First of all, let me ask you. Do you include BP in your regimen, if you did, then your whitehead should has dried out.

Let me know your whole regimen, then its easier for me to comment on it.Thanks!

Hi Jin Yee,

Yes, I have included BP in my regimen. But the problem is my whitehead didnt dry out. I'm using Cetaphil Cleanser and PanOxyl 2.5

Seems like the BP didnt work for me, because I applied it on my whole face (bcz a lot of whitehead) and the whitehead still poping out...haih....

hi! i'm new to here.
but i would like to share my experience wif u all.
last time during form 4, i had acne problems also.
i went to consult dermatologist many times and many places.
i've tried many antibiotics (Tetracycline and minocycline),it doesn't work(no effect) but i'm allegic to Erythromycin (both oral and topical red colour lotion).

then a miracle happened,i was given accutane(isotretinoin) as my last resort and it works perfectly.10mg accutane a day(i tried 20mg aday, but it made my blood test result abit abnormal).took 1year 3months.after that, till now, no acne problems for me(old scars recover abit also).i'm 21 now.jinyee80 is correct.cetaphil is good,it works perfectly wif accutane.cetaphil helps dry the pimples quite fast

accutane its precribed from dermatologist.cannot buy at normal pharmacy.u wan details abt it, den search for "accutane".u might get frightened by the side effects, but if u follow careful instructions by doctor=100% safe.

those antibiotics details also can be searched from google.last time i did my own research on those stuffs before i start my medication.

Jinyee will the peeling caused by BP last as long as i use it or only for the 1st few weeks?

I am supposed to apply BP every night to areas that most likely to develop acne. Do i still need to apply when my face have no acne just for prevention?

Thanks.

Initially you might have adverse result but its normal anyway because your skin has to build tolerance to BP. Btw, its great if you would find out whether you have either sensitive skin or sensitive to BP.

Accutance works in charm. However, the side effect was there. You may encounter dry lips, back pain, body ache and so on. It will also affect your kidney and liver. Anyhow, if your acne is not at the very SEVERE stage, please stay away from accutane.

It may last until 1 month. Yes, you should apply to acne prone area to prevent future acne.

If you are beginner for BP, only apply BP once per two nights to help your skin to build up tolerance against BP.

hi, jinyee,
im using ur regimen for about 1 week now. but, im using the different moisturizer. im using Clinelle moisture glow. it says that it is non-comedogenic, no artificial fragrance, no-sd alcohol, no artificial colouring, no lanolin, no mineral oil, 100% essential oil.

its that ok as i cant found cetaphil moisturizer.?

i did ur regimen as cleanse (cetaphil gentle skin celanser), BP (panOxyl 2.5), and moisturize using Clinelle moisture Glow.

and, one more, did the cetaphil cleanser not 'berbuih'? because i kinda likes cleanser with a lot of 'buih'. blush.gif

and, how exactly did BP works? is BP can dries out acne and prevent it at the same time?

i use BP for a week, and i can see i kind of drying out. but it takes time. and its not fully dry yet. is it normal? or should i use a large amount of BP? but as u said earlier, u not recommend to use a large amount of BP.

thanks.

You could substitute it with other moisturizer but yet I still recommend you to use the cetaphil moisturizer if possible.

For your information, Cetaphil is soap-free, so it does not has the lathering effect. Why does your normal cleanser lather? Because it contains either sodium laureth sulphate or sodium lauryl sulphate. In actual, these ingredients are utilized to unclog the drain and toilet bowl.

Your skin has to build up tendency towards BP. In average, it will take at least 2 months. Before that you may encounter overdrying, severe acne and so on but it will heal very soon. Use BP on Acne prone area. Thats all. Its unnecessary to apply it all over the face.

Jinyee,

My skin has not had acne break outs for sometime now. I would like to know whether exfoliating my skin on a daily basis will make my acne scars and pits worse ?

Actually, I noticed something, because last week I forgot to exfoliate my skin for a few days and my scars and pits became to look less obvious. But when I started to exfoliate again, it seems like my scars and pits look more obvious.

Pls advice

Thanks a lot

You will have adverse reaction initially due to your skin to built up tolerance against BP. Be patient. Because acne has 28 days of cycle. It started to pop out because it was there before you used BP. BP is trying to surface it and clean it up once and for all.

I have encounter situation which people try to advertise through this thread. Well, it works or not, really depends on individual but if it works so MIRACLE, why don't the dermatologist still rely on accutane to severe acne sufferers? right? lol

Nope. The side effect is not that significant. You can apply to your whole face. However, exclude the eye area and lips area. Make sure you apply a thin layer and smear it evenly. I do not encourage that much of BP because in Malaysia, the temperature is so hot that I do not want you guys to sweat BP...lol.

Dear Jin Yee,

Last time I have pimple and acne problem on my face. Although now no more redness pimple scar, but it caused the pitted scar on my face.

The acne pitted scar not deep but very visible when up close. Any way or product can remove the pitted scar? I prefer not go for surgery, laser or dermabrasion.

Appreaciate your advice and help.
*
Yes, while healing the scar, you need to ensure there's no new acne was formed, For scar, you can go for Palmer's scar serum, apply a very small amount will do. Otherwise, you can go for activa condolisa, but it is costly.

Yes, of course before you scrubbed, your scars are less visible because it was covered by your dead skin cell. Anyway, bear in mind ONLY exfoliate once per week, otherwise it will irritate your skin.

Recently I went to London, visiting my mum and saw that Neutrogena has come out with a personal microdermabrasion system over there. I wonder they will launch it over here or not because microdermabrasion is more effective than our usual scrub because the force was applied evenly.

Anyway, the skin will heal by its own. So, don't push yourself too hard.
