It's sufficient for certain streams and or downloads.. Not ideal though.. Some buffering is expected.

Hmm.. Been awhile since me last Hulu subscription.. It did work on the Minix Neo U1. Though if it's just Hulu Plus that interests you, consider Google's Chromecast instead.

AFAIK, Not all amlogic chips... Could be the firmware loaded onto the box.

Can't say it's surprising.. however, this is quite interesting.. From the first link (Kodi forum).

I see... One of two things then...
*Visit the manufacturer's website and or google for a possible firmware update matching (exactly) the model. Manually flash over the current firmware... or.
*Continue usage as is.

The Minix Neo U1...

Buffering of such IPTV services can be any or a combination of the following...
*Hardware
*Firmware and or even the app itself.
*Internet connection.
*Congested servers (streaming source).

Head over to the Minix forums.. Download the latest official firmware and perform a "clean" flash via PC.

Cuz there's no need to stream/download DTS-ish & larger files only to downmix HD audio back to stereo. Just play the smaller and readily accessible files with stereo sound... Those who possess the proper equipment to play HD audio know we'll to obtain and play em.

Meh.. Not interested... Ships from March or May next year.. Probably later in the year.. Good luck to backers.. I'd rather wait for the device to ship first and real world usage data.. Or simply the successor to the Nvidia Shield TV box.. For now, the Neo U1 is quite sufficient.

Some light reading and videos later... The Remix OS sounds great (claims easy run of Android & or Android TV apps) and with PC like functionality interesting. Page also shows it has 5.1 audio passthrough.. Didn't list out specific formats though, so that's up for debate later.

Try here for a possible update. As always flash at your own risk. You may need to contact the seller for additional help. Know that the seller does NOT owe you additional help. There are reasons why boxes with official manufacturer support exist.

The Sixaxis Controller app does not work across all controllers and devices. So make sure your controller (mainly PlayStation 3 and 4 DualShock controllers) and device is compatible with the Sixaxis Controller app.

I owned a Minix Neo X8-H Plus and was able to connect and play games on it with the PS3 controller. Controller also acts as a remote control of sorts... Navigating and buttons clicking. No mouse-type feature. However, upon upgrading to the Minix Neo U1, the PS3 controller isn't compatible. The PS4 controller is compatible though. Quick silly questions..
*Box fully rooted?
*Original PS3 controller?
*Sure the controller itself is working? Try not using the SixAxis controller app and just directly connect via USB. Worked for me last time.

If all the above and it still doesn't work.. You might be forced to get a third-party controller... Like those from IPEGA... These have a much higher compatibility rate with android devices out there and do not (AFAIK) require the Sixaxis Controller app, and in most cases, no app at all for basic game-play functions. Just a healthy Bluetooth connection and a compatible device.

That's too bad.. At this point, can only suggest that the box be rooted. Then try wired and wireless.. If it still doesn't work, then must be an incompatibility issue between the box & the controller.. You are welcome.

There are a lot of models out there. I suggest you stick to well known & more android friendly models like those from IPEGA.. But first find out which model is indeed compatible, not just with your box, but the current firmware.

Sounds like a good controller with decent battery life.. Using a pair or 2..rechargeable AA batteries & charger come in handy.

That's one very "don't expect much from.. I am so cheapo" box.. Should work for your primary needs.. Major concern would be build quality..

Depends on the processors being compared. IMO, Amlogic is currently leading... Example- The older Amlogic S905 is better than Rockchip's RK3368 & RK3229.

Nope.. I do believe it's slightly more expensive.. Also performs better. Doesn't face the poor video processing & bottleneck issues which troubles most RK CPUs.

Tried on a smartphone running 6.0.1 and its not working. App installs and launches.. Attempts to play any channel (tried more than 10 different links) ends up with the error message as below... help translating?

Thanks for translating... Reinstalled the app just in case.. Checked the permissions and all is granted. Tried disabling the location permission, but the permission manager reports that;

So not an issue with permissions... Also swithching between hardware/hardware+ decoding modes made no difference... Streams still aren't working.. Its alright.. Other options exist.. Was simply testing the app for GuyM.

Spotify, Tidal.. Get a subscription.. It's cheap.

Could mean that the app's friendlier on TV boxes than smartphones. So more like a firmware issue and not OS version.

Nvdia Android TV Box V2 incoming.

It's been over a year and the current gen box still remains king. A mighty feat in today's fast paced tech world.. Nvidia best not screw this up while they are ahead... 2017!!

IKR... Looks quite sharp to grip..no? Hope not.. A more solid and yet rubbery feel would be nice. Don't want to get my hopes up till the actual product release.
