B4 this u are being confused to choose between xv and asx, am I right?
*
yup, i confirm the booking for XV even before i test drive the ASX. rolleyes.gif The poison is too hard to resist after test drive it and watching all the videos at youtube. drool.gif Ultimately i choose driving over gadgets. biggrin.gif Hopefully i made the wise choice. sweat.gif

EDIT: Btw, are there USB and auxiliary audio input jack in the centre console/arm-rest? I saw they are stated at Subaru Malaysia web site but i think it is just a piece of hard plastic without any hole in the XV at Subaru JB showroom. doh.gif

Thanks all for the confirmation. The USB and audio jack at HU itself are not so elegant to use than the connector inside the console box. I think I will buy the audio and USB extension cable and ask the accessories shop to install for me at the console box. Since the HU has these connector at the back of the unit, should be easy just to plug in the extension cable and route them to the console box.

EDIT: I am wrong, there is no connectors for USB and audio in at the back. sweat.gif

I thought white is the most trouble to take care...:/
*
Not really. My current Livina is black, very visible if dirty and have tonnes of hairline swirl mark. So this time opt for white for my XV. SA estimate i can take delivery of the car by next Tuesday - new Horse year get new "horse". laugh.gif can't wait. rclxm9.gif

only way is using Aux. The BT2.0 on the Kenwood DNX5310BT does not work with A2DP. A bit disappointed after found out that coz my wife's Peugeot 207 simple HU has the A2DP. Maybe will upgrade to higher end Kenwood, any recommendation?

Can find more XV on the road of Johor Bahru now. Sighted a white XV at Tun Aminah yesterday, very striking, eye-catching even from far. So far sighted 3 - 1 blue, 1 dark grey and 1 white.

Thanks for the info about the speaker, abundai, time to hunt for a set of 6.5" component set with tweeter and crossover in front and a pair of 6.5" for back. Thinking of adding a 10" sub but the boot area already very small. sweat.gif Need to check with my installer is there any other option.

yesterday on my way to work, to my suprise, i saw 2 XV on the road..
then i quickly cathcup to them, and managed to form a straight line of 3 xv's...black, white(mine) and black..
if another white comes in, then can form a zebra crossing...hehehe..

if ur into SQ, an 8 inch active subs under the seat is sufficient...
for deeper bass (HipHop, RNB, House music), get the 10inch and a very slim  box for the rear trunk...
Saw one from the shop that i did my soundproofing.. but 12" (not sure bout 10") rm590 just for the box
but in KL la...

surely can... i hav a square 250W active subs under the front seat...
set it to 50% power, good enuf for me...  really helps a lot in bringing up the bass for my Jazz music, and sometime Deep House.. smile.gif
*
so you get to know another 2 XV owners? biggrin.gif

thought of getting active sub to put under seats too. But together with the amp, they will take up both the space under the front seats. I like to hide my shopping stuff under the seats. blush.gif

oh..gosh... my wallet will bleed like hell after CNY - new alarm, new speakers, new steering lock, windows tint and some accessories from AE. sweat.gif Btw, any steering lock to recommend? Want to install Locktech but i think they dun have one for XV. sad.gif

btw, roughly how many km you can make with one full tank of fuel? I know different users has different types of routes, but just want to know a rough idea. coz on paper, the fuel mileage is really good, even better than my 1.8L Livina which i regards as quite good.

i also reset my TRIP Ameter evrytime i pump fuel...get a fresh data
for trip B, i reset after engine service only... to get an average of FC for 10K milage
*
Thanks for the fuel info. Looks like it is more fuel-saving than Livina. My Livina average 450km for 42L and I am not a heavy footer, not caught in heavy traffic often too.

Your trip meter trick is a good idea. I only use one of the trip meter for full tank mileage on my curremt Livina, another one seldom use.

i was told to pump as often as possible and running the car with very low fuel is actually quite bad for the engine. Dont know how true is that though.. haha..

By the way, brought my car in to the service centre this morning and was told that there is no problem with the gear box wiring which caused the car to stall when i was driving on the highway the other day. So they just updated some software stuff and cleared the fault code for me. Fingers crossed, it doesnt happen ever again. Was quite dangerous when it happened the other day.
*
yes, the dirty deposit in the fuel tank may build up over time at the very bottom of the tank. Normally i pump with around 1/4 tank left. Only when i need to check mileage only i will use until the low fuel warning appear. And dun pump petrol at a petrol station when the Tanker is unloading its petrol coz it will stir up all the dirty deposit at the bottom of the tank. There are some advices on pumping petrol at petrol station circulating in the FB some time ago. I find it quite logical.

So they just check and tell you no problem already? Quite a lame diagnostic i must say. sweat.gif

Happy Lunar New Year to all XV owners!!

Yes!!! The SA manage to settle everything and deliver my white XV yesterday. I finished the reunion lunch at my wife's family house and while walking to my wife's car to go back home around 4pm. Surprisingly got the call from my SA saying can collect the car - perfect timing. rclxm9.gif The Subaru showroom is very near to my wife's family home.

Not much driving done except for the journey from the showroom back to my home at Skudai. Initial feel - it is more powerful than my previous Livina. Better ride quality too but maybe this is due to my Livina aging suspension.

Exploring with the HU now. biggrin.gif It is better than i expected. Maybe just upgrade the speakers will be good enough. thumbup.gif

Thanks, hwachai, for updating my nick in the owner list. Put my location as Johor Bahru instead, thanks. notworthy.gif

The Kenwood HU has an unstable USB port - insert now can read and play music and videos but later pull out, copy some other files and insert again, taking ages to read device and never finish reading. rclxub.gif I am using a normal Kingston Data Traveller 2.0. Playing some videos files will have lag too. doh.gif Will using a faster thumb drive help? I think the brain of the HU is really Pentium-Era. sleep.gif

i tried with 16gb pendrive, the video playing very smooth, but shifting to play music, is kinda slow to load.

so far i just use my ipod classic and ipod nano, no issue with that, 1 - 2 seconds loading time, plug in it will continue to play the song.
*
yes, i tried with a USB3.0 16GB Pendrive and the loading is very fast now. The video shutter and sound lag in video also solved with converting them to 800x480 resolution. But the video quality kinda low with the default setting, will try compiling with higher quality later.

did you crank up the volume? The Aux In is very soft without an amplifier, need to crank up to the max to hear decent volume from my mobile phone. But if I use a portable amp, then it sound great.

Happy CNY folks!
I've just got my FXT 2014 days before CNY.
but i encountered some problem.
1. SRS Airbag alert - got it fixed yesterday
2. engine vibrating every morning when started - any FXT 2014 owner encountered the same thing? been told by SC it's due to Boxer engine. but sales room told me it's CBU problem. a bit concern now~
any pointers?
thanks in advance.
*
Congratulation on your new ride. I also took delivery of my XV at the last minute on the eve of CNY. My XV also has the vibration every morning when cold starting, not very comfortable with it too. Will ask the service centre about it on my first service later. Maybe our idle RPM not set high enough? hmm.gif One of my previous car (can't remember which one) has the same problem but after setting the idle RPM properly, the problem solved. Not too sure on the Subaru though coz first time using Boxer engine.

QUOTE(sonic_cd @ Feb 5 2014, 05:30 PM)
gotta go try that using the aux in ... though wish can use the usb port ... lol
*
Too bad there is only another AUX port at the back of the HU, no USB. Anyhow, will route the AUX port at the back to the armrest, so that i can use my portable amp in the armrest. Quite frustrated that only the Album Cover on the USB will be display but not the DVD. doh.gif Wasted my time added all the Album Cover to the mp3 and burn to a DVD. shakehead.gif

I always have an OBD port scan tool, which is not too expensive nowadays with me in the car. One of the main reasons is because for my turbo Forester and since I mess around with the air intake and turbo boost sensor, there is a chance that some error crops up and my car will go into limp mode. Basically cannot drive above a certain speed and will be like a snail. The tool can erase the fault codes and let me car return to normal. But more importantly, it lets me know where the main problem is, as it reads the fault code and indicates the fault for most of the generic codes.
*
hi, bro, I just bought one of this tool from the garage and tested it working fine today with Torque Pro app. Need to confirm - you just plug it in when necessary or can it be plug in all the time and sync to the Torque Pro app for all time monitoring? Any bad effect to the tool and/or the car for all time connection?

Thanks. smile.gif
