Any hardware upgrade/module upgrade possible for Bluetooth Audio to be enabled? or any custom ROM that can be flashed?
*
I wouldn't bother about any mod - too much hassle. Just change the HU completely will be faster and better solution. biggrin.gif But since it is still working ok now, I will just live with it with the AUX connection.

Got message from my SA that Russ Swift will have stunt performance in Johor Bahru Sutera Square on Sept 26-27, 2014. The time slot is 1pm, 3pm and 5pm. Saw his performance many years ago at Singapore Motor Show. thumbup.gif

that's ok bro, everyone here facing same problem but some of us can accept this noise problem and some dont.

As an XV owner i dont like the tyre noise than cabin noise. Maybe in 6 months time i can change to different tyre which is quiter. I did ask 1 tyre shop and he recommends new good year tyres. Its cheaper can michelin and cost at rm520 each.
*
what is the good year tyre model? What is the michelin model and how much it costs? The original tyre wear more quickly than i expected - maybe because XV is AWD? All my original first set tyre normally can tahan 2 years or more coz i am really a light footed person and do not break abruptly. But i check my XV front tires the other day and found the wear quite fast - I think the most can be used for another 6 months max.

Hi all,

Just want to ask if there is a way to mod the meter light so that it will be on at all times. it's kinda hard to see speedometer during the day. I don't want to have my headlights on while driving during the day. (I have problems with my eyes but not serious enough that I can't drive). Can this be done and will it void the warranty.

Thanks
*
agree, the speedometer is kinda dark sometime during the day. I am also used to the always on speedo meter light on my previous Livina. But i won't be bother much coz i always drive in full auto.

just notice from the news that Ron97 is only RM0.20/liter more expensive than Ron95 now. So full tank 50liter only cost RM10 more.

My question is whether there is a significant difference in performance and mileage for using Ron97 in XV? I have been using Ron97 more than 10 years back when the price difference is not so much. Back then my observation was better acceleration and actually more mileage per tank.

Edit:....oppss... forget the decimal point. tongue.gif

Hi all,

Am new here.  Just got my new subaru xv orange color  for less than 3 weeks. Going for my 1st service next week. Somehow my FC seem to be very high eg. 11.8L per 100Km travelling mostly ldp or federal highway to n back from work. Is that normal?

Thanks.
*
welcome to the club. Maybe your engine is still new, i think no need to worry about fuel consumption at this moment until your car has achieved 10,000km mileage or more. I notice the fuel consumption will get better when the mileage accumulates.

My XV is having average 8.8l/100km for the latest full tank as i work late recently, not caught in traffic much. biggrin.gif

Thanks for the comment.  I guess so. Will monitor next time.  Anyone of you install locktech? Wonder whether locktech suit subaru xv or not.
*
this is the first things i look out for when i first got my XV but unfortunately it is not available for XV. Install it in my previous Livina and it is much more convenient than normal steering lock.

5K service? I thought the service interval is 1K, 10K there after every 10K, no?

Only the first 5k. It is just for inspection, no parts or lubricant change.

Hello subaru owners,

I am looking to buy a new car.. And my last list is to compare between altis and subaru xv. Yes i know it's a different kind of drive.

Just to get your guys feedback on xv. With the current promo 130k with free service 5yrs or 100k km...

Is it a good buy? I flip through all the pages and common prob that i saw just rattling sound. That is not major for me.

How do you find driving an xv?
*
i can only say the Altis is grossly overpriced if compared to XV. biggrin.gif Got the XV and never look back. thumbup.gif

hmm, loan clear but number passed the one we want, also queuing for the unit. chance getting lower to get before cny...

same situation as mine. In order to collect the vehicle on time, I just write a list of "not so bad" number for them to get, at the end, got a call from SA on the Lunar New Year eve to collect the car, just after i have reunion lunch at my wife's parents house, most epic car collection date for me ever. biggrin.gif Else, I would have no car for CNY coz car already trade in to second hand car dealer.

Btw, my XV official turn 1 year old today. wish.gif

ron95 is the recommended fuel as u can see at the fuel cap. It is OK to try ron97 for more vroomm
*
I get about average 10% more mileage with Ron 97. Have been using Ron97 since 4 full tanks ago. biggrin.gif Can feel the XV more eager to charge ahead now.

Hi guys,

Another question.

I noticed someone mentioned that they could not pair their Note 3 with the XV's bluetooth sound system. Does this mean that the XV currently does not support bluetooth A2DP audio?

Any way around this?

Can we upgrade the HU from MotorImage ?
*
Can pair with Note 3 coz I am using Note 3 too but the bluetooth function only limited to phone audio - i.e. you can only make or receive call with the HU. No A2DP support. I was quite disappointed too when I found out the HU does not support A2DP. sad.gif

yes, most likely is tyre balancing. You need to request the service centre to do the balancing for you - in JB Service Centre, the tyre balancing at first service (1,000 mileage) is free. Subsequent tyre balancing problem you need to fork out your own money to rectify it.

thought maintanace free means everything ???
*
of course not everything. sweat.gif if you always kena potholes, how are they going to rectify it for you every time. tongue.gif

In JB, they dun have in house tyre service, so they will drive the car out to third party to do balancing and they foot the bill for you, only for the first time @ 1,000km mileage. I think the reason being they are supposed to deliver the new car in perfect condition, including the tyre balancing but due to they are not able to test drive every unit, they will let the buyer test out themselves and only request for the balancing during the very first service if there is a need. If you did not request then means the balancing is good fresh out of the factory and subsequent balancing problem is considered your own fault already.

What I meant was the cable, I can't get it to play my songs from spotify
*
what cable? you use an audio cable to connect your phone to the HU's AUX port? If so, you need to turn up your HU's volume to extremely loud then only you can hear the soft sound from the AUX in.

I am using the same way by plug in an long audio cable and put the other end inside the centre console. I need to use a portable headphone amp to pump up the volume so that the sound level at the HU is normal like other audio source.
