Comparing it to Y510P SLI
+ RRP is RM100 cheaper
+ GTX860M Maxwell GPU (similar performance to GT750M SLI or GTX770M at stock clock, good overclocking potential due to good temperature, unlocked vbios overclocking could match a GTX780M's stock clock performance according to NBR forum).
+ Haswell-refresh i7-4710HQ processor (100MHz higher than i7-4700MQ, slight performance increase.
+ Dual-fan cooling system (MUCH, MUCH, MUCH better cooling).
+ Slim (0.9" thick).
+ Better build quality and design (subjective to users' preference).
+ Built-in subwoofer (even better sound quality).
+ Red colour USB3.0 ports instead of the commonly blue colour. (fit the laptop colour theme).
- Lack of mSATA or M2 NGFF slots (only one default 2.5-inch SATA slot).
- Lack of DVD drive / Ultrabay.
- Worse screen quality than Y510P (unless Malaysia uses a different screen which is unlikely).
- The size (not thickness) is rather big for a 15.6" laptop (15.23" x 10.37").
- Two USB3.0 ports on the left side are located very close to each other (might not fit two big-sized USB).
- The primary heat sources (CPU, GPU) are located under the WASD area (but again, the cooling is much better).
From months of following on NBR forum and Y50 tieba.
Still, can't understand why they put 4GB VRAM but not put the SSHD in since only one slot...
man.. dont too pickly la
(Joking, no insult. But i'm serious of my point of view. Cheers
