just bought an arcade xbox360. decided to play on my lcd monitor just like ps3 so I plug in the hdmi to dvi cable.

then tried to plug in the audio cable given with the box(red and white) but it seems that it take a lot of space covering the hdmi port too..

so its either use the hdmi OR the red/white/yellow cable(the normal one to connect to tv)..

I only have 14 inch tv and my lcd dont have audio output, so yeah, im screwed! laugh.gif cannot fully experience the game sad.gif

EDIT: oh wait, just noticed that my LCD still got VGA output, theres hope! off to buy the xbox360 vga cable laugh.gif

Try Jalan Pasar. Should have plenty of choices there. Make sure u let them know the power rating for your power brick or simply just snap a pic with phone and show them.

Cheers.

not sure where to ask, but going to buy xbox soon, wondering if i keep the console horizontal will it reduce the chance of getting 3RoD? from what I understand it's due to the heat sink paste melting onto GPU components? so if it doesn't melt down and melts side instead it will take longer to have a big effect?
thx in advance

Just to let you know I have never put my console in vertical position since I bought it in March 08. It 3rod few days ago and I do the x-clamp the thermal paste still melt to the side of the chip.

thanks a lot for this faqs, this answered a lot of my questions!

I'm thinking of buying xbox 360. I'm currently studying in Australia, hence all Xbox360 sold here are pal while I'm looking for ntsc version or else I'd have problem looking for games when I returned to Malaysia next 2 years. I mostly more into jrpg and hence am thinking of buying some titles like infinite undiscovery/tales of vesperia, which I believe is region-coded (correct me if I'm wrong).

based on the game comparison in page 1, it seems like I'd better off with ntsc/j

Just a question: If I buy xbox360 from PlayAsia (Jap version), do I need to have stepdown transformer to play it in Australia?

you would have to as Japan is 110V while in OZ it is still 220-240V, why don't you get an asia version instead?

thanks for the reply. I'm thinking of buying jap version because as stated in page 1, it seems like most asia titles works on jap version, but some aren't for jap titles in asia version (and I've browsed a bit of the region-coded games too).

In addition, I don't know any other place to order xbox 360 online to ship to aussie other than PlayAsia, and most of the system offered in PlayAsia are japan version. There is one Asia version, but the manufacture date is in 2006, meaning it's not Falcon chip. I heard this chip has less risk of getting rrod.

ok, thanks for the reply. After browsing through this thread and some e-bay products, I realise that stepdown transformer is quite bulky, heavy and consume huge amount of electricity, not to mention the price adds further the cash I need to spent to play =(

So anyone know any reliable site where I can buy xbox 360 ASIA version online which provide delivery service to Australia?
e-bay is kinda unreliable (warranty issue I suppose), while Play-Asia only has Japan version (there's one asia version, but not falcon chip).

edit: so far I found one that really attract me, here (asia version, released Aug 2008, ~USD350). Any opinion?

You need to buy a step down converter since Voltage here is 240V.Also make sure the converter is 300W.
