That's the first thing i did when i got the phone. Just stick it on the box if you're worried about losing it.

I think you will be moving from SOT 2hours(Nexus 4) to SOT 3hours(Nexus 5) without any customization. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Nexus 4 SOT easily 4 hours for me with 3g on 24/7 n 80% of time on internet services. 2 hours is terrible
There is a N4 user who posted 6 hours SOT but all on wifi

i'm coming from N4 as well. mainly due to urge for LTE and N4 still has good market value. so just sell the N4, top up few hundred and got the N5.

probably will do the same for N6, if it ever comes out.

i did change to matr1x kernel and i THINK there is an improvement to the battery life. Stock kernel really just awful..but still..got bored of the N4.

hehe maybe will change later to N5 or G2.. but am not confident with LG Android OS.. afraid it will not be as smooth

Stock rom + custom kernel

(kernels are great for battery life while roms are great for customization; ofc there are roms that optimized stuff that helps on battery life..

If as a back up phone, Moto G will be a better choice ... IMHO

Since you're newbie, I suggest you read and follow instructions step-by-step on how to unlock (take note: unlock will wipe clean your phone; suggest backup your important files) and root in xda forum biggrin.gif

Remember to check md5sum after you download the .zip file to verify that you did indeed complete download.
