At first from the press release images, I saw the edge-to-edge display. Full glass or plastic which looks high end.

But then, it was only the touch model that has it. Base model still has the plastic bezels which looks cheap and frankly ugly for a flagship model.

Some reputable reseller/shop will offer 1 to 1 exchange with them/shop if obvious manufacturing defects (ie hardware failure, DOA, etc) within short period (ie 7 days) from date of purchase depending on them provided u have not register ur warranty. u can register online to 2 yrs warranty after 1 to 1 exchange period.

well, notice that the battery capacity is the same. thats mean battery life going to be shorter than y50 since the screen is 2-inch bigger.

It's show me only 1 year warranty. It's suppose to be 2 years international warranty, right?

i have the same queries too. registered online accordingly but the record showing end warranty date of a duration of one year only
since some senior in the forum confirmed that the warranty is two years, just curious whether we done the registration wrongly or any misunderstanding here.

if don't mind waiting for a little longer, y40 is coming out.
spec almost as good as y50. but the screen... don't know yet.
if is not your cup of tea, can get your y410 then.
by the time the price of y410 should be down a little or maybe packed with some free options.

Ok. So Y40 and Y50 are the new laptops that will replace Y410p and Y510p? Will the price be around the same? When will it be released? What about Y430? Is this another one?

I think my Y50 turn off intel boost automatically when it reach at certain temp.
I can only play Crysis 3 at 720p medium settings to make game runs smoothly.
Is this normal for GTX860?

Yup, the next generation Y series are Y50 and Y40 with new design and layout. Y40 should be price lower than Y50.

Y430p with the same design as Y410p is only available in China market at the moment. Y430p/GTX850m(GDDR5) with better spec is selling better than Y40 in China. I wish Lenovo will bring in Y430p to MY, then we ve affordable 14" portable gaming powerhorse.

Rumours Y40 ETA this month. u can try to flood Lenovo facebook so that they can bring Y40 soonest.

Guys, what's your average battery life on the Y50? Perhaps you can include your settings on the energy manager too?
Just for reference. Power saver mode, web surf for 1 hour and watch movie for about 2 hours. I still had 20% left thereafter. Brightness roughly at medium.

I just got a Y50 today and is very surprised it doesn't have a removable battery. This is not a big issue for me since i mostly use it as a desktop, but I do want to preserve my battery lifespan. How do I start? surely always plugged in charging is not good for the battery...

Go to energy manager, setting and then on conservation mode.

Haha ok thanks for the info! So I should wait longer for the new releases? I went to lowyat today and asked a lot of shops/dealers and they said Y40 will not be arriving Msia. I'm not sure I should buy the old gens Y410p or the new ones. Need advices.

I just checked out Y50 and found that the screen is quite a let down.
