Yes, Lenovo at CES mentioned it will be available during Q1 but source here says May 2014.

Not sure when but I'm guessing storm88 might have some tips?  rolleyes.gif

Lenovo Malaysia has no info to give at all at this moment

but base on the experience cooperate with Lenovo, high chances that Y50/40 arrives at April / May lor IMO

Should be no problem bro. Playing BF4 on my Y500 GT750M usually got 50+ FPS on FHD. But i usually want my fps to stay at 60FPS, i manage to do it with some settings that i played, already forgot since i already sold my laptop. Haha. But all im saying its more than capable to play BF4 on Y510p. nod.gif

But AC4 is not so good, i think AC4 is not really an optimized game. I tried many settings but cant really find the perfect fps so i straight away uninstall the game. tongue.gif

what is thr setting u use? if u use medium then sound possible la. but more thsn Medium... i doubt

i remember asking one of the staff in lenovo shop at lowyat. They said that once the HDD is removed, it will tear a sticker i guess? that will void the warranty.

I am no sure whether there is a sticker or not as i had not open the back cover before
*
no. there is no sticker behind of the machine, i mean after the cover is removed

1299USD = around RM4.2k~ for Y50, quite exp
*
it's not expensive at all. USD1299 is already after USD200 rebate.

by compare the spec to the rival brands which has similar spec, the price is at just okay spot. I've been expected the price at this level and share the opinion to many of the forumer who asked y50 from us but non believed. whistling.gif

Y430p i7 and GTX850M(GDDR5) will release on 15/5/14 in China together with Guild war 2.  brows.gif
http://gw2.17173.com/content/2014-04-11/20...100446263.shtml

It seems that Lenovo will position their Y series in different market segment with Y430p/GTX850m, Y530p/GTX850m and Y50/GTX860m, Y40.
Y530p & Y430p look like the sucessor of Y510p & Y410p, the more portable series are Y50 & Y40.
Wish Lenovo will bring more affordable variants of Lenovo Y series to benefit the budget gamers.  smile.gif

Marketing Strategy meh... Both shown is their own RRP, but surely the y510p selling price already drop... Try to create marketing "illusion" so people will think the new variant from lenovo less than the old one... My 50 cents la...
*
Y410/ Y510P doesn't have any price cut but they are phasing it out directly.

Comparing it to Y510P SLI

+ RRP is RM100 cheaper
+ GTX860M Maxwell GPU (similar performance to GT750M SLI or GTX770M at stock clock, good overclocking potential due to good temperature, unlocked vbios overclocking could match a GTX780M's stock clock performance according to NBR forum).
+ Haswell-refresh i7-4710HQ processor (100MHz higher than i7-4700MQ, slight performance increase.
+ Dual-fan cooling system (MUCH, MUCH, MUCH better cooling).
+ Slim (0.9" thick).
+ Better build quality and design (subjective to users' preference).
+ Built-in subwoofer (even better sound quality).
+ Red colour USB3.0 ports instead of the commonly blue colour. (fit the laptop colour theme).

- Lack of mSATA or M2 NGFF slots (only one default 2.5-inch SATA slot).
- Lack of DVD drive / Ultrabay.
- Worse screen quality than Y510P (unless Malaysia uses a different screen which is unlikely).
- The size (not thickness) is rather big for a 15.6" laptop (15.23" x 10.37").
- Two USB3.0 ports on the left side are located very close to each other (might not fit two big-sized USB).
- The primary heat sources (CPU, GPU) are located under the WASD area (but again, the cooling is much better).

From months of following on NBR forum and Y50 tieba.

Still, can't understand why they put 4GB VRAM but not put the SSHD in since only one slot...

I have been following NBR forum for a long time. The only thing holding me back now is the Screen Panel. Maybe we should wait till some one gets the UHD model and test out the screen. Rumoured to be IPS screen.
Any ideas of how much it's gonna cost in Malaysia?

12 more days can get to know the answer adi.

I can do the favor by dismantle and post it on my FB later smile.gif

Bro, can try share what you think base on Malaysia spec vs Singapore spec?

- processor

- price

Warranty not really an issue for me.
