basically empty~~

Long stretch of straight and flat roads with beautiful view~~

super highly recommended~~

Stupid question for sifus here. I'm not a rider, never own foldie before. Saw this groupon deal http://www.groupon.my/deals/national-deal/...d-2-5/718409219

I know this is likely ciplak China stuff (and more ciplak than the normal ones you all discussing), but just would like your comment - how much worse off? Would it be unusable? Please help me criticize it =)

Its difficult to give opinion based on the picture. The best is you visit those bicycle shop and tested it.

I agree too...but he ask for opinion.
Im also new in foldies too...and im initially set up my mind buy the Speedgear foldies since its offer with good price with accessories, thinking wanna buy it online too, but change my mind at last. I make up my mind go shop to look for comparison between expensive & cheap foldies. Finally, im end up with Dahon & Tern. But of course have to see your budget also.

Rules of thumb:

Good quality folding bikes are never cheap.

1st complaint from my buddy Hummer Foldie (China made), the main frame hinge easily get loose. Need to regularly tighten before/after each trip.
