Do you guys think I should buy the Xbox 360 here in Australia (only RM920 for the 60gb version + 3 ori games), or go back to Malaysia and buy a mod one for RM1,400? How trusted are malaysia stall? Will they change some of my ori stuff in the sys?

Please advice guys.

That's quite a good deal, however, if you bring back the Australian system, you're not gonna find a lot of PAL games available here, since mostly they are NTSC/J. If you don't intend on playing on Xbox Live (you're missing a lot), go for a modded one. If you do want to go online, then go all original since your xbox is a ticking timebomb for the banhammer. IMHO, a 360 without xbox live is not even half the total x-perience.

Thanks for the info buddy. I don't think I can afford to go into Xbox live too much as I am on a capped 60gb a month plan. Therefore not enough bandwith to play online games (I d/l a lot).

Do you think I will be able to mod an xbox purchased from Australia? And will i be able to play other region games beside PAL?

hi, I'm also currently in Aussie and since Australia only has PAL xbox360, I end up buying 360 (asia) online. If you plan on getting more games in malaysia (if you returned later), then perhaps you might want to buy ntsc asia version. I just bought mine a week ago, from this site.

and if I'm not mistaken you can mod the 360 bought in aussie, via Flash (reversible?). I'm not too sure about the details, since I only got informed by my friend. Plus I'm not planning to mod my 360.

As said, if you mod the console, you are taking half the fun away as live is actually great. When you are saying 60G caps a month on your broadband, will you be planning to stay in OZ long? Or you will be returning to M'sia? If you are planning returning to M'sia then it would be best getting an Asian Console.

And that return to the point where if you just want to play xbox because of the game or because of the gaming community. I would say a lot of us got the xbox because of the community as well. As much as it is fun playing solo, the live part is truly an eye opener. Playing with a bunch of friends, nothing can replicate that.

Thanks for the advice guys. I just bought my Xbox360 60gb today for AUD$305 (RM671). Got 3 free games with it (Kung Fu Panda, Lego Indiana and The Simpsons). Bought Assasins Creed for AUD$34 as well. Now I have to bring it back to Malaysia to claim back 10% GST from the Australian Government.

You guys know how much is the controller in Malaysia? (as there is only one in the box)

Controller I think ranges from 150-200. why don't you try play-asia. sometimes there are good bargains there for controller. and if you are into limited edition, get the red colour limited edition.

Btw, great price you got for the xbox. Aussie rate is only 2.2 now?

Yeah man, my mum told me 2.2. Freaking bad time for me to come home this year. But then again, it's making electronic goods here very cheap. Just got an Ipod Nano 8gb yesterday for $167.

I am now thinking of buying the Microsoft Xbox wireless control (that can be use in PC) as Microsoft has a promo whereby I can get $25 cash back. But then I need to buy the Charge and Play kit seperately. Do you guys just use normal rechargable batteries? Or is it better to use standard xbox 360 baterries?

Im interested to get a new XBOX 360 at coming CNY. However will it be a good time? What is the standard price for the unit in Penang? I just hope they wont suddenly raise the price at CNY....

And i often heard the fatally 3 rings of death that end the life of the console. I wonder usually how long they have owned the console before seeing the ROD? and the overheating problem... usually how long will it last before getting overheated? or i should say how long can i play/ on it for consecutive hour?

@ above : every 5 mins? @_@'

well for me, it's advisable to stop every 2 hours.
the duration depends on how hot your room is.. or your console is..

remember, the RROD will happen and you can't avoid it.. even if its not 3 RROD, you'll get the 2 RROD.. both sucks to be frank..
