Sony Ericsson announces the new K610

Sony Ericsson today announces the K610, a slim, lightweight and affordable UMTS imaging phone that opens up the world of 3G for a much wider population.

Just 17mm thick and weighing 92 grams, the K610 is the size and weight of a typical 2G stick phone and will be one of the smallest and lightest 3G phones to come on the market. It packs into its slender frame a suite of advanced communications, business and entertainment applications plus a 2 Megapixel camera, Memory Stick removable storage and Bluetooth connectivity.

The K610 is a classic Sony Ericsson design reminiscent of the iconic and much loved T610 with a balance of form and function that makes it pretty irresistible," said Jan Wäreby, Corporate Executive Vice President, Head of Sales and Marketing

The K610's pure lines combine with a solid, quality feel to make it a pleasure to hold and use. It is also incredibly practical and easy to use, with bright illumination plus large keypad and 262K colour display.

UMTS connectivity and a 2 Megapixel camera makes the K610 an ideal tool to shoot images and share them instantly - whether for business or pleasure. Creating a photoblog is easily done by just adding text to images and posting them to the Internet, or images can be quickly sent by email or MMS.

High speed email, web access and a range of business-friendly applications make the K610 the ideal partner for the productive mobile office. Standard push e-mail support (P-IMAP) sends messages direct to the phone without having to download them, and a flight mode allows users to work offline.

The phone's practical use as a business tool is further strengthened by a comprehensive connectivity suite that keeps the user always in touch. UMTS is supplemented by Bluetooth, Infrared, USB 2.0 mass storage and Memory Stick Micro(tm) (M2(tm)) support,. USB 2.0 can be used to synchronise with Microsoft Outlook to ensure calendar and contacts are always up-to-date the handset.

Browsing the Internet on the K610 is a graphic-rich experience that is very similar to using a PC, thanks to the NetFront(tm) browser. HTML pages are presented in full with photos, video, words and graphics adapted to fit the 1.9" colour display, making it easy to scroll, browse and follow links between sites. New support for RSS Feeds allows users to subscribe to news services to receive updates direct to the phone.

The K610's integrated music player makes listening to music on the move simple. Music files can be stored on Memory Stick Micro(tm) (M2(tm)), which can be expanded to 1GB, It is easy to create and manage playlists and supplied software handles transfer of music files between the user's PC and the phone. The player delivers a top notch listening experience, helped along by the phone's high quality stereo headphones and built-in equaliser.

The Sony Ericsson K610 is a Dual Mode UMTS handset commercially available in Evening Red and Urban Silver colours and starts shipping during Q2 2006.

K610 design is better (the most important factor)...W810i not my cup of tea. M2 is cool.

to me, w810i's design is better... got the umppphh walkman brand summore... plus, w810i has powerful lighting diodes and AF but my choice still goes for w900i thumbup.gif

* dont u think the area around the camera part looks too simple? unlike w810i which got a classy lacquered plastic ring and w800i which hv a metallic digi-cam look camera ring. it jus looks like t610 backside --- boring!

I think we can't actually compare this k610 to w810 since both are actually targeting different category of users. The walkman series offering better multimedia enjoyment where this k610i offer better connectivity options.

If it is price like what k608 used to be, it won't be expensive then. Another direct competitor product will be the Benq Siemens S81, which is a even slimmer 3g phone (around 14mm thick) but will a lower 1.3mp camera.

uh, guys, i believe there is flash for this phone...

one of the 3 holes is flash, i think~ note that there are three horizontal holes at the bottom of the 3rd hole... not sure, though~ maybe part of the design~

why don't they upgrade the 2 megapixel camera to 3.2, aihz~ but thumbs up for this one~

not really.... it depand... some phone without bluetooth like J200 can not use DBA-10(external bluetooth dongle for Ericsson and Sony Ericsson phone) even they have the same port.

and Z520i can not use MXE-60(external flash) even port can fit in.

WOW, OMG OMG OMG i sooooo want this phone. My K750i looks like not that attractive compared to this phone. W810i well it's ugly.

But what i gathered is, no autofocus, no flash? WTH

Looks like have to wait for the K750i successor or K610 successor before i change hp.

this will be almost the perfect phone for me...i dont need a w800i coz i got nano alr...but it sucks that this phone dun have FM...AF and flash...
i think this phone should be price around 1500-1700 only...

If compare to k750 which has an even better camera, 1.4 is expensive a bit lor...

The ORI is still not available. I got mine AP for RM980 from Sungei Wang.

The phone doesn't look as nice as the review pictures, the body seems very plasticky and it just doesn't look elegant. The camera sucks compared to K750i.

The phone really looked nice in review pictures, but after second thoughts it doesn't look that special anyway. The camera quality is expected since it doesn't have AF and flash light.

I guess I won't get this phone then since it sounds more like a downgrade from my K750. My options now down to 3: N80, N73, W850 (following priority) biggrin.gif

If you don't need 3G, there's no point paying more for K610, when you can have better camera in K750 (unless you really like K610 design lar, that's another matter)

K750 is so very common nowadays but i don't really give a damn. As long as it's good who cares biggrin.gif

Just discovered one thing not sure if you guys noticed.

This phone has a CCD lens instead of CMOS. Any particular reason for it? (correct me if i'm wrong, I saw it from Mobile88)

One thing I know is the camera quality's damn poor, ridiculously poor, expecially taken at night under dim lights. Mine's already sitting in my closet's HALL OF SHAME category after only 2 weeks from the date of purchase.

ya.the camera quality very poor. taken inside building with a lot of pendaflour lightings reveal alot of noise.and i mean ALOT. and everything looks quite blur although it is 2mp. the quality is jz like 0.3mp phone.

but the design of the phone is quite cool. better looking and lighter than my k750. but the D-pad is quite hard to press as it is very small.

this phone does not use joystick, but it uses D-pad. Bad for gaming, but for navigating is quite OK. I still preffer joystick like in K750i/W800i.. but i heard that the joystik tend to jam when too much dust get into it. U have to clean it up when it's jammed. I actually like the blue-back-lite from the D-Pad.. it feels cool. And the screen is as big as the W810i screen, 0.1inch bigger than K750i or W800i. But it's not that much different coz they use the same resolution, 176*220. Overall, i like this phone very much, it meets my requirement.. make sure u buy the ori 1, i but AP set, can't update firmware OTA. Haven't try to update firmware from SE Support tho.. I would recommend this phone to those who wants cheap 3G phone biggrin.gif

Hi all, the firmware for my K610i is R1CB001, is this the latest firmware? By the way, I noticed that I could not perform multiple character search for contacts (even though I can type multiple characters, but it juz only about to search by first character). However I have no problem using the multiple character search inside file manager. Is this a bug?

Anyway, found another bug on the phone, when a message is being "use"d(Eg. More -> Use -> Call), I cant even delete it. Need to restart the phone then only can delete.

hi,
I just bought this phone recently and I realised that its kind of laggy, much more compared to K750i. Is it suppose to be like that?

and my phone also have arabic characters on the keypad. What version is this phone anyway?

Apart from the laggyness, so far this phone seems great with nice 3G capability.

Hmmmm I feel its snappier compared to W900i tongue.gif But it has some bugs which I hope can be solved by upgrading my firmware to R1CF001 but so far was unable to do so. I'm currently with R1CB001.

I believe yours should be AP set right? Maybe your set was imported from arabic country? tongue.gif

Go to Menu -> Settings -> Update Service -> Software Version

Altenatively, you can key in the following sequence at the standby screen (joystick right, star button, joystick left twice, star button, joystick left).

Mine also R1CB001. But I heard babyk mentioned that the latest firmware for K610i is R1CF001. I tried SEUS to update but it says I already have the latest firmware sweat.gif

You can read back the previous page as I mentioned some bugs I found on k610i.

I prefer the D-pad of this phone over K618 ones, looks more cooler IMO

But for the back camera/speaker design I feel otherwise, K618 one very similar to W810 camera/speaker, which is cool. But K610's back design looks like the good-old T series. laugh.gif

i just got this phone but i can't get my gprs to work. I went to Maxis website and has requested for the setting to be send to my phone. After I have installed the setting, I still cannot access any webpages from my phone. Anybody can help?

Try setting it manually. The setting should be available at maxis website (if you can't find your phone then look for the one similar).

thanks all. The problem was solved after I upgraded my simcard to 3G simcard. Not sure what's the problem was but it is working fine now.

dun have white colour, now only got silver and red. latter will have black colour that support i-mode. RM 865 is quite OK edi ^^ considering last time i bought mine (bout 1 month a go) is RM 950. Good luck..

Dear SE K610i users, do u guys know how to flash the firmware to support chinese language.

Besides paying by download from Wotan server online to get the latest R1EJ001 n pay 7euros, any other methods to upgrade the firmware?

It is because, i went to ask n the shop's people said need to put the phone there for 1 whole day to flash it, cost about RM45!

Hey guys, I just got the K610i a few days ago. It's AP set from 3 (some HK company) and everytime I make a call or send a message, a screen pops up and says "Connection failure. Check settings. If problem persists, please contact your mobile operator"

Is this caused by the firmware?

i played this fon before
the red one.. my cousin punya
honestly i like the speaker
loud and clear
and when i turn it to max
its like resonance
the fon itself like vibrating laugh.gif (not like vibe sync in e398 but the feeling kinda good)
and what i like most is the J7.1 ability, that can run more than 1 java prog simultaneously
i try open 6 games, but still didnt lag

I just updated my K610i through SEUS. The latest software for APAC is R1ED001.

The R1EJ001 you mentioned may be for another region, or it could be a beta release.

Anyway, this latest software R1ED001 has improved the speed of the GUI. Not so laggy like before. So far, this is the only difference I can feel. Camera pic quality still damn bloody lousy...

To answer your question, I assume your phone is still under warranty. If so, take it back to where you bought the phone. Ask the people who sold the phone to you to re-flash your phone's software to APAC version. They'll do it for you for free if your phone's still under warranty. smile.gif

Just info , K610 is No. 4 in the sale ranking of phone in Europe. No. 1 of course K800i 2. K750i 3. Nokia 6233 !!! . I thought of buying this Nokia phone but end up with K610i.

I just got myself a thorus K610i with the price RM1099 with a M2 64mb card, then buy another M2 512mb card for RM160, so total is RM1269.

So is mine a catch, or I just got conned?

Definitely felt like I got conned now.

good thing is that luckily the card I bought was genuine after checking its pin on sonystyle website.

so far M2 have faster read/write speed than MS Duo Pro ler... and M2 built with new technology which is hard to imitate, faster speed and highest capacity(rumous said it can go up to 32GB)

Ok, here is a question regarding the phone, does the LED next to the power button light up constantly (in red) when you are charging and green when it is done? Coz it is just weird for it to light up the whole time.

mine one is flashing green. it won't light up the whole time... if yours light up green the whole time, its spoilt tongue.gif

last time i own nokia 7110, ngage Qd all huge phone...coz i'm sucker for feature

you sure it blink in green? I was referring to the time when you are charging your phone. Coz mine the LED stay red all the time when the phone is charging and green when it is fully charged until I disconnect the power.

This phone is ok, not really anything special, but I like the design, I own a z800, n70, and k700.

coz I had enough with SE joystick phone. sooner or later the joystick will just stop working, not too sure with k800, but that's the case for my k700 atleast.

ok, just now I plug in my USB cable and it start to charge my phone. the red light stay red all the time. I didn't wait until it fully charge. So I assume that it'll stay green all the time when finish charging too.

But if unplug, the green will be blinking....so I think your phone is fine.

Its cool that SE supply USB cable that can even charge your phone. You can decide to turn on charging or disable charging by going to secret menu using this command:

I've confirmed that the green or red will stay lighted when charging. And when u turn off charger, the green become red again.

Yeah, I think k610i photo quality is bad during night time which is very noisy and bad color. But at daylight, its ok. Not bad at all. Cannot compare k800i and may lose a bit to k750i since no LED tongue.gif

by the way, I'm very happy with k610i. very stable phone. easy to connect using Bluetooth. Last time I use Ngage. Connection to bluetooth is horrendous and some more no cable to use. OMG sad.gif

Now, i'm a very happy user of k610i. I've become SE fanboy...converted from Nokia fanboy tongue.gif

a) k610 easier to hold than k618 (size is the same but k610 have some curve)
b) k618 have three holes at the back (dunno whether can install more speaker or not tongue.gif, but originally have 1 speaker)
c) k618 is music phone (i think it use joystick and have music button. not sure though tongue.gif)

But technically, all feature is the same.....coz both also same camera, no radio, no LED, etc. Just the look a bit different. Someone said k618 is for generation X and k610 more towards business tongue.gif

I discover some weird thing about the phone, if you had the key tone switched on, you will hear a "pik" sound at the end of the tone everytime you click on a button.

It will be more obvious if you listen it closely next to your ear.

Just the design is different and K618i supports the stereo bluetooth headset, it is bluetooth 2.0 compliants. Another feature I've forgotten about it but you need not worry lah, basically both models are the same, just one or two features different. You're lucky to get 256 mb for the memory card as the standard one doesn't come with this size and only K618i comes with a 256 mb memory card.

k610i also support stereo bluetooth and Bluetooth 2.0 compliant. So there's no different at all technically. Just look different.

Both k610 and K618 is using bluetooth 2.0, both support A2DP( bluetooth stereo).
K610 and k618 is the same, just that the casing is different.

I prefer k610 more, as it looks more professional.

You sure tilting it up and down is the way to unplug? I thought for the new "fast port" we are suppose to pull it out straight? Even in the manual, it say we should pull it out directly. I have attached the guide from the manual below.

Yes, I think I hear it too. I don't think it is an issue at all and unless u put ur ear near the speaker, else, u won't really notice it. And furthermore, I dun put key pad sound. tongue.gif

hi all...i'm a new SEk610i user...overall i think this phone is fine...nice compact, simplistic design, light weight, large screen, 3G enabled, Bluetooth, M2 card, nice speaker (could be mistaken as a laptop speaker if hear from far) rclxm9.gif

cons - M2 very hard 2 remove...have 2 remove battery casing...which is pointless...no FM radio...poor imaging...here r some pics that i took with its cam...really like vga...

i also dun like d fact that it doesn't have a built-in radio....how come they wanna forgo such cheap n simple function??

and I'm just wondering if the M2 card is hot-swappable (can be removed without turning of the device) coz i tried putting it in while the HP is on...its still ok and it can read d card normally...i dunno if its mean 2 be like dat...or im just wrecking my own HP... tongue.gif

so i end it on a higher note....here r d pics of my k610i. (WHITE!!)...i like the color...d grey one looks like the k800i....d red one is ok 2....a bit "girl-lish"

to remove the M2.....1st hav 2 remove the back cover....then onli can access the slot....wudnt it be better if the slot is not covered by the back casing???....mayb u like 2 remove ur back casing la...but it sucks 4 me...

the right way is tilting down..don't tilt up or pull directly...it will spoil easily....i'm also a SE K610i user.i bought it a month ago.thought of changing my phone again. smile.gif

ya..its true enough that k610i needs autofocus function,flash also is necessary esp. taking nite pics,radio and btw,i've tried b4 taking off the m2 card without turning off my hp..it functions well...but didn't read the card.

ok ive tried outdoors...quite gud la...but sometimes d borders of objects tends 2 be outta focus...but we cant compare dis cam at a digicam's standard rite....dat wud b unfair 2 dis cam.....anyway im very satisfied with its outdoor shots.....hehehe....oh yea...mayb i said wrongly...its not hard 2 remove the M2...juz troublesome...y make it hot swappable when u can onli remove it after removing the back casing??

mayb wanna prevent dust built-up in the memory card slot???

thanks for the suggestion.i feel k800i is ok but the back of the phone,the camera,is quite disturbing,very hard to put in the pocket and heavy too...however,can you give me reviews on these 3 phones?w710i,k618i and k800i?i still prefer w710i though.but i js wanna know what are my better options to decide.

If I were you, I rather get SE K800i Casino Royale AP Set, it's only RM1275. It's a much better hp than N73.

thanks.but i don't like k800i's interface especially the camera part.it's not slim like k610i,you know.do you have any idea where to download free themes?i want to get hold of disney(provided by maxis) but can't seem to find the link as instructed by hotlink.any idea?

I think N73 and K800i is the best currently. But both is not perfect. N73 has no a2dp. K800i lens cap add to bulkiness. Both also actually bulky.

You need to wait a few years and you'll get a small phone with good camera like k800/n73. Until then, u have to choose size or quality. Me, I've choose size. I've enough of big camera....

Yup. There's a white edition K610i. That I can confirm. But this is not a special edition version. Special edition comes in Red colour only.

first of all,i think you should get your gf,N73 instead or other phones that have better camera with autofocus.Currently,I'm using this phone.It does not have autofocus,flash,and worst of all,no headset.I'm not discouraging you from buying it if you insist to buy it.The choice is really up to you.I'm jus giving my side of opinion.

Well, the alarm's volume is fixed but you can always choose a loud ringtone for it, that should wake you up. tongue.gif

oh yea...alarm ringtone is ascending one....i usually put 2 alarm...10 mins interval...so when im semi awake after the 1st alarm...i sorta noticed it....tongue.gif

Hi Guys, i just bought K610i and tried using http://gmail.com/app , the J2ME app for Gmail Mobile.

Downloading is no issue and installing is no issue.I can even connect for the first time.The email is fast and we can view attachments as well.

The only problem is that subsequently when i try to use the app again, i am unable to connect .

Have anyone faced the same problem?

1. I can't search for contact nos by using more than 1 letter. It only recognise the 1st letter. Eg. To search for Jimmy; When I key in J + I + M + ... : my contact stays at the first contact no with the letter J, eg. Jamal. Then I have to scroll down to find Jimmy. Is this normal? My brother's SE Z520i can search by using all letters. How do I 'activate' this search method?

2. I can't set different ringtones to different caller groups. Can only use the caller group to send multiple sms. How to enable this function?

3. What is the latest firmware available for this phone?

That's all for now. Might have more questions in the near future.

If I am not mistaken, when your phone's firmware have chinese supports then you can't search a contact using multiple letters. If you want to search a contact using multiple letters then you will have to flash it with a firmware that doesnt support chinese.

Maybe you look at updating your firmware?

I have Chinese SW Enabled ( i can write and read chinese using K610) but i dont face the same problem you do...

1. On the contact search matter. Got it solved. Deleted all my contacts in the phone. verified all the contact full names format in outlook. made sure all contact are in first name field. then synch again with k610i. the search by all character works now.

seems that my previous contacts were saved in different format, some in first names, some in last names, some mixed. confused the phone i think.

Did you move the ringtone to a a different folder or maybe because your on a different profile ( EG NORMAL VS OUTDOORS).

The phone prompted me to check for a valid connection.I tried to connect via the web version m.gmail.com and it was ok but when i tried to active gmail directly from the application..it did not work...

Whenever someone calls me or I call out, I cannot hear from them but they can hear me fine.

Only if I use handsfree or the speakerphone then I can hear. Anyone have this problem before?

I went back to dealer but they say I can only get the phone back after x'mas! If I can solve myself better, who knows how the phone will look like when get it back (scratch etc). Appreciate if any one have any solution for this. Firmware R1ED001.

Ok, than you'll just need to try refresh or run/exit multiple times. I have no idea whats the problem but it will works after a few tries. I've experience this problem numerous time.

I have lately encourtered that K610i have similar camera problem with K750i. (One of my customer told me)

This means when you try to shoot the whole black background, you can see the blue lines.

Any of you have these problems?

I suppose this happens when or after you are using bluetooth device? It seldom happens but if it does, just turn off the bluetooth and then after a while, it will be back to normal. If still persist, just restart phone...

regardless of being an AP or ori unit, with the provided software & data cable in the box, you should be able to update your firmware online FOC. try it - simple task. just follow the instructions of the software.

Just upgraded to R1GB001. mine is ori. but the software never asked for midland/thorus/etc. code. so i assume - it doesn't matter if its AP or ori.

however where can we read what is inlcuded in the new firmware update? what can it do or what bug have it fixed?

The phone shuts down because of the battery is kindda loose from the case... The battery contact does not properly touch each other... A simple solution is stuffing some paper between the bottom part of the battery with the case to make sure the batt is pushed in securely if u get what i mean,...! I had this prob last time with my k750i which is basiclly identical with W800i... Everytime put in pocket bring out switch off d... rclxub.gif

well, is yours original sets ?if yes you can talk crap out of it with SE. They would probably get it fixed for you which i wouldnt know how they would do it. If its a AP, i think they will juz ignore you...

wow, i upgraded the firmware
you can do it yourself, just go to SE website (select your own region, Malaysia) --> Support, select K610i, then download the Update service (arnd 23mb)

install it in your PC and use the program with your phone connected to the USB cable supplied....step by step guidance in the program....

the GB firmware allows you to type in contact's name when you search, good update!!!

but too bad, no update for the 1000 contacts limit....should not put a limit, since there's memory slot

3G reception probably is problem, the other issue is the Video Call Camera.. try VC under brighter place u will see the different.

if you dont buy CID51, that means you are getting old stock, possibly second hand/refurbished unit etc with CID49.

SEUS is just to update the firmware, but doesnt reformat the phone. if you want to reformat, why not just do a master reset. and what for that you need to reformat or clean flash your firmware so often?

but true with cid51, meant harder for third party software to customise/mod the phone.. but that if only if u wanted to mod/customise ur phone.

Guys, do you realize that when we use the k610 to do video call, the phone will heat up really fast. Even if you stop camera its still heats up. Any way to go around this?

将jar档案置入手机后，只有"发送""进阶"

没有安装选项，关于这个问题，在各大论坛搜索，很多人都有这个状况

可以肯定是，档案没有放错，刷机有没有办法解决？

my SE k610im cant install any java software. i put the jar file into other, but only have the send option to choose, didn't have install option to choose.

you may want to see the average price for the phone from garagesales, lists can be found in the pinned thread here.

nothing much to look at except the service menu and check for sign of recond set. else do the service test to check everything is working too.

what's the difference between Phone Mode and File Transfer Mode?

File Transfer Mode allows you to transfer files and your phone will be in charging mode.

Phone Mode allows you to access the network and use it to surf 3G Broadband a.k.a. modem phone and it needs to be on to allow the network to flow and connect.

i have a few questions to ask...

1. the battery life is very short...only ard 2hrs+ talk time. is it normal?

2. the hp gets very hot after ard 10mins of talking until my face also become hot. again, is it normal?

u need to change battery already. just buy ori battery to feel safer..ur phone so hot, nuy ori can avoid explode right?

apart of wat mentioned above,

phone mode: need SE files manager to access phone, enable phone remain active / switch on during access / files transfer.

file transfer mode: phone dedicated as removable drives, switched off, faster transfer, accessible as removable drives.

reliable to me. anyway you can switch it off via the service menu (>*<<*<*). but you will never get 100% full charge via USB.

hey was just wondering if the k610i supported m2 cards up to 2GB? cos i read from a website that it only supports up to 1GB...is this true? Are 2GB m2 cards out of the question for k610i? I'm looking to buy a 2GB m2 card so if u can post a reply that would be great. thanks.

if that guy 2GB works fine in his K610i, then there shouldn't be any problem

only thing i think he will complain is, a tad of lag after inserting 2GB card

I think most ppl who type Chinese should know about this... mad.gif
And it's ringtone is just like the tone from hell too...
The bass is loud until you just like hearing the awful bass only when your phone ring.
This applied to all mp3.If you want nice ringtone, then choose polyphonic but what's the purpose using polyphonic ringtone in a mp3 phone?

And if you connect your phone with the usb cable oftenly, just beware.

i haf a 512MB m2 card and it doesnt lag for me - and i store heaps of videos on it as well. I am very pleased with this phone. I am a proud owner of one frankly it does not lag or hang in any way for me. USB connection has been great for me. I'm not sure about the chinese pinyin as i do not use it so i wont comment. The bass is loud so essentially that is a good thing if u want to amplify the sound. The sound quality is very good. I'm not sure about u but with me, my ringtones are encoded in 192kbps and they sound great. i guess it's just an unlucky circumstance for u that u got a crappy one. It really is a good phone in terms of price and quality.

Yes, it's compatible but it's best that you upgrade your latest firmware to get the best performance as it may lag though. (lots of stuff in the memory card)

hey mike..thanks for the explaination..however i'm facing problem for connecting my handset to Maxis 3G.

Btw, I've installed all the 3G configurations requested from http://maxisweb.wdsglobal.com.

But when I tried to browse a webpage...my handset returned this error "Connection failure. Check Settings......xxx".

I've also tried to send a mms to my own number.. but the mms was bounced to OutBox with "QUEUED" status.


Appreciate if anyone could help..thanks in advance


** ps : My place is under 3G coverage area.. but i never see the 3G icon appearing on my phone

all my fren who use this phone using 1GB M2 didnt suffered any lag
summore this phone is much faster than my w800

Okay guys, just wanna check. What's the latest firmware for K610i? I managed to update my K800i via SEUS but no luck with K610i but the difference is my K800i is an ori set whereas my K610i is an AP set.

if u're lucky u'll get APAC version.mine is europe version so i cant comment on it.

as for the casing, i think u can replace it, but with ori ones, cos i've never see a grade A, or AA or AAA casing for k610i..

i'd say that this phone, judging from its price i bought it last month at RM620 from kennywongyf, is a sleeper hit from Sonyericsson.

iianm theres no other brand that offers 3G capabilities at this price, except that not-so-slim motorola v3x sweat.gif

this phone uses cheap plastic as its casing...quite fast the battery cover become loosen, when this happened you'll hear annoying squeaky sound when sms sweat.gif ...I used this hp before gave it to my gf

I just bought this phone 1 week ago as my 2nd phone. It didn't came with any memory card, and hand free.. This phone is great IF it have autofocus with flash. The secondary camera is good.. But I still prefer my k750i camera quality.

can i know how to connect my k610i to my pc via bluetooth so that i can transfer song and also pics? i had tried a lot times but its failed... i have no idea how to make it... Thanks

Which software are u using for the bluetooth application? Is it the windows 1? Last time, i tried using the windows bluetooth software, I cant get the files transferred. I used external program called BluSoleil which come together with the USB dongle I bought, and it works fine.

i brought it last week RM 570 at Alor Star

yesterday buy 2GB M2 at Lowyat at RM 119

maybe i'll get the earphone..what model will you suggest me?

myb software problem,if u hv a warranty.do re-update at se service center.

its the best , i can can say its NOKIA N70 with a little difference (flash, FM Radio, Zoom at Pic mode)
