any other doc besides dr cheong or glojas in kl/selangor? quite worried since lots of reviews said the doc is not patient-friendly as it might affect on how you want to communicate and share your problem with him

Having suffered with gyno for many years due to steroid use I finally decided to have my surgery at Dr Cheong's clinic just before Chinese New year, he charged me a reasonable amount around 7k. The surgery itself was a bit painful but after surgery I had no pain. You are right he is quiet and not so friendly he even got mad at me for asking something too many timesπŸ˜„ but he gets the job done. I had a lot of swelling because of scar tissue on one side after surgery. He told me to wait a few months which I did but still it didn't go away so I went to see him again and told him to give me a steroid injection he did as I requested and after only 2 weeks all the scar tissue went away and now I am very happy with the results.

Thank you bro, I regret not doing this sooner. Post surgery I went one time for stitch removal after about 2 weeks the second time after 2 months for general checkup and agin after 3 months for the remaining swelling. The checkups are free and the doctor will even provide you with free ointment for your wounds but I did pay for the steroid injection but he only charged me for the cost of the steroid itself and I only paid about 70 Ringgit I think. But you most probably won't need that I was just unlucky to develop scar tissue πŸ˜….

is normal to have scar , although is still in healing process , i think some less visible scar will still occurs , but im applying silicone gel hoping the scar will be least visible

I think the scar you are referring to is from the incision under the nipple, I had no problems with that after 2 months it was almost gone Dr cheong has a very good incision and stitching technique . The scar tissue I had was like a hard lump inside and it created some swelling.

i see, i still have some swelling now, is it normal ?

Up to 6 months it's normal to have swelling from the surgery, but if it persists it can be scar tissue. Ask your doctor he might ask you to massage the area daily.

for those whom had done the surgery, just wondering how long is safe before you can continue normal daily activities i.e; swimming or heavy lifting after?

did it affect your movement (lifting hands, moving around, intimate relationship etc) while recovering

It really differs from person to person some people heal faster. I rested for two weeks before doing normal daily activities and two months to go back to the gym.

I have a botched gynecomastia surgery fr government hospital.

My case are not serious. But, to save cost, i opt for govt hospital since i know someone there...

Now, i got indented nipple on one side.. Sad.

Advice, better spemd some money to go private one.... Or PPUM IF u got serious case. I WAS REJECTED BY PPUM before

Sorry to hear that, did you have your surgery recently? Maybe it will get better as it heals. The reality of gynecomastia surgery is that it will never be perfect.

To those went through the surgery, were you able to drive back yourself after the surgery? I'm planning to go to dr Cheong cheras, I'm from Shah Alam. Decided not to Avicenna since Dr there is quite young, I think Dr Cheong has more experience.

It is possible, but it's best not to. Any sudden arm movements may cause internal bleeding and more complications after surgery.
