Tokyo Disney Sea Part 6

As we exited the ride the 'volcano' just erupted. Even from far away you could its heat burning your face. Quite impressive really. It's not cheap to maintain this flame every 15-20 minutes. By that time it was almost 3pm and everybody was starved and we went to look for food.

We headed back to the Lost River Delta and had lunch at the Yucatan Base Camp. This place pretty much serves grill food. The price (without conversion) and taste was also nice. Generally food at Tokyo Disney Sea had been really good and have exceeded my expectations on theme park food.

Smoked pork with special sauce, ¥ 1200

After getting full recharged we then headed for Indiana Jones Adventures. Another must try ride here! No Fast Pass for us though. The queue here is exceptionally long. Waited close to an hour.

Tokyo Disney Sea Part 7

As the sun starts to set, our journey in Disney Sea is also coming to an end. We went to get the Fast Pass for Raging Rapids and spent the remaining time in the Arabian Coast and enjoy the really meticulous design and architecture.

Vanilla Ice Cream + Mango sorbet. Quite nice!

As we finally tried the last ride of Disney Sea, we were quite dissapointed. Raging Rapids was just another roller coaster ride which also does not warrant the need for a Fast pass. I would gladly skip it the next time I return to this place. The roller coasters back in Malaysia is just much better than this ride. :/

Rain here totally different from KL. It doesnt pour an hour and the sun comes out but drizzle the whole day. And it really makes you moody.

when i was in akihabara there was a heavy downpour for about 30 minutes. in shibuya there was a slight drizzle which lasted awhile. same thing when i was in kyoto. didnt really experience a whole day drizzle for 12 days there.

Tokyo Disney Sea Finale more videos in my blog :3

The nights grew darker and we made our way to our final stop of the day, Big Band Beat, before joining in the whole Disney Sea crowd for the Fantasmic! show at the Mediterranean Harbour.

The Big Band Beat show was on a first come first served basis until all the seats are filled up. When we arrived at the place there was already a huge queue waiting to go in the auditorium. Fortunately for us there were still seats left and we were able to get in after a 20 minute wait.

The live band show has several time slots across the day and I highly recommend it! The jazz themed performances were top class and original, unlike the Monster Rock Show in Universal Studios Singapore. Thankfully the show was conducted in English and we could understand the whole thing.

My final moments were spent in the souvenir shop doing some last minute shopping. I went YOLO mode and bought a really pink Minnie Mouse T-Shirt for ¥1900. It's actually quite cheap for the Japanese if you don't convert. Everybody was mostly wearing the official T-shirts in the park. The train ride back from Mahama station was rather packed as most of the visitors are leaving at the same time. Good bye Disney Sea, I will definitely be back!!

question on souvenirs tongue.gif

I'm planning to buy small souvenirs when in Tokyo. Is it generally cheaper in Oriental Bazaar or Ameyoko street? I'm only going to each place once so hope if I can get any feedback on this.

thanks!

Can have a look at sensoji temple as well. Don't expect the prices to be below RM10 per item though.

Bullet Train Boarding @ Shinagawa Station

It's time to say goodbye to Tokyo as we made our way from Asakusabashi to Shinagawa Station, which seems like the central place to board the extremely fast bullet trains to move around Japan. Needless to say, with great speed comes with a great price tag. My journey from Tokyo to Kyoto cost a whooping ¥13, 720 (~RM450) which was almost the same price as my flight ticket back to Malaysia. For this price, seats are already included.

The bullet train arrived exactly on the minute mark and left within seconds. If you are fractionally late, do prepare to burn your wallet for another ticket. The interior of the train feels pretty much like a aeroplane and the seats are rather comfortable.

It was a great experience to finally try out the famous Shinkansen. Maybe next time I would get the JR Rail Pass and I can hop in and out of the trains as I please. Kansai here I come!!

Climb a bit thread please, or just google it up.

Look, whenever it is public holiday in M'sia, you see shopping mall flooded with people right? In Japan in even worse, your whatever JR Pass won't save you shit lol, you have to stand aside.

And oh... Majority of the accommodation will have x% price increased aka peak season.
*
Thanks. Couldn't remember which type I took. Only know it's the most expensive and fastest option laugh.gif

QUOTE(estcin @ Mar 3 2014, 11:38 AM)
The distance is more than 360km. Bullet train takes about 4 hours at a speed of 300km/h
*
I think your calculation is wrong lol. Tokyo to Kyoto about 700km so the train takes 2 hours plus

This. Not exactly cheap though, I remember paying around 950-1000yen per day for it (so about rm30). But anyway in my opinion it's worth the money to have internet wherever you go.

Alternately ... I see some advertisements/promotions for this NAVITIME app which supposedly gives you a map of free wifi spots ... but absolutely no idea how useful/useless it is.

Yah if can share with a few friends then not so expensive. Free WiFi is very unreliable. The place which offers free non hassle wifi would be in Malaysia.

QUOTE(stormlcc @ Mar 24 2014, 11:44 AM)
FYI chinese language is totally USELESS in Korea.  in japan at least u can make out 50-60% of the writing (AT LEAST).  even if u can't understand jap words, u can ignore / skip them sometimes because a lot of them isn't needed for understanding a whole sentence.  learning jap writing for a chinese literate is a lot easier than learning to speak japanese because u don't need anyone to practice it with

we can easily go 'free and easy' trip in japan, but in south korea, really suffer
*
but if you can read korean it becomes really easy because most words are actually directly translated laugh.gif

QUOTE(Human Nature @ Mar 24 2014, 11:45 AM)
when i went there, more often than not, i will meet those selling souvenir able to speak in mandarin
*
haha how can you compare with those selling souvenirs. of course some learn mandarin to cater tourists.

what i am talking is the general life in Japan.. from their road signs, warning signs, food menu (some chinese words mean certain type of meat so it's really easy to distinguish and restaurant workers generally know 0 english), labels etc. though i was lucky to meet one restaurant guy from china in a ramen shop. made life quite easy to order food laugh.gif
