What's the version number of the currently installed firmware? Latest is FW11. The Neo X8-H plus has an OTA update feature. So either you are already on the latest firmware or the firmware you have installed is too old and doesn't have OTA updates built in. Either way, head over to the official Minix forum and you'll see instructions there.

Last I checked, the Neo X8-H Plus will not (at least officially) be getting a Lollipop update.

At this point or in the near future, you might be thinking about a hardware upgrade.. It appears that Kodi is important to you and desire its update. With the exception of the likes of Nvidia Shield TV box... Hold off on purchasing newer hardware till this whole Kodi v17+ is sorted out by chipset and box manufacturers. You are welcome..

Yes, I meant getting a newer and better device. Same here, over 90% of my box's usage is through Kodi. From Krypton, the Kodi folks have made their move.. Now, we find out if it's that important to make manufacturers step up too. My money is on yes..

Minix Neo U1 better than the MiBox? Yes, no doubts. However, specs-wise and if you have a 4K HDR TV, get the HiMedia Q10 Pro (some mandarin may be required) instead.

The best remains the Nvidia Shield TV Box running Android TV OS.

I was concerned about firmware updates, support groups/forums, etc.. Good to know the full experience can be gotten either way.. Checked out their support website and firmware updates and instructions are in English too..
