Ya, neck long.

I don't think there will be only turbo version, higher chance there will be either 1.6 or 2.0 and without turbo version.
Best scenario of course 1.6 or 2.0 + 1.6 Turbo.

I am a bit worry on the active safety features for the elantra when it launch here. By looking at Taiwan Elantra that launched recently, not excitement but good thing they have diesel engine option but very low specs.

But then come to think about our weak currency, it's very hard to offer great package with great value, if 1.6 turbo sell at 130k, will you buy?

Own this beautiful bitch for 3 years, still loving her after all these yrs and 110k km!! Even added a new Llumar tint for her b4 CNY. But now something major problem surfacing!!
I afraid she just got the same problem as her sisters back in USA: Steering problem! (please read: http://www.businessinsider.com/r-hyundai-r...IR=T&r=US&IR=T)!

When turning the steering wheel, there is "click, click" sounds, especially during slow speeds. Check with a local car shop (didn't go back to dealership due to out-of-warranty dispute) and was told this happened to many earlier Avante models, n some Elantra too! Major repair and original parts are hard to get.
Any recommendation of repair shop here in JB to deal with this matter? Or any solution from others owners on this problem??

130k for 1.6T with full set active safety feature like Ioniq and HU with navigation, android auto and apple CarPlay? If yes, will consider. If 120k for all these, terus take my money. biggrin.gif

Haha fully agree! As long the new Elantra Turbo not more than the civic medium spec price, it might be sell... if more than it, say bye bye.

Currently looking forward to the Elantra Turbo as it might be my next target car, but pricing will be significant factor as the Civic Turbo overall has the upper hand.

Just hope they priced it well below the 124k mark... tongue.gif

No idea wor. Those who change sendiri pick n choose their own.
I guess u have to decide which tickles your fancy and suits your budget more.
Please note that modification done during warranty period will void the warranty for that part and related parts too, so PLEASE be careful NOT to cut wiring.

Hey Laura, regarding the HU: my Elantra is year 2016 model and same as the guy before me, I am also having hard time with my HU. I would like to change it, but when you mention void warranty for that part and related parts, what are these parts are we actually talking about?
If i come to Glenmarie for appointment to fix new HU, can do for me? biggrin.gif

From the Youtube reviews, civic is more spacious and higher quality material for the interior, Elantra definitely need to be priced much lower then Civic and as high spec as possible in order to compete. Especially the 1.6T

I will only consider the 1.6T because of the rear independent multi link suspension

If you mean the ' tuk, tuk' sound when you turn your steering when the car is stationary, it is just a small rubber in the EPS. I have changed this before at old long road SC. Damage approx RM 120. That is about 2 years ago. It is a wear and tear part and quite common. If you dare you can just buy the part from SC and there you can Google the service manual. According to hyundai USA owners, the rubber cost about 1.70 USD but the labour is about 120 USD. Good luck . smile.gif
