Attention to those who still using legacy Astro box
You'll need to go MENU>Installation setup>Manual Configuration>Default PIN 0000
And then press down button on remote 2x to go to "Base frequency", and then change from 10.982 GHz to 11.682 GHz, and then Save changes.
And then go back to MENU>Satellite Signal>Press OK to Download
From here, it'll download a list of services (channel list), then you'll be able to access to the channels again.

If you or you know anyone that uses Astro legacy box (and still reluctant to upgrade to the newer box one), you'd realise that it has lost access to some or all channels. In that case, you'll need to change the Base Frequency settings first, then only you'd get access to the SD channels again.

I know maybe you have your own reasons of not upgrading it, but still, please upgrade to the newer box whenever possible la. I believe their free upgrade no contract option is still available though 🤔

Are you certain that you are still using the old legacy Astro box? The software with the blue colour background one?

Hmmm... Is this their new way to persuade you to subscribe to their NJOI HD pack (RM15/month), or just upgrade to Astro subscription altogether?

After all, because NJOI users prior 28 Apr 2021 are enjoying zero monthly fees to access to the 20+ channels, and when technical issues like this arises, you will be at a disadvantaged position, compared to those Astro monthly paying customers.

Or maybe, try file a MCMC complaint, and see what they say.

Since my NJOI comes with an Astro outdoor unit which I cannot use in my condo, what can I do with it?

Find those Astro installers out there, and sell the whole set to them. Some installer willing to buy it from you one...
You can also easily find them on Facebook search...

Otherwise, you can be a good customer by walk in to Astro service centre and return it to them.

Yes you are correct. Whoever sign up/activate NJOI accounts from 28 April 2021 onwards, will get lesser number of channels, and have to subscribe to NJOI HD pack (RM15/30 days) to enjoy Celestial Classic Movies (321) as well as other channels.
Existing old NJOI customers (before 28 April 2021 ones) can still enjoy Celestial Classic Movies channel for free as usual.

So if you already have NJOI before 28 April 2021, please take good care of your Astro box. Cuz once the box went rosak for whatever reason, means The End for you already.
There shall be no after sales support for you, unless you buy a brand new NJOI box, which you still have to pay for NJOI HD pack (RM15/30 days) to watch CCM channel.
Or else, you will only have access to the free boring 18 channels shown on the picture above.

Been months abandoning my njoi. Box went kaput and not interested in renewing. But yesterday hands got itchy and pried open the decoder. Long story short, I managed to repair it. So since months got disconnected with them, I was greeted with Unavailable service message. To my surprise, sms activation no longer worked now. Had to live chat them on WhatsApp. Was asked to provide card number and must be owner of the account. Astro now make life even harder for unpaid customers....kudoss!!

Actually you can do it online just press refresh signal not need to call. I do this every 3-4 month

Problematic startup...had to toggle power switch few times to power up. Few weeks or so later box just died. Repaired by replacing all bad capacitors onboard and voltage controller ic.

Owhhh, sorry for not mentioning....service was restored after chat session. It was that usual scna message that appears when decoder is in dormant state for not sure how long....weeks or months I guess.

My box have the same issue. Cannot power up.
which capacitor and IC did you replace? How much did you spend for the repair (price of parts)?

What model is yours? Mine is DS830NA. Recommend to replace all the ecaps you can see. I tested all 19 capacitors and almost all turned to be bad and dying... especially the 220uF ones.

In my case, the pwm ic sc2608b (located near front two LEDs) was blistering hot to the touch. So you have to check yours.... might be different problems.
The repair costs me roughly RM30....RM18 pwm ic (AliExpress) and RM10 for 19++ pcs capacitors.
