i don't think you'll need the vga cable. spec sheet says it has RGB analog ports and those cables (component) come with the xbox 360, assuming you buy elite or pro.
nice monitor find btw. i'm looking for one as well. might buy this one for the analog ports =D edit: scratch that. after a little research, i found that all samsung spec sheets have 'RGB component' on them as video input. so i'm guessing that means RGB component refers to analog VGA. my mistake ,sry This post has been edited by chinook: Sep 25 2008, 09:19 PM |

A friend of mine managed to get a hold of a few ripped HD movies lately and gave them to me. Was watching it on my computer screen when I got an epiphany - why don't I stream it to my 360(and HDTV)?
Sadly, the files were in .mkv form and the 360 does not accept that format. Fortunately, there is a solution! And here it is... GOTSENT Guide This program lets you re-encode/re-packet your video files into a different format suitable(.mp4) for your game consoles. It takes about an hour to re-packet a h-264 video and close to 12 hours to re-encode the same video with subtitles on my 3 year old pc. ^i think all new xbox 360 come with lite-on dvd drive.. not sure about the performance/noise but u need to search around. i heard benq is less noise compare to hitachi/samsung. not sure about lite-on though

hey just curious.. i might wanna buy a really good set of surround speakers for my 360 and logitech Z series looks nice for that, but i noticed there's an optical output at the component HDTV cable. Should i get a speaker with an optical input and just plug it in to enjoy true 5.1 Digital?, but if the 360 already can decode its 5.1 sound then wut about speaker set like logitech Z5500 that hv its own decoder? got wut i mean?
