hi jinyee. Thanks for recommending the Bobbi Brown's foundation. smile.gif But I just found out that my skin's not dry actually. It's dehydrated. I'm currently using the neutrogena oil free moisturiser. It works during the regimen but during the day, I thought perhaps I need a moisturiser to help in my skin's dehydration problem. What would be your recommendation? Thanks a lot ya. smile.gif
*
Neutrogena oil-free moisturizer is okie but I highly recommend cetaphil moisturizer.

Hie,

I got one more question. How to tell if your skin is dry ? How to tell if your skin is dehydrated ?

Pls advice
*
Do you face feel tight? If it does, meaning that it was dehydrated. While if your skin is dry skin, try to glide your finger through your forehead, you will hardly feel the oiliness.

Normally I discourage people to use 2 topical over the counter products together because it might irritate the skin, which risking for adverse effect. Anyhow, BP is the best OTC that I would recommend, whilst for tretinoin, it might be more irritating compared to BP, so its used to the night because it will reduce your skin protection against sunlight.

Doxycycline is a generic pill for acne. It does help for anti bacterial purpose.

Well, for long time, doxycycline may not work charm because P.acne bacteria will grow resistance against it.

My advice is that follow my regimen. It works well and somemore you don't need to consume antibacterial pill, which reduce your chance to get internal side effect.

Thanks.

Dear jinyee,

Currently I am using the Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser but without the Panoxyl. Is it ok? This is because my face doesnt really face a serious acne problem (just sometimes pop a few out when near the period time / when I sleep late and didnt drink enough water). Or I must use the Panoxyl together with the cleanser? By the way, I could not find the Panoxyl 2.5 at my place, just found the Panoxyl 5 and 10..so is it ok that I use the Panoxyl 5 as replacement?

Cetaphil gentle cleanser cleanses your skin gently, without stripping the sebum layer on your skin. Sebum is kinda of 'good' oil that shield your skin from contaminants. Therefore, you felt oilier because your previous cleanser has given you the 'clean and dry' feeling.

No, please ONLY use Panoxyl 2.5. If your skin is not that acne prone, then you may leave it out. Apply it when you have acne once for a while. You can try finding it at bigger store.

Owh okay.

I'm not sure whether this is the right place to ask. Some time ago i had a pimple and my hands got itchy and i pressed and popped it. Time passed by and the scar on the surface of the skin that came after the pimple already cured. However below the skin there is a "lump" of flesh. It can't be seen but could felt. Is the lump of flesh dangerous? Is it a growth or something?

Thanks.

Its not dangerous. This is called keloid scar, which it surfaces. You can try to use Palmer's scar serum to help on this.

Again, you see the word fragrance at the end. So, I don't think its a good idea to risk your skin for that.

Apply applying PanOxyl, please wait for a few minutes, wait for it to dry 1st, then you proceed for moisturizer.

jinyee, how much of the PanOxyl do you recommend to use? From what I've seen at acne.org, the regimen pretty much similar, uses quite a large amount.

I don't encourage to use a LARGE amount. Anyhow, I believe that with mild cleanser, it will be able to help your skin to shield itself against acne. ONLY apply to acne prone area just for prevention. So, you don't have to stock several sticks of Panoxyl at home because you may use off one stick in maybe 3-4 months.

First of all, let me ask you. Do you include BP in your regimen, if you did, then your whitehead should has dried out.

Let me know your whole regimen, then its easier for me to comment on it.Thanks!

Jinyee,

My skin has not had acne break outs for sometime now. I would like to know whether exfoliating my skin on a daily basis will make my acne scars and pits worse ?

Actually, I noticed something, because last week I forgot to exfoliate my skin for a few days and my scars and pits became to look less obvious. But when I started to exfoliate again, it seems like my scars and pits look more obvious.

Pls advice

Thanks a lot
