from Lenovo acquired Motorolo Mobility from Google news, I can see that Google early idea which is product for Americans made in USA are failed. if you guys remember Nexus Q, which is the product made in USA, and later Moto X also made in USA; the labor cost made in USA is triple than China labor charge, and not gonna be nice to sustains for long run.

LG already awarded for 2 gen of nexus, time to switch other vendor. previously most of ppl guess Sony, but though this news, Lenovo gonna be once of candidate too now and might be last nexus brand's vendor, according:

Guys, i have a problem here, my phone suddenly lost all internal storage/ data after i update my rom (carbon rom unofficial), now everything are gone, even the OS, how can i flash back the Rom into my phone? (i still have TWRP as my recovery mode)

Flash carbon and OS gone?
Maybe a bad download, check your md5 when download complete to ensure you dl completely.
Flash back to stock first? Then if everything proper, try flash carbon again.

Edit: regarding Lenovo, I'm actually interested in seeing what Lenovo can offer to the next nexus (or GPE) line.

you meant back to stock rom? fastboot flash it
else, you can just flash any other stable custom rom on TWRP.

Lenovo not only have mtk chipset device, also having Qualcomm and Intel SoC devices too. just target in different range of pricing categories.

Dayyummmm my nex5 only can used for 7 hour for one single charge. Is it normal? On data all the time. Off gps. Auto brightness.

If I disable play store will it be able to resume download once the screen dims?

Put off auto brightness and see if things improve, it should actually. Why are you only on data.. no wifi? that could be the biggest issue as well.
What is your screen time?

to anyone who love nexus but not planning to get or skip nexus 5, then must get 2014 nexus as last ever model which is will be kill in 2015, if the rumor are true.

everyone ask Google why? because of Samsung's concern. might be once of the condition request from Samsung, over Google and Samsung cross patents agreement in next 10 years.
