any happy s-xv drivers?  what's the fuel consumption?

city/highway/mix
*
lol.... i dun think i saw any unhappy XV drivers here yet. Just did my 1st service last Thursday and the engine seems much quieter now. Road noise is minimal too but notice now can hear quite audible wind noise at highway, maybe because now only i drive above 100km/h. My max speed only 90km/h before the 1st service. biggrin.gif

My mix mileage is about 9.6L/100km. City alone i think is about 11.5L/100km. The on-board average fuel consumption indicator is quite accurate. thumbup.gif

Anyone install the rear spoiler at Subaru SC? How much is the cost with installation? Thinking of fitting a black colour one on my white XV.

i wanted too.. but want to compare the price with AE, maybe AE cheaper  brows.gif

din see spoiler at their web site. just send another email to them asking about the arrival of XV accessories. Sent them an email late last month and was told stock will arrive end of this month but so far no news yet from them. It's already 1 year plus since the launching of XV here but the availability of accessories still pretty scarce. doh.gif

they only advertise few accessories at Muday. Can let us know the price for the mud guard? Coz the Subaru OEM is quite expensive. Thanks. smile.gif

Thanks guys for the warm welcome!

I'm scheduled for my first 1,000km service (times flies so fast!) this Friday, and booked a service spot at the Subaru SC Jalan Perintis U1/52 Glenmarie. Anyone has experiences with this SC? Maybe if time permits, I will pay AE a visit to see how I can make-up the XV with their accessories.

Today I saw two white XVs in around Subang Jaya. One is driving by an uncle (Walau! Uncle now oso Subaru fan!) and one by a young lady. More and more XVs on the road these days, I guess.

I was told by my sales advisor that the price of the XV has gone up, and later will revert back to its original price, RM145k. Hope it's not true as the current price is already very competitive against the current crops of ASXs, Tucsons, Sportages and CX5s.

My spongy brakes are bothering me. Is it normal or some adjustments at the SC are needed?
*
walao.... such a discrimination against the senior. shakehead.gif They have much more driving experience than you obviously. whistling.gif

anyway, just joking, although i am also uncle already with 2 kids. XV is really a nice car compared to my previous sedans. Very happy that i have chosen it against the ASX. Saw quite a number of ASX on the road but its design really nothing to shout about. the CX5 is quite ok at the back (still lose to XV's sexy butt though, but better than ASX) but the "big mouth" look at the front is a big turn off for me. Actually i din find XV's front so nice initially compared to the back but now the look just grow prettier day by day. biggrin.gif

and the latest WRX STI is damn so nice - love the executive looks compared to "over-fierce" ah beng version.

do share once the soundproofing is done.. Im still quite skeptical on soundproofing of the XV as i am really not sure how effective it can be! smile.gif
*
actually i dun find the sound proofing of the XV that bad. My staff was commenting my new ride is very quiet when i took them out for lunch last week. biggrin.gif

Of course the tyre noise is quite noticeable on highway but i think it is not much noisier than my previous Livina with new Michelin XM2. Or maybe my ears were not that sensitive. tongue.gif

just use a thumbdrive la bro.. after a while, u wont notice its there...
altho, i wouldnt recommend sandisk brand if u have updated to the latest firmware...
somehow after the Kenwood firmware update, my Kenwood cannot read sandisk (i tried with 2 diff sandisk, confirmed)...
before update, no prob at all...
i love th sandisk cos the physical size is very small and short.. so far, havent seen any thumbdrive as small as this

*
hi, bro, just an update. Yesterday I just bought a 64GB version of the Sandisk Cruzer Fit USB2.0 and it works perfectly with my XV Kenwood HU (updated to latest firmware).

Maybe you need to reformat thoroughly your Sandisk to FAT32 and copy all the files once again. smile.gif

I opt for the free service and parts...but dissapointed coz they use castrol magnatec semi synthetic 10w40. Market price is about rm130 - rm150 (?). I'll try call MI HQ tomorrow and see what's their explanation...but have the feeling not much is going to happen. Kuantan SC always too busy with VWs...they couldn't be bothered with 1 or 2 subaru that checks in...me think.
*
the small wording at the bottom of the service package does mention the price lists are based on "Castrol 5W40" which should be Castrol Edge Fully Syn 5W40 (correct me if I am wrong). So if we opt for free service and parts for 5 years, they should give us the exact same oil or equivalent fully syn oil, not substitute with lower grade oil.

I will need to double check my first service invoice later to see what oil they used for my 1k service. hmm.gif

Could somebody further explain on the price wise

Standard price (OTR) RM151,226.50, (Nett) RM145,800.00
Previous promo RM129,800.00
Current price RM132,800.00

Whats the tricks?
*
OTR Price includes road tax and full insurance without taking into No Claim Discount (NCD). So if you have max NCD @ 55%, use the nett amount to estimate the car price. Insurance is about RM4k. Mine is about RM2,150 with 55% NCD.

RM145,800 - standard price, without insurance and road tax.
RM129,800 - discounted price (RM16k off) for 2013 batch XV, meaning the Year of Manufactured in the registration card will be 2013 which indicate you have lost 1 year depreciation. This price valid until Feb 3 only, without insurance and road tax.
RM132,800 - after Feb 3, for the same 2013 batch of XV, the price increased by RM3,000 from RM129,800. I think they will sell at this price until the batch of 2013 is sold out. Heard my SA said the 2014 batch will only arrive around April or later.

So the catch of the discount is that you are getting a "one year older" XV. smile.gif For me, discount of RM16k + the 5 years "service+parts" free maintenance worth RM9k plus is really worth it. Net net amount is only about RM120k. thumbup.gif

They'd always say that steering lock is useless but there is only one that I believe will work and it comes with a pager. I've been using this for the last 3 years now (older model but same features) and I love it for it's pager capability. Of course it also acts as a second alarm with intruder/tow sensor but it is not cheap.

T-Rex only sell their simpler basic models at Department stores like Aeon. For the more 'canggih' models, you might have to contact them to ask. I went directly to their head office and got it from them since I'm in KL. 3 years ago it cost RM700.
*
ok, thanks for the info. I will email them to check whether they have any dealer in Johor Bahru.

You can try other similar free apps from PlayStore.

yes, can't agree more. Can blast loud loud while driving and not disturbing others. thumbup.gif Hard to crank up the volume at home unless with headphone but there is still a big difference listening to headphone and real speakers. biggrin.gif

Wow really so pack to service car, is there any other brunch at klang valley?
By the way, do what we need to check or do when we get our car? I'm looking forward and SA told me need to wait 15 working days to get it.
*
Getting 2014 stock? Congratulation!!! Have been driving the XV for 2 months and the more i drive it the more i love it. wub.gif

I have 2 checklists for reference when i collecting new car. biggrin.gif Attached below for your reference. I think there is no known issue on the XV, so no need to check specifically for anything. I did test thoroughly every switches, doors and inspect inside out the paint surface and leather seats condition, etc. The only thing that caught me by surprise is the absence of USB and audio connectors inside the centre arm-rest coz all the while i thought they are standard in XV.

haha... when I was buying my Waja previously, there is some known issues on it. So the Waja Club created a checklist for the new buyers to check when collecting the cars. The other checklist I downloaded when i was google for any specific collection checklist for XV. biggrin.gif

Doesn't matter which stock you get, the XV is da bomb!

As for me, I got mine on Valentine's Day this year. But in my "Perakuan Pendaftaran Kenderaan", it stated there the year my car was manufactured is 2014. Must be a typo mistake.

BTW, have you guys heard about this car GPS tracking system called "Katsana" (www.katsana.com)? Anyone has experience in this?
*
wow.... that's mean you just earn RM16k? thumbup.gif I installed mine with Directed GPS tracking system. But need to pay annual subscription though, about RM1/day.

Hi, I just booked xv, wonder to take 2013 better or 2014?

2013: free 5 year service & warranty
2014: none.

Sigh... still wondering....
*
I thought other than the free 5 years service & warranty, 2013 XV also come with RM10k plus discount?

If only the Crosstrek has the sunroof/moonroof, then only i will consider to take it. Just wondering whether we can retrofit the upcoming STI edition's goodies in our XV. drool.gif
