Is there any delay to wakeup when its in sleep mode?

And also, if its powered off (I off power switch every nite when sleep) must have to press the button on the box to power on? as i tried the remote power button doesnt work either.

Btw also, i didnt quite exactly know which is the "front" of the box... the power button on the box is on the right-side now.

do check if the phone line will be affected or not.

u will need to get the id and password from maxis to set up when changing router.

not sure about other things for maxis...

the sellers in the shops should be able to advise - pay them a visit.

or check the relevant section in lyn - lots of threads on such things!

If i'm using ethernet cable to the box, would you recommend changing the router also? or would it not make much difference?

for light use, there is no big need, ethernet or wifi.

but, i find a better router also does good to ethernet - it is more stable, get max speed more often. better hardware surely improve things all round.

keep in mind the router is YOUR property, you will need to replace when it fails. so, if it quite old, not a bad idea to change.

Here's the thing, currently the Neo U1 is still being "tested" and frankly I'd rather recommend its older brother pending further performance confirmations (firmware is still being tweaked). Why? I've personally used the Neo X8-H Plus and can vouch for its capabilities. Playing 3D files being no issue. However, in light of Minix's history, the Neo U1 should at a minimum, theoretically do all that the X8-H Plus did plus slightly more (due to better hardware). So for future-proofing, maybe go for the U1. Remember to come leave a personal review here for others to profit...

A. Shutdown with box still plugged in to electrical mains?.... Must press & hold down (briefly.. abt 2-3 seconds) the physical button on the box to start up.
B. Sleep mode from either the power button on remote or button on box's side or onscreen menu/app? Box still plugged in to electrical mains.... Press power button on remote while pointing to IR receiver or power button on box's side to wake up.

Correct, facing forward... The WiFi antenna is on the left side (closer to the back), the power button is on the right side, closer to the front. The IR receiving area is close to the dim blue LED light signaling the box is powered on. If still experiencing IR-related issues (you shouldn't) and can't claim warranty, there are folks who have suggested drilling holes into the box to improve IR reception. See here. Opening the box looks doable.

i have only used tm, d-link and asus routers. asus is my choice.

ac... meaning dual band with 2.4 and 5ghz.

i have not tried 5ghz but from what i read..., no interference with neighboring wifi users (on 2.4ghz). it is high throughout but the physics tell us due to the shorter wavelength, the losses are also higher for same distance, no good for longer distances. this option is probably v good for highrise, compact areas, high density residents.

i suppose if u can afford it, have dual band to see which one works better is good!

Thanks for the advise. I will be getting an android tv box end of next month, n if i can, i will definitely go for the one with newer hardware for future-proofing, right now i can see Himedia H8 n Minix are the brands that most talked about in lyn ... which also happen to released their new box recently.

So, im still doing homework before purchase n torn between this 2.

There are a number of WiFi transfer apps in the Play Store... I prefer AirDroid: File Transfer/Manage, but will occasionally use SHARE it - File Transfer.

Hi all... nowadays router comes with USB ports which can connect to hard drive (like NAS). The problem is i cannot access the drive from android box but can easily map network drive from windows system. Is there any apps that i need or is there any other option to access network connected drive from android box? Thanks in advance.
