Hi all,

Just to share my experience. I had my gynecomastia surgery at Glojas on 13/8/20. Prior to that, i went for the free consultation with surgeon. He recommended for liposuction on the chest area as well to get a full flat chest.

I had watched a lot of gynecomastia surgery videos on youtube and i follow dr.lebowitz on IG, so I pretty much know what to expect. You should do the same if u are planning for surgery.

From the liposuction, the surgeon has sucked out about 200ml of fat from each side. Unlike all the video that i watched, the incision for the liposuction is about 3 inches below the nipple, instead of under the armpit. The gland removal is pretty standard just like the youtube videos. It was almost painless. No drain was fitted to me (i think this the glojas way as the surgeon suggested it during the consultation). Instead,  the remaining tumescent fluid (for the liposuction) is let to flow out from the liposuction incision.

The first night was messy a bit. I was ‘soaked’ with fluid and blood coming out from the liposuction incision. Need to change the gauze regularly (the surgeon has informed this during the consultation). But it is better than carrying the drain, i think. Throughout, there was no pain that i cannot bear. Just a mild discomfort. The clinic provides me with antibiotics cream, pills and pain killer. I stop taking the pain killer on the 3rd day.

On the second day, i went for the 1st review with the surgeon. I was able to drive to the clinic myself. I start going to work on the 4th day. The 2nd review was a week after the surgery. The chest is almost flat now with minor swelling which will go a way in 1 to 6 month. Im a happy man, nonetheless 😊.

However, the movement is a bit restricted. I cannot lift the arm above my head without feeling ‘stretchy’ around the chest area. Naughty time with missus also need to be improvised haha. And yes, i need to wear the compression vest for nearly 24 hours for the 1st month. Next review is 1 month after the surgery.

Feel free to ask questions 😁

Why do you have it? Did you use steroids or it is genetics?

Hi guys, just want to update. I just did my gynecomastia surgery at GLOJAS, Desa Sri Hartamas today. RM8.5k. The surgeon was Dr Ali. It was very good surgery session and finally I feel so much relieved when I have no longer have the stubborn fat and my tits no longer look like a teenage girls boobs.

I would suggest if you have enough savings to go to GLOJAS. They have Christmas promotion till end of December. Usually the price for gyne surgery is RM12k.

So basically the Dr taken out 200 cc of fats and breast tissues from my right chest and 300cc from left chest. I suggest you guys to go for the surgery if this is going to make you happier and relieve. I will update the result photos few months after this. I dont want to show current photos as my chest still in minor bruises.

All the best! [SIZE=7]

After living with gynaecomastia (mine wasn't that serious, if you refer to this page, mine was probably the type 1) for 10 +years (this thing came to me at roughly the age of 15), finally, I'm happy to say goodbye to it.

Had the surgery done in Adventist Hospital, Penang ("PAH") with Dr Danny. Cost is slightly below 7k, consider quite cheap if you compare to others.

Before the surgery
Remember to buy a few black (use black, don't use white because there might be blood/plasma from the wound) singlets from Uniqlo, wash it prior, and bring it along to the hospital. You may also want to buy compression garment (PAH will give you a new one), wash it, and use your own compression garment after the surgery. Suggest you to wash them first because new out of the box compression garment/singlets may cause irritation to your skin. (I suffer itchiness for 2 days. Damn kesian sia).

You will be asked to take light breakfast, and no coffee before the surgery.

During Surgery
Doctor put me to sleep before the surgery, hence I do not know what happen during the surgery. If i remember correctly, I entered the surgery room at about 10-11am, and when I woke up, it was about 4 ish. I believe I was given moderate/deep sedation instead of minimal sedation as I complaint about pain durin vaser liposuction procedure (somehow I was awake due to the pain lol). Lipo procedure is painful - you read above posts.

After Surgery
Did not really feel painful after I woke up, probably due sedation effect. You are given 2 types oral tablets (1 for pain relief and another one is an antibiotic) and 1 ointment. For my case, I took pain relief for 2 days - after that I don't need it anymore. You apply the ointment on the plaster and paste it on the wound in the areola, right below the nipple (btw, doctor performed a keyhole surgery hence the cut/wound is very minimal). Get yourself a waterproof, sterile type plaster.

Upper body movement is very limited for the first 2 night. You may take quick shower just to clean your lower body. Upper body and armpit, use alcohol wet wipes to wipe2 saja cukup. You may wash your hair in the bathroom basin.

Ecchymosis will develop right after the surgery. Will stay there for a couple of days/week. 5 to 6 days after surgery, bruise area will turn greenish/yellowish. Part of the healing process.

To avoid the development of rashes on your skin, I would suggest you to wear a singlet before putting on compression garment. I was told to wear compression garment for about a month. If you have serious gynae, means you'd probably have more excessive skin there, then you probably have to wear it for a longer period.

Overall, I think it is worth getting this surgery if you are having gynaecomastia, and especially when you're still young. A one time payment to gain back your confidence, why not?

A big thanks to the surgeon and nurses for rendering their professional services and hospitality. Very very nice people. Jaga you like anak. Lol. Too bad, there's no Adventist hospital in KL, otherwise I don't mind doing some free marketing for them lol.
