Sony Malaysia is really killing the fans. All waiting for it. Even Sony Mobile international facebook already has competition for winning the Z1 Compact, but Malaysia not on sale yet.

It has never been easy to wait but after years or waiting for a perfect phone I finally found this phone!A great spec compact phone.I know that the long awaits are totally worth it.So a little more wait is nothing compare to years of waiting!Sony.Make Believe.Cheers

Its not really Sony Malaysia's fault actually. Couldnt blame them. Why? The Malaysian market is not that huge especially for Sony phones. Heck, the Malaysian market in general is not big if compared to the UK Market or the US or Japan or even Hong Kong. You couldnt blame Sony or any other manufacturers like Apple to launch their products late here as we dont give them enough business "Volume". It is common Business Sense that they launch their products at locations that will garner more sales volume and business first.

It's in Barcelona bro. Got nothing to do with Sony Malaysia's launch of the Z1 Compact. Anyway, the Z1 Compact had been launched in the UK and some other countries already. Malaysia is on the list of 'To be Launched'.

Say I buy from UK, then come back malaysia..will the warranty cover,as in, can pakai in malaysia sony centers,or will it be considered as AP?

It is not called AP either. If you buy from the UK, when you want to perform a warranty claim, you have to send it back to Sony Uk. Simple.
Sony Malaysia will only accept warranty claims from phones bought locally through their Local Dealers.


** But then again if you get the phone from the UK now, you would be the first few who own the Xperia Z1 Compact In Malaysia!

In all likelihood, the Barcelona event would probably be for D6503. And that would be the Xperia Z1L. Not the Z2. Just compare the model numbers.

The regional event in Jakarta however, might involve the Z1 Compact. Might.

Seems like this phone rear panel has got a polycarbonate material instead of glass.But it wouldn't be disappointed though because plastic won't break easily than glass.But the downside towards the polycarbonate material is that it might get scratches easily...

comparing to developed countries? Malaysia can't even be compared to Indonesia now...

this market is so tiny that almost nobody bothers to come here anymore, and i'm not only talking about Sony.

Indonesia has already begun overtaking malaysia in terms of economic muscle. personally, for me, it already had overtaken Malaysia because i've personally been there for business.

anyone who has any sense in doing business wants a piece of that indo pie. i mean, Old Town here is like junk, nobody wants to go there to have coffee but over there it's like freaking Starbucks man......i have to literally muscle my way just to get a table

When it comes to Apple & Samsung, Malaysia launch are pretty much same pace with other countries. Because of the fanbases.

By the way, Sony is really stupid to always launch their phone right after MWC... this launch is gonna overshadow by new phones announced in MWC, many people will no doubt wait for newly announced phones than buy a year old phone.

Like mentioned before, it is not that Sony Malaysia doesn't want to launch the product simultaneously with other parts of the world, it is just because our market command is as high to enable them to bring in the product to this market. Meaning, the market for the Xperia X1 Compact is so big here in Malaysia.

Anyway, just confirmed from a reliable source in Sony Malaysia, the Xperia Z1 Compact will be launched here at the end of February or early March 2014.
Price is expected to be around the same price with the Xperia Z1 (around Rm2199 on Sony Malaysia's website).
They mentioned the phones are at our shores already. Just awaiting launch date.
