Having suffered with gyno for many years due to steroid use I finally decided to have my surgery at Dr Cheong's clinic just before Chinese New year, he charged me a reasonable amount around 7k. The surgery itself was a bit painful but after surgery I had no pain. You are right he is quiet and not so friendly he even got mad at me for asking something too many times😄 but he gets the job done. I had a lot of swelling because of scar tissue on one side after surgery. He told me to wait a few months which I did but still it didn't go away so I went to see him again and told him to give me a steroid injection he did as I requested and after only 2 weeks all the scar tissue went away and now I am very happy with the results.

any other doc besides dr cheong or glojas in kl/selangor? quite worried since lots of reviews said the doc is not patient-friendly as it might affect on how you want to communicate and share your problem with him

Currently I am trying Avisena Specialist at Shah Alam. The Dr quote price around 8-10k. Its quite pricey but I live in Klang so its pretty near

PPUM takes alot of time and procedure. I have waited since January just to have it postponed again on June. Dr Cheong Cheras quite far for me.

So, try Avisena if u live near Klang/Shah Alam

Just updating my situation here :

Did my surgery on 13/7 , discharge from ward on the next day.
Carrying a drain for around 10 days. MC at home for 1 month, back to office yesterday.

Happy with my results smile.gif Chest still swollen , and might take up to 3 months to get fully recover.

Cost of surgery = RM53 , Cost of ward (2 days) = RM56
Total Cost : RM109 (excluding RM5/follow up treatment)

Thank you bro, I regret not doing this sooner. Post surgery I went one time for stitch removal after about 2 weeks the second time after 2 months for general checkup and agin after 3 months for the remaining swelling. The checkups are free and the doctor will even provide you with free ointment for your wounds but I did pay for the steroid injection but he only charged me for the cost of the steroid itself and I only paid about 70 Ringgit I think. But you most probably won't need that I was just unlucky to develop scar tissue 😅.

I think the scar you are referring to is from the incision under the nipple, I had no problems with that after 2 months it was almost gone Dr cheong has a very good incision and stitching technique . The scar tissue I had was like a hard lump inside and it created some swelling.

for those whom had done the surgery, just wondering how long is safe before you can continue normal daily activities i.e; swimming or heavy lifting after?

did it affect your movement (lifting hands, moving around, intimate relationship etc) while recovering

Up to 6 months it's normal to have swelling from the surgery, but if it persists it can be scar tissue. Ask your doctor he might ask you to massage the area daily.

It really differs from person to person some people heal faster. I rested for two weeks before doing normal daily activities and two months to go back to the gym.

Hi all,

Just to share my experience. I had my gynecomastia surgery at Glojas on 13/8/20. Prior to that, i went for the free consultation with surgeon. He recommended for liposuction on the chest area as well to get a full flat chest.

I had watched a lot of gynecomastia surgery videos on youtube and i follow dr.lebowitz on IG, so I pretty much know what to expect. You should do the same if u are planning for surgery.

From the liposuction, the surgeon has sucked out about 200ml of fat from each side. Unlike all the video that i watched, the incision for the liposuction is about 3 inches below the nipple, instead of under the armpit. The gland removal is pretty standard just like the youtube videos. It was almost painless. No drain was fitted to me (i think this the glojas way as the surgeon suggested it during the consultation). Instead, the remaining tumescent fluid (for the liposuction) is let to flow out from the liposuction incision.

The first night was messy a bit. I was ‘soaked’ with fluid and blood coming out from the liposuction incision. Need to change the gauze regularly (the surgeon has informed this during the consultation). But it is better than carrying the drain, i think. Throughout, there was no pain that i cannot bear. Just a mild discomfort. The clinic provides me with antibiotics cream, pills and pain killer. I stop taking the pain killer on the 3rd day.

On the second day, i went for the 1st review with the surgeon. I was able to drive to the clinic myself. I start going to work on the 4th day. The 2nd review was a week after the surgery. The chest is almost flat now with minor swelling which will go a way in 1 to 6 month. Im a happy month, nonetheless.

However, the movement is a bit restricted. I cannot lift the arm above my head without feeling ‘stretchy’ around the chest area. Naughty time with missus also need to be improvised haha. And yes, i need to wear the compression vest for nearly 24 hours for the 1st month. Next review is 1 month after the surgery.

Feel free to ask questions 😁
