Hot on the heels of Microsoft slashing Xbox 360 prices in Japan, the long rumored price cuts for the Xbox 360 in the U.S. look to be a reality. And yes, the Xbox 360 Arcade model will now be cheaper than the Nintendo Wii. Based on Radio Shack and Walmart advertising pamphlets, as well as Best Buy and GameStop employee reports, Newsarama is reporting that the most substantial cut is being reserved for the “starter” Xbox 360 Arcade, which only ships with a 256 megabyte memory card.



The Xbox 360 Arcade will drop from $279 to $199 starting September 7, pricing it below the current going rate for the Nintendo Wii. And Microsoft isn’t leaving the Pro or Elite models out of the party. The Pro and its new 60 gigabyte harddrive will drop from $349 to $299, while the 120 gb Elite model will drop from $449 to $399. No cuts have been announced for the 20 gb Pro models, and Microsoft has yet to confirm the other price drops. Of course, the evidence has been out there for quite a while now.

yes u can get from US. but games also need to get from US.unless can get a region free games here.

Q1: If you r frustrated to get Elite, go to some trusted site like play-asia.com, http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-14-71-bq-49-en.html since they ship from Hongkong, u can get it quite fast and service is reliable too. Flaw is the console is Japan version which means u must get either Japanese or Asia region code games.

Q2: If you wanna get a duty-free xbox  , go for ebay, find a reliable seller, check his/her profile rating tat ship internationally, request seller not wrap ur console and accessories in original retail box, then request for write "Gift" in custom form and included hard copy invoice tat stated as lowest item price as possible. If this trick works, the postman will ring your door bell, not the custom ppl.

first i wanna apologize if creating this new topic for such a question, but im really out of choices. 

Question #1:
i wish to buy a brand new Xbox 360 Elite set, but almost every shop (even Nelson's and Bernard's shop) i call they dont have it in stock. so say Microsoft no longer manufactures it, some say there's no stock atm and will have some coming in soon~ well, been waiting for close to a month n still no news on it~ 

i am sure there are some shops in KL which do have it in stock, but i have no idea where else to check or call.   

would really appreciate it if anyone here who knows where i can buy a brand new one, plz let me know will belanja you mamak!!! if your in Klang valley la~

another thing, i have however found some Elite consoles from shops in USA, but will their console work for us here? and if i were to buy it, will i have to pay taxes at customs if they ship it here?
