Thanks for your prompt reply. I forgot that I have already bought the return ticket from Osaka doh.gif doh.gif miscalculated.

My friends and I will be landing in Tokyo first, then go Hakone and finally Kyoto. Now I am thinking whether should I split from my gang when they visit Hakone, and go straight to Kyoto instead. Could save some of my penny? sweat.gif

By the way, does anyone know the cheapest route to travel from Hakone's Owakudani (大湧谷) to Kyoto?

not a problem la..just spend 1 day at hakone and proceed to kyoto. No need overnight. At hakone, you dont have to visit all..but onsen is a must!

to be honest, since time is already vital..just grab hikari from odawara

Just proceed as planned and don't bother asking here. I see some jokers trying to be arrogant telling others not doing their homework bla bla bla. They could have chosen not to answer instead of being arrogant.

Anyway what's nice for the fellow might not be nice for your kid. As a kid i'm pretty sure they would like the idea of visiting a castle cruising on a small boat and experience some other stuff where adult would not enjoy.

+1! I read the few versions of this thread also dont have much info on Osaka. More on Tokyo!

Sure rclxms.gif Speaking to the Japanese shouldn't be a problem right?
English?
Yes, the scenery  wink.gif Autumn-winter in Sydney was amazing, just got back last week. Spent 6 days there.
Wanna try Japan around 6 days too! But not too soon.

Err..speaking to a jap in English is quite a task. Its chicken and a duck talk! I just said 'Hai" wenever they speak.LOL! Thats my experience when i was in osaka few weeks back. Some do understand what you were saying but they will just answer you bk in JAP.

Cut the crap river cruise, frerris wheel , santa cruise and spa shit.  All wasting money and time

Why is that so? If one purchase a one day osaka pass that cost 600-800yen , the river cruise, santa maria are FOC. Santa maria cruise is nice where one can tour the osaka bay with great scenery.

Melbourne is normally 40++ in summer so I reckon that's not too bad.
But still gonna be quite unpleasant just swapping flies and all...  rclxub.gif

but melbourne is not humid. you'd be sweating in a few minutes just after walking outside.

I calculated my travelling expenses for my Tokyo trip in November and its around RM200/7000yen for 7 days. I'm planning to top up my Suica card with 7000yen and just use it throughout the trip. Is that a good idea or is there a better way?

Hi- i will be travelling to Osaka later this week- with my 2 young boys.  Yup- agreed it is too many places to visit- and too little time.
like taikor regentcid mentioned, you really should go to Nara, if for nothing else but to let your kids feed the deer.

start at http://www.japan-guide.com/

narrow down what you like or don't like based on that site

draft an itinerary then ask specific questions here

Dear cluesslees@07,

they are 1200 deers in the Nara and surround Park, I am sure your kids will like it, and it
totally free, you need to buy deer cracker to feed the deers only. icon_idea.gif
