Why so negative about LDRs? It's workable, if only both parties are really committed to it and each other.
Mine's been going on for more than 2 years now (although I've been with my gf for almost 5), and we're still pretty much in love.

yeapp comitment.. me 8 years. 6 years LDR + 2 year near.
we can only see each other bout1 a year.. adn take us only bout 3 or 4 days when we meet.
when we first meet.. we staying bout 20 minute drive. but then.. after 2 year.. she in melaka and im in miri.
then i study at kuching.. she still melaka.. holiday not in the same time.
so im in kuching..when she holiday..she abck to miri..
when im in kuching.. shes in melaka.
then...when im going to kl, her family move to kuching.
so every year. when im going back to miri.. i take a flight and stay at kuching for 3 days or 4. then i back to miri.
we never celebrate raya together. coz her granfather in kuching.. so since our first year together.. she always back to kuching and im in miri.
lanning gong to kuching this oct. almost a year since our last met.
we also live together bout 4 month in kl after she finished her study.. but its really a real disaster..when you stay together for 4 great month..but then have to saparate again..
the first few week is like hell..
sometime... i feel like.. god dont want us to be together.. coz everytime we try to be near... we will be more far apart..
there the time she almost move to australia. i get really sad.. thank god its canceled.
going to get married by the end of 2007.
