So far, I could not find any tech reviewers doing reviews or unboxing of the Y50. There is so much mystery around this particular notebook. 4K display is not available any time now, maybe in the future and also the cooling is questionable on the computer.

Only time will tell, who knows Lenovo might hike up the price due to latest components in there?
So far, less than 10 YouTube videos of several users who got the unit first and it was looking really good. Games perform well at 'ultra' settings and the whole thing looks very sturdy and well built.
However, there is one video where the buyer pressing hard on the keyboard surface and it looks quite fragile. Like it would break.

Saw the Y50 in MidValley today to get a hands-on, I must say it looks very good. The built is sturdy and it's very compact feel. Starts at RM4k!

QUOTE(sleepwalkerz @ Jul 27 2014, 09:25 PM) can i ask how to use the "always on usb feature" of y50?? because after i shut down the laptop it seems that none of the usb port is usable... Shut down, battery is completely shut down or off. You need to put it to sleep, just close the lid for sleep mode and you still can use your USB ports to charge.

I'm interested in getting a gaming laptop. First, MSI GS60 is very good in terms of high-end specs but it's quite pricey also the non-ending heat issues. Second, Alienware just announced the 13 model which is also good in terms of high end specs but again it's quite pricey and also flashy.
Third, I have decided to go for Y50 as it's more practical. Design wise is suitable for normal to business use, and also agressive looking for a gaming machine.
I am thinking to get the lowest base model as I think it would suffice my type of usage (light gaming). However, what is the difference between 2GB and 4GB GFX card?

QUOTE(MsiaqweR @ Aug 10 2014, 05:37 PM) Too bad the screen of this Y50 is very bad for a flagship model. At first from the press release images, I saw the edge-to-edge display. Full glass or plastic which looks high end. But then, it was only the touch model that has it. Base model still has the plastic bezels which looks cheap and frankly ugly for a flagship model.
