Yeah for those who looking for new laptops better wait 1-2months... But still not bad if you choose a laptop with 860m cuz the increment in performance is only 15-20%.

QUOTE(AceDeatH @ Jan 6 2015, 10:43 PM) Better wait first arh? ._. Can read write Blue-ray disc lo.. normal DVD player can't read or write BR disc.. It cost a few hundred bucks also.. if you didn't burn CD then can pass it.. no use.. For video, not like you want to buy original Blue Ray movie which cost 100+ right ? Actually what is the function of Blue-Ray rom? The screen size actually very attracting 17.3" IPS (Nice to gaming with bigger screen) The 4GB VRAM maybe useful for future? (For multi monitor, rendering or so on?) ._. Planned to wait and must add a SSD to the laptop 😏 I found 17.3'' a bit big for me.. just your preference lo.. V15 also is LG-IPS screen.. just smaller 4GB vram for me not much use.. cause we cant play much high demanding game on ultra or high 1080p.. Cause only those high / ultra settings require so much vram.. For multi-monitor/rendering I not sure.. I think won't affect much ba.. rendering / editing stuff gtx series can't do much pun.. Quadro series is better |

You are right. 15' display size lappy best compromise for mobility + gaming in fhd. If 17' better have 3k or 4k displays but 970m/980m still have trouble rendering it at ultra settings. Plus the laptops with 3k/4k display normally priced at Rm6k and above. I rather spend of a desktop gaming rig....I found 17.3'' a bit big for me.. just your preference lo.. QUOTE(Amal @ Jan 7 2015, 07:47 PM) GTX 965M vs GTX 860M True. But the earlier post was regarding to 860m vs 965m laptop pricing. Its about 1k+ in comparison to v15 with 860m. If the user is keen to spend 4k+ for new tech of coz its worth it. And btw its not really that significantly faster...only comparable with 870m. Gtx965m 66fps vs gtx860m 50fps. 860m is still quite snappy considering laptops with this gpu cost lest than 4k. Good for the budget and for light-medium gamers.Unigine Heaven 3.0 = 34% faster 3DMark (2013) = 37% faster 3DMark 11 = 44% faster So, it's quite a significant faster. P/s: sometimes % dont show the whole picture. Actually fps is much more accurate. This post has been edited by calvinlgj1985: Jan 7 2015, 08:15 PM |

Actually fps is much more accurate. If it is let say RM1.2k more expensive than the V15(RM3.5k), meaning it is 34% more expensive for a 34% more faster GPU. Which is still ok, IMHO. Meaning that both GTX 860M and GTX 965M have the same value. Let's use 34% comparison. 23fps vs 30fps. You will see quite a significant different. Not highly significant, but quite. |

Yep if u say future proof then definitely go for 965m. If it is let say RM1.2k more expensive than the V15(RM3.5k), meaning it is 34% more expensive for a 34% more faster GPU. Not highly significant, but quite. Was looking around and i saw desktop 960, 960ti and 965ti coming out end of this month. The 965ti is equivalent to 780 and should be priced at rm1200. Now this makes me wanna build a gaming desktop! http://www.kitguru.net/components/graphic-...rds-this-month/ |
