The green tint is a white balance issue, because the problem is consistent if you point at certain places and it doesn't propagate like purple tint. My guess is poorly optimized software for this particular sensor (Omnivision), I am reluctant to send in my unit again for a replacement due to long lead time, and praying for HTC to fix it via software update.

In a way, the green tint issue is more annoying than purple tint because it happened on day time especially when there are some "warm looking tone" where I personally found myself taking more picture on those time.

Also, I found that the auto-focus mechanism is not as good on this module, low light condition, the auto-focus is indecisive as compared to previous ST microelectronic module, I didn't do extensive testing but just from personal account but I could be wrong.

So far I found a temporary fix via editing the while balance on HTC stock gallery app but it nonetheless a hassle and made me use the camera lesser than before.

Maybe the part itself is faulty and it's beyond their control? lol

Paid 2299 for this phone with "Purple Tinted Issue" once the phone launched...
After claimed use 2 weeks same problem again !!
Now heard some user after claimed solved "Purple Tinted Issue" but now infected by "Green Tinted Issue" !!
Sorry to say to HTC !!! Bye... Bye...
Overall phone performance is acceptable except the camera full of issues...

the HTC One X only.

Just called them up today after a not so satisfying online reply from HTC. The call center told me my phone is under repair stage and should come back to me latest by end of next week. Praying for a problem free phone at long last.

Hmm as for me, provided everything bodes well, I'll wait for M9 or some other flagship since my contract is due on June 2015. M8 is not compelling enough for an upgrade IMHO.

For me Latest batch all perfect, no more issue.

The lady whom i talked to says the purple tint is "normal".
and if i replace another unit the problem will still persist.
